Job Responsibilities

1. Minimum Qualification

Ph.D. from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field with a focus on AI, NLP (natural language processing), machine learning, or data science.

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in Deep Learning and LLMs(Large Language Models): Knowledge in building applications and fine-tuning models like Llama 3, Gemma, Mistral AI, and others.
Multimodal Learning Experience: Demonstrated experience in integrating and processing multiple data modalities (text, audio, video, images) using AI/ML techniques.
Programming Proficiency: Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and associated libraries.
Research Excellence: Proven track record of publications in high-impact journals and conferences in relevant fields.
Collaborative Mindset: Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, with strong communication and leadership skills.

The Boston Consulting Group’s AI Science Institute (AISI) is launching a postdoctoral fellowship program designed to empower the next generation of applied science leaders. This elite, industry-adjacent program offers PhDs and early-career scientists the opportunity to work on some of the world’s most complex and high-impact scientific problems using cutting-edge AI, in collaboration with top-tier partners across aerospace, healthcare, energy, and materials science. 

Fellows will operate at the intersection of foundational research, real-world deployment, and strategic impact, helping shape breakthrough workstreams with AISI partners. 

Unlike traditional academic or big-tech postdocs, AISI fellows work on problems where the science, the data, and the deployment context are all partially undefined. Fellows are expected not only to advance models or methods, but to shape problem formulation, data strategy, and downstream impact alongside senior scientists, engineers, and industry leaders. 

What You'll Bring

• Lead or contribute to multi-disciplinary research initiatives that apply machine learning, simulation, optimization, or GenAI to real-world scientific domains.

About the Team

The primary responsibility of the Logistics Modeling team is to intelligently and efficiently plan how CarMax moves vehicles across its nationwide network. Each year, CarMax completes over 2 million vehicle moves, and our data scientists develop algorithms that determine which moves are executed by CarMax and which are handled by third-party logistics partners. For the moves CarMax completes, the team generates detailed plans specifying exactly which vehicles each driver will transport and when. Position Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of engineers focused on the design, analysis, and testing of aircraft systems and components, with an unwavering commitment to safety.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 5+ years of experience as a Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or Technical Standard Order (TSO) Certification Specialist.
• 9+ years of experience in RTCA DO-178(B/C) Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification
• 5+ years’ experience in software engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
• 12+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Current Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or Technical Standard Order (TSO) Certification Specialist
• Experience with concurrent software and distributed systems
• 12+ years’ experience in software development life cycles, configuration management and best agile software engineering practices
• 9+ years’ experience developing, documenting and maintaining architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
• 9+ years’ experience leading software development projects
• Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
• Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics
• Experience using common software version control tools such as Git
• Experience with Agile planning tool such as JIRA, TSF

As a Flight Controls Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be part of the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Team. You will design, implement, integrate, and test flight control laws for all phases of operation including autotaxi, auto-takeoff, autoland, and automatic rollout. You integrate real-world hardware and C/C++ flight software as part of ongoing flight test programs, and perform simulation analysis and data reduction in our Python and C/C++ modeling & simulation environment.

Responsibilities

• Establish autoflight and flight control system requirements

• Interface with Pilots and Operations team to develop flight test plans, respond to squawks, and communicate design updates

• Design and analyze flight control laws from conceptual design through implementation and certification

• Develop simulation models to evaluate flight control system performance and stability

• Implement control laws and algorithms in flight software

• Test flight software in simulation, Monte Carlo, hardware-in-loop, and flight

Basic Success Criteria

• BS in aerospace engineering, robotics, or equivalent field

• 3+ years of hands on, professional experience developing and testing flight controls algorithms

• Experience with flight dynamics simulation and model identification

• Professional experience with developing C/C++ flight software and Python data reduction & analysis

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Criteria

• MS in aerospace engineering, robotics, or similar advanced degree

• Current pilot, instrument or commercial ratings
