Valor Healthcare is looking for a passionate Clinical Medical Director to join our team at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Williston, ND. In exchange for your dedication and experience, we are proud to offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits with up to appx 8 weeks of PTO.

Valor operates more than 55 VA CBOCs in the United States as a contractor for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. We provide a full range of medical services to veterans through the operations of CBOCs, tailored to meet the specific needs of local VA medical centers. Our comprehensive set of services includes primary care, diagnostics, laboratory, telehealth, behavioral health, and more.

As a Clinic Medical Director, you will be responsible for all clinical aspects of their individual CBOC. You will diagnose and treat diseases and injuries of human internal organ systems and deliver preventive treatment of primary care needs, including chronic disease management, of patients through routine physical examination and testing.

Core Responsibilities

• Actively participate and oversee the diagnoses and treatment of our veterans.
• Manage day to day medical operations, ensure high quality clinical expectations, and provide exceptional customer service.
• Achieve and maintain excellent clinical outcomes through periodic chart reviews, direct observation, and by abiding by VA guidelines.
• Ensure all colleagues provide excellent customer service to each veteran, both in person and over the phone, as well as to fellow colleagues and clinic visitors.
• Participate managing the clinic?s financial performance.
• Participate in the clinic?s outreach events to help support the clinic?s enrollment initiatives.
• Support patient enrollment and retention by providing guidance, when necessary, regarding scheduling, follow-up visits, or nurse visits.
• Maintain staffing levels consistent with veteran enrollment, contract terms, and to maintain clinical outcomes.? Review and analyze reporting/responsiveness to alerts and notifications.
• Ensure that all clinic metrics are at or above the VA threshold.
• Emphasize recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and retaining talent through excellent communication, training, enforcing key competencies, and performance management, when required.
• Develop and maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship with our VA partners, ensuring that the Regional Medical Director is kept informed of any significant issues.
• Innovate, embrace, and support new initiatives, whether clinical or operational, and execute on key strategic initiatives that drive the success of the Valor Business.

Requirements

Qualifications

• 4+ years clinical medical practice with healthcare management experience preferred; government healthcare environment preferred; specific requirements could vary based on individual VA contract.
• Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine Degree
• Board certified in family practice or internal medicine
• Must be credentialed and remain in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA).
• Valid, unrestricted license in the state of desired employment, or in any U.S. state or territory, depending on VA contractual requirements.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (must be renewed periodically as specified by the certifying agency ? AHA valid for two years, e.g.) and in ACLS as specified by individual VAMC contract
• Current, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Summary:

Assists nursing staff by transcribing physician's orders during emergent situations. Continuously observes, documents, and reports the cardiac rhythm status in the units and/or on telemetry. Performs clerical duties ensuring accuracy of unit records. Serves as communication center for nursing unit. Performs other duties as assigned by Director, Clinical Manager and Clinical Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Observe cardiac monitors, document and analyze rhythm strips as required.
• Recognize basic dysrhythmias and ST&T wave changes. Notifies appropriate nurse of any changes.
• Initiates--maintains daily telemetry charges. Responsible for care and location of all the telemetry transmitters.
• Maintains an organized work area and anticipate workflow activity patterns.
• Accurately transcribes physicians’ orders according to hospital policy. Alerts nursing staff of new or urgent orders promptly.
• Completes clerical work on admissions, transfers, discharges and prepares discharge charts and folder to be taken to Medical Records Department.
• Maintains charts during all phases of a patient’s hospital stay, including replenishing forms.
• Informs Housekeeping of dismissals to assure timely patient turnaround.
• Delivers valuables, lost and found articles, or personal belongings to Security for safekeeping.
• Daily computer entry and reconciliation of individual patient charges.
• Obtains needed supplies from SPD, Purchasing, Pharmacy, Lab and Linen as needed;
  assists in location of equipment and supplies.
• Serves as communication center for the nursing unit by:
  • Answering telephones, initiating calls and relaying communications.
  • Answers telephones promptly and courteously and identifies self by name and title.

Requirements:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmias courses required within three (3) months of employment.
• Medical Terminology preferred.

Experience:

• One year experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Certification, Registrations, or Licenses:

• BLS issued through American Heart Association preferred.

Summary

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Assists physicians with examinations and procedures to serve the medical needs of patients with various health conditions in a professional, confidential, and caring manner. Coordinates the flow of patients, phone calls, lab work, and nurse visits to facilitate quality patient care and customer service goals. Provides professional nursing care as prescribed by the physician and in compliance with the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act, any applicable licensure/certification requirement and organizational policies and procedures.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.

2. *Maintains flow of patients in accordance with time of appointment in order to avoid delays for the provider and undue waiting for patients.

3. *Keeps the exam rooms clean, disinfected and stocked with necessary supplies.

4. *Obtains vital signs, reason for visit, allergies and list of medications from the patient and prepares patient for the visit.

5. *Assists the medical provider with all examinations and procedures.

6. *Schedules outpatient follow-up procedures/ appointments and specialty appointments.

7. *Collects subjective and objective data and contributes to the assessment of the patient; documents appropriately in the patient chart.

8. *Makes accurate and timely observations and documents changes in the patients condition in the patient chart.

9. *Retrieves messages and responds to calls from patients, pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes and other medical offices by use of telephone and computer in a timely manner as delegated by licensed heath care provider (MD, RN, PA, NP).

10. *Explains tests and preparation as needed for adequate patient education.

11. Monitors inventory of supplies and communicates information to Office Manager.

12. *Administers injections, vital signs, vision and auditory testing as delegated.

13. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program required. Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Nebraska required.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:

Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network.

• Fabricate custom impression trays
