Job Description
Uncommon Middle School History teachers work in grade level teams and departments to push students towards being self-guided learners. Our teachers develop subject mastery and have a keen sense of the socio-emotional changes middle school students experience. History classes aim to empower students' voices and develop them into global citizens by emphasizing textual analysis, analytical writing, and discourse. Teachers also use engaging instructional strategies to make history come alive! At the conclusion of eighth grade, students are prepared for the academic autonomy and college preparatory focus of our high schools.
Responsibilities
1. Β Β Instruction
- You'll facilitate student-led discourse of historical topics, where students grapple with open-ended guiding questions, engage in peer-to-peer debate, and synthesize arguments.
- You'll guide students to understand the author's claim and the power of sourcing while developing the skills of argumentation, corroboration, inquiry, and historiography through primary and secondary source analysis.
- You'll teach an in-house curriculum that prioritizes the diverse histories of Indigenous peoples, African Americans, women, ancient cultures, and the impact all of these groups have had on the development of the United States.

Part-time School Food Professional
The International Leadership Charter High School is a high performing College-Preparatory high school dedicated to providing an exceptional secondary school education to first and second-generation students to graduate college ready. Position Summary
The Part-time School Food Professional plays a critical role in supporting the daily lunch operations to ensure a safe, orderly, and positive dining experience for students. The Part-time School Food Professional prepares meals, supervises students during meal periods, reinforces school expectations, maintains cleanliness in the cafeteria/pantry, and assists with operational needs related to food service.
Job Responsibilities:
- Sets-up assigned station with appropriate items before meal service; checks for cleanliness before starting preparation of food.
- Assembles prepared food on trays for scholars according to menu.
- Preparing and heating food following DOH protocols.
- Serves food at proper temperatures utilizing appropriate kitchen equipment.
- Cleans kitchen, dining areas and pantry.
- Washes, sanitizes and/or sterilizes dishes, working areas/surfaces, utensils and equipment.
- Collects, transports and/or disposes of garbage and trash in designated containers; runs appropriate items through a sink utilizing appropriate cleaning and sanitizing agent(s).

Β· Assists High School students with selection of classes and enrollment.
Β· Facilitate and monitor a four-year plan of study leading to post secondary studies for 11th and 12th grade students.
Β· Assists in the development of the master schedule; counsels with High School parents and students regarding class offerings, schedule changes and the individual students four-year education plan and goals.
Β· Assist students in registration and preparation of various tests including PSAT, SAT, and the ACT.
Β· Plans, coordinates, and administers state and school required testing and interprets results to students, parents, administrators, and teachers.
Β· Prepares, revises, and updates class lists and student schedules for ninth through twelfth grade.
Β· Maintains counseling records for High School students.
Β· Coordinates grading procedures, grade reporting, honor roll, class rank, graduation requirements, etc. for High School students.
Β· Serves as the High Schoolβs liaison between parents, students, administration, faculty, outside professionals and organizations.
Β· Assists and coordinates scheduling needs within the High School.
