Project Manager I – Telecom/Network/MDF

The role

This is your opportunity to manage large, publicly funded capital projects ranging from $1M to $25M. You will oversee 5–10 concurrent projects and guide telecom, security, network, and audiovisual systems from early planning through final activation.

In this onsite Los Angeles role, you will become the go-to technical leader between project teams, IT stakeholders, design consultants, and contractors. Your work will directly influence campus operations, safety systems, and learning environments.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Lead full lifecycle delivery of structured cabling, VoIP, security, AV, and network infrastructure projects
• Define clear technology scope during design and protect it throughout construction
• Review drawings and specifications to prevent field conflicts and costly revisions
• Manage equipment and infrastructure budgets to keep projects financially on track
• Guide procurement activities and evaluate contractor proposals and change requests
• Oversee installation, integration, testing, and commissioning to ensure systems work together seamlessly
• Coordinate BDF/MDF/IDF buildouts, pathway planning, grounding, labeling, and standards compliance
• Support operational turnover, documentation, and end-user readiness

The Senior Educational Media Specialist is a seasoned media specialist with at least 5 years of deep expertise in the conceptualization, design, scripting, and story boarding of educational media content. Senior Educational Media Specialists oversee the development of comprehensive media projects, working closely with strategic partners and managing third-party vendors; this includes the creation of new media content, as well as the search for suitable media content within Covista's owned content repositories and/or third-party media libraries. The Senior Educational Media Specialist manages multiple projects during different stages of development, each with varying requirements and milestones. As one of the most seasoned and experienced educational media specialists within the Product Development and Classroom Design team, the Senior Educational Media Specialist has a thorough understanding of digital product design and development theories, processes, best practices, and trends, integrating that knowledge to enhance the student learning experience by leveraging the correct media application, applying flexible approaches, and driving strategic innovation to anticipate, meet, and exceed partner needs. Responsibilities

• Generates vision and strategy that guide media development projects and supports the operations of the Product Development and Classroom Design team.

Our innovations include using radar to contactlessly detect muscle fatigue and measure blood pressure, repurposing cheap earphone speakers to listen to heart valve mechanics, smartglasses that sense eye muscle signals to enable auto-focusing lenses for age-related vision loss, a smartphone attachment that isolates a speaker's voice in a noisy restaurant as assisitive listening aid, and transforming a standard tablet touchscreen into a sensor that can detect microliter-scale DNA samples.

As an Entertainment Technician, you are responsible for the safe handling and operation of equipment within the fields of lighting, audio, atmospheric effects, and pneumatics. This includes the technical running of live shows as well as other marquee events.?Technicians are expected to?interact with guests, other employees, and supervisors while maintaining the company’s integrity and following all park policies and procedures. Job duties also include working both individually as well as with a team and should anticipate working in all weather conditions.
