Responsibilities

The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and adequacy of resources. The RN possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects. A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle as a part of the responsibility of their role.

Qualifications

Graduate of a nursing program.

All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date of April 1, 2020 and after must provide documented evidence of program completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date.

All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date prior to April 1, 2020 must provide documented evidence of program completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing program as stipulated by the degree requirement program in place at time of hire.

One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Experience working in a team environment. Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting. Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills.

License or Certification: Current RN license by applicable state requirements. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Positions that are not on campus may not require current Basic Life Support (BLS) competency as determined by the work area.

Qualifications You Must Have:

    • Experience with PCB manufacturing or CCA manufacturing principles that affect circuitry and component layout with RF specific layout techniques

    • Experience with the electrical design process including RF layout

  • Use of Valor NPI, Design for Manufacturing rule sets, other Design Rule Checking software

  • Able to understand and interpret drawings as they relate to PCB’s and CCA’s

  • Familiarity with IPC 6012 & IPC 6013

  • Working knowledge of military and commercial design standards, GD&T techniques, and overall producibility considerations related to electronic packaging

  • Knowledge of RF circuitry and key care abouts when it come to laying out the board along with filter knowledge

Position Title: Coord, Patient Flow                                         
Department: Regional Referral Center

Schedule:

  • 20 hours per week, day shift hours
  • Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Purpose: Oversees bed management, including patients who are being admitted, transferred and discharged.  Key accountabilities includes: serves as a contact person for patient care area staff, physicians and health related facilities; evaluates patient needs, appropriate level of care, referring facility capability, predicts bed availability and admission/discharge trends; facilitates bed briefings; understands hospital patient patient placement priorities; participates in quality oversight, ensures EMTALA compliance and also services are provided efficiently according to Genesis Medical Center and department standards.

Report To: Manager, Regional Referral Center

Supervisory Responsibility: Guidance: The job requires the provision of occasional guidance and training to others. The job does not have formal or official supervisory responsibilities.

Materials Responsibility: Limited:  Work requires limited responsibility for material resources.  Examples of resources could include supplies, equipment, inventories, small budgets, and other similar material assets.  The employee has a limited amount of control over these resources.  The cost of errors is also limited in terms of damage, waste or financial loss.  Problems associated with material resources are not complex.  The volume of resources may vary, but the level of difficulty in dealing with these resources is uncomplicated.

Key Relationship: Co-workers/Health System Employees, Outside Agencies/Other Health Care Providers, General Public/Visitors/Volunteers, Physicians/Medical Office Staff, Patients, Families, and Significant Others, Third Party Payors/Insurance Companies.

  • Education: Associate's Degree
  • Field Of Study: Nursing
  • Special Training: Keyboarding, Windows, Word
  • Training Preferred: Critical Care or triage experience; Cerner experience; Charge Nurse or supervisory experience; Baccalaureate degree in Nursing; Illinois RN licensure
  • Licensure/Registration: Registered Nurse in Iowa; Registered Nurse in Illinois within 6 months
  • Experience: More than 2 years experience required

Interpersonal Skills: Interaction is with a variety of people inside or outside the organization. Communications are of moderate difficulty and sensitivity. Contact with others may involve detailed & lengthy dialogues & exchanges of information. Requires a moderate amount of interpersonal skills. Interactions involve dealing with moderately complicated problem situations or stressful encounters.

Physical Demands: Low Intensity: Work requires a light or low amount of physical exertion. The job requirements for manual dexterity or physical manipulation are limited.  The need for physical stamina and endurance is of minimal or low significance.  The degree of physical strain produced on the job is somewhat taxing, but does not usually produce fatigue and require periods of rest.  Freedom of movement exists, and the job does not confine the employee to a prescribed body posture.  Body movement usually involves sitting and intermittent walking.  The position exceeds these low intensity demands rarely, 10% of the time or less.

Working Conditions: There is limited exposure to moderately adverse and undesirable environmental conditions.  There are some health and safety risks. Position may require safety equipment and precautions.  The amount of time the employee may experience these moderate conditions is limited to 10% or less of their work day.

Position Purpose:

In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors the registered nurse of the system transfer center should accurately listen and respond appropriately to requests made by transferring physicians, hospitals, and peers. To ensure patients are assigned rooms in an expedient manner, this position will utilize all critical resources within the organization to expedite this process. This position should give high priority to customer service and complete customer satisfaction. This position must ensure all paperwork and computer entry is checked for accuracy and continually enhances their knowledge regarding processes. This position will coordinate the successful transfer and placement of patients entering via the Transfer Center access. This position will effectively communicate with the surgery department, emergency department, nursing units, physician offices, bed schedulers, and outlying facilities to ensure appropriate placement of patients in a timely manner. This position must be able to adjust through a rapidly changing environment. This position will participate in personal and professional growth, development, and continuous improvement in all critical success factors of people, service, quality, financial, and growth. This position will be required to work weekends, holidays, and be on call as scheduled. The registered nurse collaborates in the spirit of teamwork is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of Mount Carmel Health System.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Education: BSN degree preferred
  • Licensure / Certification: Licensed as an RN in state of Ohio
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years nursing experience, 2 years critical care experience preferred.
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Ability to manage situations related to family and visitors, patients of varied ages and needs, physicians and other hospital departments

OIC Communications Specialist

The Operational Intelligence Center (OIC) is a sophisticated command center dedicated to providing exceptional customer service to retail centers across North America. As an OIC Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering top-notch customer service through telephone interactions with customers and tenants, supporting security operations via radio communications, and monitoring video surveillance systems. This role requires outstanding computer skills, the ability to master multiple applications, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service in every interaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone and radio calls.
  • Communicate effectively with callers to gather complete information and determine the appropriate level of service, including dispatching police, fire, medical, security, or property management.
  • Collaborate with on-site security personnel to resolve incidents.
  • Provide pre-arrival emergency or medical instructions to law enforcement or fire personnel.
  • Escalate and coordinate incidents with the OIC Supervisor.
  • Interpret site maps, and computer-aided design maps.
  • Familiarize yourself with the layout and current threats and challenges of multiple retail centers.
  • Maintain confidentiality of policies, procedures, emergency response information, and administrative materials.
  • Master several computer applications for data logging, information navigation, and customer support.
  • Understand and follow emergency and evacuation procedures for assigned retail centers.
  • Identify and respond effectively to suspicious criminal activity.
  • Operate and monitor surveillance cameras and programs, ensuring all equipment functions properly.
  • Support record management and data collection efforts, including video documentation and investigation assistance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a public or private safety organization or dispatching and or call center/customer service experience.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a video surveillance environment or equivalent training/experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree in Criminal Justice.
  • Emergency telecommunicator certificate- if you do not have your ETC, we provide the opportunity to earn your certificate.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Capable of performing regular equipment checks and reporting failures.
  • Ability to operate technical monitoring equipment and manage information security programs.
  • Professional demeanor, good judgment, and discretion.
  • Ability to work overtime and specified shifts in a command center environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute.
  • Must be able to multitask in between multiple software programs.
