Position Summary
The Wood Processing Supervisor is responsible for leading daily operations within Mayzonβs wood fabrication and finishing department. This role oversees production performance, safety compliance, quality standards, and team leadership for wood components used in bath furniture, storage, and home organization products. The position drives operational efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Production Leadership
- Direct and supervise daily wood processing operations including cutting, routing, CNC machining, sanding, drilling, shaping, assembly, and finishing.
- Ensure production schedules are achieved while meeting quality and cost targets.
- Monitor KPIs such as throughput, scrap rate, rework, labor efficiency, and equipment utilization.
- Allocate labor resources and adjust workflow to maintain optimal production flow.
Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop production associates within the wood shop.
- Enforce OSHA and plant safety standards, ensuring proper PPE usage and compliance.
- Conduct performance evaluations, training initiatives, and progressive discipline as needed.
- Promote cross-training and workforce flexibility.
Quality & Process Control
- Ensure wood components meet dimensional tolerances, fit/finish specifications, and durability standards.
- Partner with Quality and Engineering to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee stain, paint, laminate, and coating processes to maintain consistency and product integrity.
- Maintain process documentation and standardized work instructions.
Equipment & Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate preventive maintenance for CNC routers, panel saws, edge banders, and finishing equipment.
- Troubleshoot production or mechanical issues in real time.
- Collaborate with Maintenance to improve uptime and reduce downtime events.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and improve material yield.
- Identify cost-reduction opportunities in wood utilization, cycle time, and labor deployment.
- Support sustainable manufacturing efforts including scrap reduction and efficient material handling.
Qualifications
- Associateβs or Bachelorβs degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Wood Science, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in wood processing, cabinetry, furniture manufacturing, or similar production environment.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of hardwoods, MDF, particle board, laminates, and finishing systems.
- Experience operating or supervising CNC woodworking equipment.
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and production scheduling systems.

What Youβll Do
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage full-cycle hourly recruiting support including job postings (LinkedIn, Indeed, ATS platforms)
- Coordinate interviews and candidate communication
- Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation
- Conduct new hire orientation and complete I-9, E-Verify, and employment eligibility verification
- Support background screening and pre-employment compliance
HR Operations & Payroll Administration
- Maintain employee data integrity within HRIS (Paycom, Paylocity, or similar systems)
- Generate HR reports including headcount, turnover, attendance tracking, and workforce metrics
Compliance & Benefits Administration
- Support compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, and state labor laws
- Assist with leave administration, workersβ compensation documentation, and return-to-work coordination

Employee Relations Support
- Serve as first-line HR contact for policy interpretation and employee questions

Qualifications
- 1β3 years of experience in Human Resources, HR Operations, Payroll Administration, or Talent Acquisition Support
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, distribution, or industrial environment preferred
- Working knowledge of employment law compliance, wage and hour regulations, and timekeeping systems
- HRIS experience (Paycom, Paylocity, or similar)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data accuracy management
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion

About the Role
The Senior Product Development Engineer β Plastics is responsible for leading the design, development, validation, and transfer of plastic injection-molded products into volume manufacturing. This role provides technical leadership across product design, material selection, tooling, mold flow analysis, supplier execution, and manufacturing readiness, ensuring products are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet quality and performance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a core member of the Product Engineering team, providing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input for plastic injection-molded components.
- Engineer products from concept through design transfer into volume production.
- Evaluate and approve plastic part designs, materials, and manufacturing methods.
- Review and assess tool design, mold performance, and mold flow analysis including fill, warp, pressure, and balance.
- Act as technical liaison between tooling suppliers, plastic injection molders, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality.
- Lead and support tool and process development, resolving technical issues in real time.
- Work directly with global tooling suppliers and injection molders to deliver robust production molds at competitive cost.
- Develop cost models for plastic components, materials, labor, and tooling to ensure product profitability.
- Support manufacturing by investigating and resolving quality, process, and performance issues.
- Drive design transfer activities, ensuring tooling, process capability, and documentation are production-ready.
- Partner with Supply Chain to evaluate supplier capacity, technical capability, and scalability to support growth.
- Introduce and evaluate advanced plastic molding technologies to support innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs Degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in plastic injection-molded product development and design.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of plastic materials, molding processes, and tooling fundamentals.
- Proven experience working with mold builders, tooling suppliers, material suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple development projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with prototype development and laboratory testing.
- Knowledge of wood processing materials and equipment.

Pay range and compensation package
This position is classified as Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and meets the criteria for the professional exemption based on advanced engineering knowledge, independent judgment, and primary duties.

About the Role
Mayzon is seeking an experienced Injection Molding Mechanic to support equipment reliability and uptime within our Injection Molding Department. This position is responsible for hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of molding equipment and related systems, including both mechanical and electrical repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) tasks to support equipment reliability and performance
- Troubleshoot and repair injection molding machinery and department equipment
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and implement safe, effective repairs
- Document maintenance work orders and completed repairs in a computer-based maintenance system (CMMS)
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, efficiency, and uptime
- Partner with department supervision to support production goals and minimize downtime
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in alignment with company safety requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in an Injection Molding environment
- Minimum 3 years of experience performing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics proficiently
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics proficiently
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly and accurately
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solid computer skills (documentation and maintenance systems)
- Must be able to read and write in English
