* This temporary role allows you to contribute your expertise for a focused period while maintaining your schedule flexibility. Major holidays are observed, including New Year's Day, Independence Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
* Seamless Technology: Leverage your familiarity with Epic, the EMR system used at the facility.
* Supportive Environment: Collaborate with a team of Level II nursery nurses, diagnostic specialists, and a pediatrician to provide comprehensive neonatal care.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Be available by phone to address the needs of newborns admitted to the hospital nursery, 24 hours a day.
* Evaluate the need for in-person evaluation or intervention.
* Provide timely and appropriate telephone consultations or arrange for in-person assessments as necessary.
* Work collaboratively with the on-site healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
* Participate in hospital nursery rounding during the day shift.
* Manage patient admissions as needed (temporary privileges available).
* Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the Epic EMR system (credentialing permitting).
* Qualifications for Success:
* Current certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) is mandatory.
* Valid nursing license in the state of Alabama is required.
* Current certifications in ACLS and PALS to demonstrate your commitment to patient safety.

Additional Details:

Current Information:
- Shift: Days, approx. 8 hours, Monday - Friday. 24/7 accountability for team but no regular call rotation, does go into staffing as needed but has not been consistent in the past.
- Manager will oversee Central Sterile, OR, Anesthesia, and First Assists - 50 Direct Reports, 4-5 Coordinators.
- 10 OR Beds - 2 Dedicated to OB, 3 Davinci XI Robots
- Lots of Ortho, Bariatrics, and Vascular. Growing in those spaces/increasing services and adding additional Doctors. Majority is Elective Surgery, lots of Outpatient Volume, Inpatient Add-Ons come through.
- Level III Trauma Facility
- Team is interested in candidates that are very collaborative, especially interdepartmentally. Will work closely with Surgical Services Director and other Surgery Manager that is over PACU, Endo and Same Day Surgery
- Manager role is vacant as the previous Manager has moved into the Director Role
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state required.
- Minimum 1 year of related clinical experience required.
- Prior related clinical leadership experience required. Will consider previous Charge Nurse/Supervisor/Lead experience

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Home Therapy RN will initiate the PRACTICE of a SHC coordinator of patient care, collaborating with other care providers and health team members to provide required care. The Home Therapy RN acts as a patient teacher and advocate, assisting the patient in seeking information, assuring the patient has the opportunity for informed consent for treatment decisions, and promotes the maximum level of patient-desired independence.
The Home Therapy RN identifies professional role development activities including continuing education, quality assessment and improvement, and the review and clinical application of research findings. The RN identifies ethically sound practices and confronts ethical challenges with minimal assistance from a mentor.
Will perform home visits to determine that the home environment is suitable for patient dialyzing at home and whether or not the home will be a safe and appropriate setting in compliance with CMS regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- One (1) year of registered nurse experience.
- One (1) year of experience as a Nephrology Nurse with dialysis experience required; in peritoneal dialysis, home hemodialysis, or a combination of both.
Education:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school or equivalent
License/Certification:
- Current, active, unencumbered state RN licensure
- Current Healthcare Provider certification (CPR) required

- Competent and in-depth knowledge regarding the use of Electronic Health Records

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Home Therapy RN will initiate the PRACTICE of a SHC coordinator of patient care, collaborating with other care providers and health team members to provide required care. The Home Therapy RN acts as a patient teacher and advocate, assisting the patient in seeking information, assuring the patient has the opportunity for informed consent for treatment decisions, and promotes the maximum level of patient-desired independence.
The Home Therapy RN identifies professional role development activities including continuing education, quality assessment and improvement, and the review and clinical application of research findings. The RN identifies ethically sound practices and confronts ethical challenges with minimal assistance from a mentor.
Will perform home visits to determine that the home environment is suitable for patient dialyzing at home and whether or not the home will be a safe and appropriate setting in compliance with CMS regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- One (1) year of registered nurse experience.

License/Certification:
- Current, active, unencumbered state RN licensure
