Responsibilities
The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. Qualifications
Graduate of a nursing program.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date of April 1, 2020 and after must provide documented evidence of program completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date.

Responsibilities
The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. Mayo Clinic's Division of General Internal Medicine in Rochester is one of the largest academic general internal medicine divisions in the world - serving as the gateway in evaluating and caring for adult patients that may have unexplained symptoms and/or complex medical conditions. Consultative Medicine Clinic (a section of GIM) provides consultative medical care to patients that reside outside of Olmsted county in Minnesota. Consultative Medicine sees new patients to Mayo Clinic for an initial comprehensive evaluation. The LPN role in Consultative Medicine includes, but is not limited to, patient visits (face to face and via telephone) review of patient health history, medication review, immunization administration, focused nutrition assessments, and blood pressure visits. Telehealth interactions may include collecting pertinent information prior to their arrival to the clinic, researching prescription discrepancies, and/or facilitating prior authorization denials. The RN Team Leader acts as a formal and informal leader on the unit. The TL participates and collaborates with the management staff to assist with the daily planning and coordination of the assigned work unit. The TL delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources. Responsibilities
The Ambulatory Float Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works in variety of dynamic specialty clinics and primary care including, but not limited to, the following locations: Baldwin, Gonda, Mayo Clinic, NE Clinic, NW Clinic, SE Clinic, and Kasson. Ambulatory floats provide direct patient care to support the unique needs of the clinical practice. The LPN role in the float practice consists of assisting with patient visits by providing support in a variety of ways including assisting with procedures, rooming patients, administering immunizations, among other skills related to direct patient care. The Ambulatory Float Pool supports 16 different LPN practices serving patients from pediatrics through adulthood. An individual LPN within the Ambulatory Float Pool will train and work in six to ten different practices, specialties, or locations based on FTE and practice mix. Hours are Monday through Friday, with varied start times from 7-8 am. The majority of the schedule is 7:45-4:45 based on unit need.

Primary Care patient services include health care for existing medical needs, preventative care, acute care, and management of chronic health conditions. Care is provided through in-person visits, phone, video and web-based care. LPNs in all primary care practices are valued members of the interprofessional care team, collaborating with physicians, advanced practitioners, non-licensed allied health professionals, registered nurses, and student learners. Adults 18+ with focus on geriatric and palliative needs, including chronic condition management and nurse-led procedures. Community Internal Medicine, Palliative and Geriatrics (GIM-GP) cares for patients age 18 and older. LPNs in Community Internal Medicine play a vital role in delivering patient-centered care for adult/geriatric patients.
