Provides clinical nursing leadership and acts as a facilitator, educator, and resource for the Detention Health Care Services team. Ensures that efficient, appropriate, and therapeutic health care is administered to DHCS patients while also ensuring that established security requirements are maintained (as defined by the Bexar County Adult Detention Center and Central Magistrate’s Office). Demonstrates patient assessment skills and able to translate knowledge into the planning and interventions required to meet the individual needs of each patient. Supports and adheres to University Health (UH) and Detention Health Care Services (DHCS) policies and procedures. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with UH mission, vision and values. Promotes excellent internal and external customer relations
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
One year of clinical experience in direct patient care is required. Experience in correctional health care or nursing within an emergency environment is preferred. Prior knowledge or experience within the University Health System nursing services and certification as a Certified Correctional Health Care Provider (CCHP) also a plus. BSN is highly preferred. Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification strongly preferred (Central Magistrate)
LICENSURE
Must possess a current Registered Nurse license from the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas. Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card

The Operational Intelligence Center (OIC) is a sophisticated command center dedicated to providing exceptional customer service to retail centers across North America. As an OIC Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering top-notch customer service through telephone interactions with customers and tenants, supporting security operations via radio communications, and monitoring video surveillance systems. This role requires outstanding computer skills, the ability to master multiple applications, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service in every interaction.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone and radio calls.
- Communicate effectively with callers to gather complete information and determine the appropriate level of service, including dispatching police, fire, medical, security, or property management.
- Collaborate with on-site security personnel to resolve incidents.
- Provide pre-arrival emergency or medical instructions to law enforcement or fire personnel.
- Escalate and coordinate incidents with the OIC Supervisor.
- Interpret site maps, and computer-aided design maps.
- Familiarize yourself with the layout and current threats and challenges of multiple retail centers.
- Maintain confidentiality of policies, procedures, emergency response information, and administrative materials.
- Master several computer applications for data logging, information navigation, and customer support.
- Understand and follow emergency and evacuation procedures for assigned retail centers.
- Identify and respond effectively to suspicious criminal activity.
- Operate and monitor surveillance cameras and programs, ensuring all equipment functions properly.
- Support record management and data collection efforts, including video documentation and investigation assistance.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a public or private safety organization or dispatching and or call center/customer service experience.
- At least two (2) years of experience in a video surveillance environment or equivalent training/experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- College degree in Criminal Justice.
- Emergency telecommunicator certificate- if you do not have your ETC, we provide the opportunity to earn your certificate.
Knowledge and Skills Required:

Security Guards are responsible for conducting a variety of security-related duties and must be familiar with current federal and state laws, and USCG policies, practices, and standard operating procedures. Security Guards are responsible for controlling entry/exit posts; roving patrols; control, issuance, and storage of keys; alarm and fire system monitoring; enforcing building rules and regulations; prohibiting unauthorized access; responding to incidents, accidents, injuries, and/or illnesses; and other additional duties as required by supervision/management.
Applicants selected will be subject to a background/security investigation and must be drug-free and remain drug-free during the period of employment. This position reports directly to their assigned shift supervisor.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Controlling entrance/exit posts.

The Security Officer is responsible for the protection, safeguarding, safety, and security of assets, property, team members, clients, and all visitors at all United Wholesale Mortgage locations.
This Security Officer will use various telecommunications devices to call for assistance from fire fighters, police forces, and emergency medical services. They will provide general emergency care for team members and respond to medical emergencies.
The Security Officer will also interview witnesses or victims to prepare case reports and testify in court if necessary.

Security Guard is able to perform a variety of fixed-post, mobile, or foot patrols while maintaining situational awareness and making decisions and/or taking actions consistent with established post orders, facility rules, guidelines and protocols. Duties may include work in austere and uncomfortable conditions for prolonged periods of time, including periods of inclement weather, while performing walking, standing, searching, and surveillance or sitting duties essential to the performance of the security functions.
Keep supervisors and managers informed of unusual occurrences and important events as detailed in post orders, rules, regulations, guidelines, and protocols.
Monitor alarms, radio traffic and other information sources. Dispatch or inform others as needed and authorized.
Report and appropriately address fire alarms, burglary alarms, requests for assistance and criminal acts; including but not limited to: vandalism, theft, illegal entry or attempted entry, suspicious behavior, domestic or workplace violence, threats, speed or other vehicle violations, illegal drug use, inappropriate use of facility or client equipment or property.
Stop, screen, inquire, and inspect vehicles and pedestrians entering and / or exiting the facility as directed by post orders, rules, regulations, guidelines, and protocols.
Prevent passage of prohibited articles onto or from client facility.
Escort individuals or vehicles in accordance with post orders, rules, regulations, guidelines and protocols.
Use portable radios, phones, or other communication devises appropriately and according to established rules.
Monitor all APSI and client equipment; guard against loss or damage; report any such loss or damage immediately to a supervisor or manager.
Log in Property Pass numbers for authorized property/equipment movements.
Ensure the security of government property, detaining personnel, and reporting anyone involved with unauthorized property/equipment removal.
Conduct regular patrols and inspections of buildings and facilities

Monitor electronic access control and report violations

Contact, assist, and cooperate with local, state, or federal law enforcement; locate, retain, and protect necessary evidence; testify as necessary in judicial and administrative proceedings.

Education:
Required: High School Diploma/GED or better.
Experience:
Required: 2 years: Experience: a. Minimum of 2 years of security/civilian law enforcement experience OR an equivalent position with the United States Armed Forces (military). b. One year of work experience demonstrating the ability to follow directions, meet attendance requirements and the ability to complete the training necessary to certify with the State. Must be fluent in speaking and writing in English. Must be able to pass criminal background screen, drug test and physical exam.
