Title Attorney

*Overview*
Cumberland Title Services, LLC is a Maine based, independent title company seeking an in-house title and real estate attorney. Cumberland Title provides settlement services throughout Maine with eight offices.

*Location*

* Seeking title attorney to work from one of the following offices: Scarborough, Augusta, Bangor, Lincoln, or Bethel.

*Duties*

* Conduct in-depth title research to analyze title issues
* Review title abstracts
* Draft and review title insurance commitments and policies
* analyze title defects and determine appropriate curative actions
* Draft documents related to title, real estate, and financing (examples: deeds, powers of attorney, purchase and sale agreements, easements, financing documents)
* Written and verbal communication with parties, real estate agents, and loan officers regarding title matters
* Conduct real estate closings
* Support processors to adhere to Maine law and title standards related to real estate transactions

*Requirements*

* Active Maine Bar Admission
* 3-5+ years' experience (compensation commensurate with experience)
* strong title abstracting experience
* strong experience preparing title insurance commitments and policies

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
