Position Overview

Wakefern Food Corp’s Technical Division is seeking an experienced and innovative Sr. Software Developer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will participate in the design, development, and implementation of scalable application solutions that support our business operations across the organization, with a particular emphasis on optimizing and enhancing supply chain processes. This is a critical role in ensuring the seamless flow of goods, data, and services from suppliers to stores, leveraging technology to drive efficiency and resilience throughout our supply chain network.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions using modern frameworks and architectures.
  • Work with databases to design schemas, write efficient queries, and manage data integrity.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and key stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solution.
  • Ensure applications are robust, secure, and compliant with Wakefern’s IT policies and industry regulations.
  • Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high standards of software quality with a focus on applications supporting logistics systems.
  • Document application architectures, processes, and integration points, highlighting critical interfaces and dependencies within the business network.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production and non-production environments.
  • Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Java, Node.js, Angular, Ionic, Capacitor, and SQL.
  • Experience with web development, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with agile methodologies, code versioning tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in the retail, logistics, or distribution industry is a plus.


Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • Availability to work a varied, flexible schedule to meet business demands
  • Ability to monitor computer screens for long periods of time
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule as established by the division (4 days on-site, 1 day remote)
