SUMMARY

We are looking for a proactive Senior Associate, Building Science Knowledge Systems, who will support and help manage projects that strengthen the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) ability to assemble, store, and disseminate codes, standards, performance criteria, and best practices in the built environment. Our goal is to make knowledge easier to access and understand so that buildings are safer, more efficient, and more innovative. This role will own defined project workstreams and support multi-stakeholder projects to ensure alignment with client goals, scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. The Senior Associate will coordinate with internal team members and subcontractors, contribute to clear communication and reporting, and help ensure effective knowledge transfer across the organization.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Support planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout of assigned projects and workstreams with emphasis on building technology and innovation.
  • Draft and maintain project workplans and schedules for assigned projects and workstreams.
  • Support defining and documenting project scope, deliverables, KPIs, and success criteria; maintain trackers and dashboards for performance reporting.
  • Support budget, schedule, and resource management for assigned projects; assist with Estimate to Complete (ETC), forecasting, and status reporting; flag variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Identify, track, and help mitigate tasks, project risks, and client relationship risks; escalate issues as needed.
  • Support quality assurance activities to help ensure deliverables meet client expectations and internal standards.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities across cross-functional teams including architects, engineers, researchers, IT specialists, and subcontractors.
  • Support client communications by preparing meeting materials, notes, and regular status updates; participate in client calls as needed.
  • Support knowledge management practices: maintain project files, ensure accessibility of content, capture lessons learned, and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Support stakeholder engagement activities such as workshops, webinars, and technical meetings, including logistics, agendas, and follow-up.
  • Monitor industry trends in digital codes & standards and AEC innovative solutions; share relevant insights and help apply best practices to project delivery.
  • Surface resourcing, skill, and process gaps that may affect delivery and share recommendations with the project lead and senior leaders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by suggesting repeatable approaches, templates, and knowledge management practices; support change management activities as needed.
  • Adhere to and support compliance with organizational standards, federal contracting norms, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Self-manage workloads and proactively coordinate with supervisor and project lead on priorities, risks, and capacity.
  • Support business development by contributing to proposal inputs, capturing client needs, and identifying organic growth opportunities through project-based relationships.
  • Contribute to NIBS external presence by supporting presentations, drafting technical content, and participating in industry forums as appropriate.


SECURITY CLEARANCE

A security clearance is not required, however ability to be granted or to obtain at a minimum, an interim Secret security clearance during employment and then obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance throughout the period of employment, is strongly preferred.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have direct report responsibilities. The Senior Associate may provide task-level guidance to internal team members and contracted staff within assigned workstreams.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The position requires 1-3+ years of experience leading, supporting, or coordinating projects, with a preference for experience within the built environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage defined workstreams, track scope/schedule/budget inputs, and produce high-quality deliverables with appropriate guidance. Experience supporting federal government contracting and reporting requirements is preferred.


TECHNICAL AND OTHER SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

This position offers a unique opportunity to advance the science and practice of implementing evidence-based interventions and accelerating the uptake of implementation research findings in real-world settings. We take a broad view ofimplementation science, emphasizing its integration across disease areas and conditions, including, but not limited to,HIV prevention and care, mental health, substance use, cancer, diabetes, and other chronic diseases.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will join ahighly collaborative, multidisciplinary teamwithin theImplementation Science Research Lab, housed in the Department of Population Health Sciences. The fellow will have the opportunity to engage in national and international partnerships and contribute to multiple ongoing federally and foundation-funded studies.

Key Responsibilities

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will play an active role in advancing the mission of the Implementation Science Research Lab and the Department of Population Health Sciences. Responsibilities will be bothindependent and collaborative, with an emphasis on career development, scholarly productivity, and the application of implementation science methods to real-world public health challenges. Specific responsibilities include:



  • Conduct and lead implementation science studiesfocused on understanding and addressing barriers to the adoption, implementation, and sustainment of evidence-based interventions across different populations and health conditions (e.g., HIV, mental health, substance use, cancer, diabetes).

  • Contribute to ongoing federally and foundation-funded research projectsled by the Implementation Science Research Lab, including mixed-methods studies, intervention trials, and community-based participatory research (CBPR) initiatives.

  • Develop and implement their own research agenda, including conceptualizing, designing, and leading pilot or secondary data studies in alignment with their long-term career goals.

  • Prepare and submit extramural grant applications, such as NIH K-series career development awards, R21 exploratory studies, and foundation-funded proposals, with mentorship from senior faculty.

  • Lead and collaborate on manuscript developmentand dissemination of research findings in peer-reviewed journals and professional conferences.

  • Conduct systematic and scoping reviewsto synthesize implementation science evidence, frameworks, and best practices across health and social care contexts.

  • Participate in data coordination, integration, and harmonizationefforts across multisite studies, ensuring methodological rigor and consistency in data management and analysis.

  • Contribute to tool and resource development, including the adaptation and dissemination of implementation frameworks, assessment tools, and training curricula for diverse audiences (e.g., researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and community partners).

  • Mentor and train researchers, students, and practitionersin implementation science methods, research design, and analytical techniques.

The School of Information at the University of California, Berkeley, invites applications for a pool of part-time, non-tenure track lecturers to teach online courses in the Master of Information and Data Science (MIDS) program. We seek exceptional instructors with professional and/or academic expertise who can lead small, highly interactive sections of around 17 graduate students in this innovative, online program.



