Job Summary


Under the direct supervision of the department managers, the Materials Handler provides superior customer service. Is responsible to perform shipping, receiving, staging, and delivering of packages. Is also responsible for inventory control functions including ordering, picking, replenishing, and delivering of medical supplies. Is also responsible for retrieving, cleaning, delivering equipment, and traction / trapeze setup. Must be able to perform data entry utilizing computers and handheld devices, including the use of the computerized inventory control system Infor and Innertrack. Must have strong communication skills and knowledge of medical supplies. Also covers user requests including phone calls and emails as assigned.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma Required
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience (5+ years preferred) in retail, warehouse, logistics role(s) (preferably in a health care materials management capacity) - or equivalent of education and experience.
  • High level of communication and Interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Requires computer literacy, including the ability to use email, web browser, and handheld devices (e.g. phones/tablets)
  • New York State Commercial Driver’s License "A" or “B” with airbrake endorsement
  • Must have a 2 year clean driving record - no moving violations or automobile accidents.

This position will come with a faculty appointment as a clinician-educator at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and it involves supervision and teaching of fellows and residents.

  • Training and Supervision: Overseeing and mentoring GI fellows, Internal Medicine residents, and medical students.
  • Clinical Responsibilities: Providing direct patient care and endoscopy services. The Endoscopy Unit performs over 4,000 procedures annually across both institutions, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and resources.
  • Procedures: Performing a wide range of procedures including standard endoscopies and colonoscopies, EUS/FNA, diagnostic. and therapeutic ERCP, capsule endoscopy, and various advanced endoscopic techniques.
  • Research Opportunities: Engaging in research and other career development activities.
Qualifications
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York.
  • ABMS Board Eligible/Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
  • Proficient use of Electronic Medical Record System (EMR), such as Epic.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) required.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $361,000* (board eligible); $371,000* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $491,520** (board eligible) and $501,520** (board certified) , which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.

You'll lead an accomplished team of 18 board-certified Pulmonary/Critical Care physicians , managing a broad spectrum of services across two hospitals:

  • 12-bed MICUs at both sites, plus 8-bed step-down unit.
  • Active ECMO Program (V-A & V-V).
  • Advanced Bronchoscopy Suite featuring the Ion Robot.
  • Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) and Biopsy Program.
  • Cutting-edge Lung Cancer Screening Program, tightly integrated with Thoracic Surgery, Oncology, Pathology, and Radiology.
  • Dedicated Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) and Pulmonary Hypertension (PHT) Clinics.
  • Vibrant Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Program.
  • Modern Outpatient Procedure Area fully staffed and supported.
  • Provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership across inpatient and outpatient Pulmonary and Critical Care services at both campuses.
  • Oversee faculty development, recruitment, and retention.
  • Promote excellence in clinical outcomes, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety.
  • Drive educational programs for medical students, residents, and fellows.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $342,000* based on 40-hour work week.

The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $416,200**, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
