Position: Director - Manufacturing Maintenance and Projects

The Director - Manufacturing Maintenance and Projects will support the Facilities department with the implementation of a comprehensive capital management program for the Americas. The Director - Manufacturing Maintenance and Projects will have direct responsibility for projects up to $1MM and all maintenance activities for the region. Overall, the objective is to achieve high plant on stream factors utilizing the Kuraray maintenance tools provided and adapted to meet the needs of Calgon Carbon with site specific gap analysis and corrective action plans. Additionally, the Director - Manufacturing Maintenance and Projects will have a global responsibility as maintenance liaison with Kuraray in support of MTE and DX strategies.
Budget for minor projects (up to $1MM) is approximately $30MM for the US Plants. The maintenance budgets for the US plants total is $34MM, and the average annual turnaround spend for the Prime lines is another $5MM per year
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Identify project needs, oversee the creation of AR's, plan work, and execute projects for all America’s capital project requirements
- Manage others, train, and delegate these activities to subordinates to expedite improvement
- Oversee the development of all aspects of the America’s maintenance budget, including capital projects
- Strive to maintain spending at the budgeted level
- Serve as Calgon Carbon’s subject matter expert (SME) pertaining to maintenance in its virgin carbon manufacturing and reactivation facilities and liaison with Kuraray regarding all matters maintenance related
- Oversee the scheduling, planning, and execution of plant maintenance turnarounds on a basis consistent with the maintenance strategy
- Develop a maintenance strategy that aligns with the plants' goals to reduce product costs and reduce required maintenance capital
- Manage line managers responsible for supervising the day to day activities of maintenance teams while moving them toward self direction
- Identify training and development needs of maintenance teams and insure that those needs are met
- Manage vendor relationships personally and via subordinates to insure that plant needs (quality, costs, and timing) are met
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.), or equivalent from four-year college or university) is required
- Engineering degree required; electrical or mechanical preferred
- 10+ years Plant maintenance and mid-level management is required
- 10+ years Plant environment maintenance management experience is preferred

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor or Group Leader, the Blaster will perform tasks as necessary in the fabrication and maintenance of Calgon Carbon Corporation products and equipment. The worker will perform all assigned duties in compliance with all company and safety policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Abrasive blasts interior and exterior of tanks and piping systems to achieve the specified SSPC surface cleanliness and surface profile
- Assists sprayers as required
- Inspects interior and exterior lining and coating systems on purchased and produced equipment
- Coatings include but are not limited to:Plasite4110, 4006,Ceilcote242, epoxy, polyurethane-based coatings
- Prepares equipment for painting and coating by cleaning, solvent wiping, taping and papering prior to painting
- Mixes paint and linings in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
- Visually inspects own work for defects and noncompliance to specifications and makes necessary repairs
- Inspections will include both surface preparation and finished coatings
- Surface preparation verification in accordance with SSPC for cleanliness and surface profile
- Coating inspection will include dry film thickness gage use, holiday or spark testing
- Complete inspection result documentation.
- Ambient condition monitoring and reporting
- Wet bulb and dry bulb temperature, relative humidity and surface temperature to ensure application requirement compliance
- Operate fork trucks and overhead cranes while moving equipment in and out of paint booth

The IBM Consulting Learning and Knowledge (L&K) Americas Lead will be accountable for overall skills growth for our client-facing Consulting staff in the Americas and local execution of the global L&K strategy. This role will manage local L&K resources, be responsible for the Americas L&K budget, and coordinate with business leaders, L&K’s worldwide portfolio teams, and several shared services functions to ensure that priority education and credential needs are met within the budget.
Key responsibilities include engaging with Geography stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities, raising those needs with L&K’s global portfolio leads/senior strategists, end-to-end budget management, and delivering quality education aligned to business priorities and the broader people strategy.
Your role and responsibilities
- Engage Geography stakeholders (Geo General Manager, Operations Leader, Market Leaders Service Line leaders, etc.) as well as peers from within the Geo Talent Supply Chain (HR, Workforce Management, Talent Acquisition) as the “primary face of L&K” to the Geography.
- Team with other L&K roles (Portfolio Leads, Lead Learning Strategists, Delivery Leads, Shared Services Learning Consultants) in our organizational matrix to ensure coordination and alignment.
- Manage the L&K Geography budget, securing initial requirements in the Fall Plan, engaging with Geography leadership and Finance to agree a committed budget, manage budget changes through quarters and ensure the overall program stays within the annual/quarterly budget envelopes – all requiring close coordination with business operations leads as well as the various L&K Portfolio and Shared Services teams.
- Lead the L&K team in the Geography, including L&K Geo Operations/Finance and L&K Market Leaders. They will also serve as in-country managers for Faculty and Event Management support resources who are in the Shared Service teams.
- Oversee annual and quarterly education requirements capture and prioritization, working closely with L&K Portfolio and L&K Shared Services teams.
- Ensure quality education delivery that meets the prioritized Geography requirements and fits within the budget envelope. This will require close collaboration with L&K Portfolio and L&K Shared Services teams, who will be responsible for staffing and delivering the education programs.
Leaders are expected to spend time with their teams and clients and therefore are generally expected to be in the workplace a minimum of three days a week, subject to business needs.

You’ll coach and support your team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safe, efficient, and on‑time operations that keep our plant running smoothly. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Plans and directs daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for bird catching and transportation, ensuring a consistent supply of live poultry for plant processing.
- Supervises live haul truck drivers and coordinates with contracted catching crews to ensure timely delivery of birds to the plant.
- Ensures strict adherence to USDA guidelines, animal welfare standards, all safety program, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Manage departmental budgets and strategic objectives, including tracking, record-keeping, and reporting on financial variances.
- Communicate daily updates, progress, and issues to the processing plant and management.
What You’ll Need
- Education: High School Diploma/GED; College Degree in related field preferred.
- Experience: 1 or more years of previous supervisory experience with leadership skills of 20+ employees preferred. Poultry or food industry experience is a plus. Valid CDL preferred.