Courses in the MIDS program are pre-designed and structured, allowing instructors to focus on delivering dynamic and engaging learning experiences while providing valuable expertise to enhance student outcomes. Responsibilities Include:

Delivering Engaging Online Classes: Plan and lead synchronous sessions that emphasize active learning. Facilitate meaningful discussions, collaborative group activities, and practical exercises that enhance students' understanding and application of core concepts.



Facilitating Student-Centered Learning: Provide personalized support to students by holding virtual office hours, moderating online discussions, and leveraging student analytics to identify and support individual learning needs.

Cannon Building, a leading general contractor specializing in life science, healthcare, commercial/institutional, and industrial sectors, is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee and drive the successful delivery of healthcare construction projects in the San Diego area.


As a Superintendent at Cannon Building, your primary focus will be the Cannon Building’s Safety Plan at the jobsite. Work with the Project Manager to develop a project schedule. Monitor with and assist the Project Manager in the execution of the project financial goals. Provide quality control by studying drawings, questioning uncertain details, continuously walking the job and inspecting each trades work and compare it to the contract documents. Be a problem solver prior to the work taking place and ensure that the work meets or exceeds the requirements of the contract documents.


Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Construction Superintendent – Life Science at Cannon Building. Based in Carlsbad, CA, the Construction Superintendent will oversee daily on-site operations of construction projects, ensuring they are executed on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards. Responsibilities include managing crews and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, preparing and following project schedules, and coordinating resources and materials to optimize efficiency. The role requires collaboration with project management teams and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.


Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Coordination:

  •  Monitor and document all SWPPP, BMP and storm related paperwork related to the project including job surveys and updating of the SWPPP plans and keeping all files up to date.


Leadership and Communication:

  •  Provide leadership by using effective verbal and written communications to manage the subcontractors and field personnel as well as interact with the Owner, Architect and Consultants on behalf of the company.
  • Organize and lead project meetings, prepare minutes, and ensure all parties understand and fulfill their obligations.


 Contract and Compliance Management:

  • Ensure compliance with general conditions and contract requirements, monitoring contract documents for conformance and execution.
  • Negotiate subcontract and purchase order terms, oversee subcontract execution, and manage subcontractor claims.

 

 Project Documentation and Systems:

 

  • Utilize Procore to manage project documentation and costs, overseeing the preparation and reporting of RFIs, submittals, inspections, safety reports, change orders, and related documents.
  • Confirm all contracts are signed and insurance is in place prior to allowing any personnel on the jobsite to perform any work. Reads and has a working knowledge of subcontracts and change orders. Review weekly project logs for insurance, RFIs, Submittals, and Material Delivery Logs to ensure the proper delivery of materials, equipment and labor to the project.
  • Review shop drawings along with Project Manager to help ensure compliance with the construction documents.


Quality and Safety Assurance:

  • Participate in Operations and Safety meetings, promoting and enforcing jobsite safety.
  • Start up the project assessing safety requirements and site logistics. Schedule and document safety start up meetings with the subcontractors reviewing Cannon Building’s safety requirements, OSHA requirements, Site Specific Safety requirements and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor work quality and perform regular inspections to ensure construction standards are consistently met.
  • Enforce strong safety culture, conducting regular safety meetings, inspections, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.

 

Travel Requirements:

  •  Travel may be required; the position is based out of the San Diego region, with travel for projects as needed in Orange, Los Angeles, or San Diego counties.


Qualification and Requirements


Experience Requirement: Demonstrates a working knowledge of commercial construction with a minimum of five years of experience in this area with a focus on Life Science and Pharmaceutical

 

· Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred. Additional certifications in OSHPD/HCAI regulations and construction safety are a plus

 

· Experience as Lead Superintendent for Life Science/Pharmaceutical projects

 

Project Experience: Project experience valued at $2 Million or greater as a Superintendent.

 

  • Minimum of 5 previous project experience managing Life Science/ Pharmaceutical

About the School of Computational Science and Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology

Georgia Tech is organized into six Colleges. The School of Computational Science and Engineering resides in the College of Computing along with the School of Computer Science, the School of Interactive Computing, the School of Cybersecurity and Privacy, and the School of Computing Instruction. Joint appointments with other Schools in the College of Computing as well as Schools in other Colleges are possible.

Job Summary

The School of Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) () at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA, U.S.A. invites applications for multiple openings for the position of Assistant Professor (tenure-track); openings for Associate Professor and Professor (tenured or tenure-track) are also available. All positions are full-time and are located in Atlanta, GA, U.S.A. The School of CSE focuses on foundational research of an interdisciplinary nature that enables advances in science, engineering, medical, and social domains. Candidates are expected to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the teaching and mentoring of students.



Responsibilities

Duties of these positions include developing and sustaining a research program in one or more of our core areas (research) high-performance computing, data science and visual analytics, scientific computing and simulation, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and computational bioscience and biomedicine. Duties also include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (classroom teaching), as well as providing service to the School, College and the Institute.



Required Qualifications

An earned PhD degree is required by the start date of the job, in a discipline relevant to the field of Computational Science and Engineering, including a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Science.



Preferred Qualifications

Applicants are expected to engage in substantive research with collaborators in other disciplines. For example, current faculty have domain expertise and/or collaborations in computational chemistry; earth sciences; biomedical and health sciences; urban systems and smart cities; social good and sustainable development; materials and manufacturing; and others.

Applicants are also expected to meet student success criteria, such as the ability to promote a welcoming educational/work environment.
