Role Description

The City Attorney is the legal counsel for the City and advises the City Council, boards and commissions, and City staff.Β The City Attorney’s Office consists of a team of 3 and prepares and reviews ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other documents.Β The City Attorney and staff serve as City Prosecutor in the adjudication of violations of City ordinances and represents the City and its officials and employees in civil litigation, and/or supervises outside counsel in handling such litigation.Β The City Attorney manages a budget of $2.7 million.


In general, the City Attorney’s Office provides the legal services necessary to accomplish the programs of the City’s policy makers according to legal requirements.Β The City Attorney reports to and serves at the will of the City Council and has the following duties:

  • Attends all meetings of the City Council and certain designated commission and board meetings as requested by City officials;Β 
  • Is responsible for the preparation for approval of all legal documents brought before the City Council for its consideration;Β 
  • Renders legal advice to the City Council and the various City department heads or staff members upon request or in the best interests of the City;
  • Represents the City at various meetings with citizens, community groups, or individuals doing business with the City;Β 
  • Participates in labor negotiations, investigations, and other employee related matters;
  • Appears in court as the City’s legal representative in all actions for or against the City;

Primary Duties:

  • Operates and documents all aspects of the Cath Lab including all procedures performed in the Cath Lab. Assists in the recording, storing, retrieval and analyzing data obtained during the interventional cardiovascular procedures. Assists in monitoring patients. Including Hemodynamic data/ECG/Angiographic data. Recognition of changes of the above, documenting as necessary and reporting to physician and other team members in a time sensitive fashion. Assists with preparation of radiologic and other laboratory equipment to be used during the procedure while adhering to the principles of aseptic/sterile technique. Maintains and evaluates equipment, and troubleshoots equipment as needed. Responsible for the proper use and operation of all related interventional equipment. Properly positions patient for procedure and informs patient what to expect during the procedure as well as any instructions that the patient needs to follow. Participates in data collection and results reporting for ongoing quality improvement.

  • Maintains a clean, safe, prepared work environment. Prepares room for procedure. Cleans and sterilizes equipment and procedure table. Restocks and requests room supplies that have dwindled. Checks drug supplies and informs the appropriate person of what needs to be replenished.

  • Maintains current knowledge, certification, and licensure. Identifies learning needs in self and initiates actions to address these education needs. Attends continuing education programs to maintain certification. Attends hospital sponsored training programs as required by the department Completes all mandatory requirements, certifications, and licensure within allotted time for completion.

  • Works effectively within and between departments.   • Assures that the appropriate sterile instruments are available Assures that all personnel have a dosimeter badge Creates quarterly exposure reports for the Radiation Safety Committee. Maintains records of yearly lead surveys. Qualifications:

  • Vocational/Technical Diploma or associate degree in Radiology.

  • 5-7 years' Cath Lab experience preferred.

  • ARRT license as Registered Radiation Technologist in Maryland.

  • CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) within 90 Days.

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).

Gastroenterology Physician locums opportunity in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, offering inpatient advanced GI coverage with flexible block scheduling.


Highlights

  • Advanced GI focus with ERCP and EUS
  • 12-hour onsite shifts with night call
  • One to two weeks per month preferred
  • Ongoing assignment with temp privileges available


Practice Setting

  • 239-bed inpatient facility
  • Supervision of one APP
  • Adult patient population
  • Dedicated endoscopy and hospital support teams


Schedule

  • 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM onsite coverage
  • 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM night call
  • 15-minute response time
  • Recurring monthly blocks


Cases and Procedures

  • 15 to 20 patients per day
  • Approximately 5 procedures daily
  • ERCP and EUS required
  • Inpatient consults and advanced endoscopy


Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterology Physician
  • Active Oklahoma license or IMLC LOQ
  • ACLS certification
  • Fellowship training, including ERCP
