Job Description:


AGE Solutions is looking for a Cable Technician to join our team onsite at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA in support of our DoD customer. Due to the nature of work this role entails, telecommuting is not permitted and will require the employee to report full-time onsite.


The Cable Technician is responsible for installation and documentation of new and/or updated Inside Plant cable infrastructure to include conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber and all associated elements in the Pentagon, Mark Center & buildings within the National Capital Region (NCR).


Responsibilities Include:



  • Analyzes, administers, and maintains telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
  • Responsible for tasks assigned by Coordinators in connection with service orders and repair activities related to Category 6 cabling, Voice over IP networks (VOIP), and fiber optic cabling infrastructure.
  • Installs, maintains and repairs voice and data communications systems.
  • Interprets service orders, circuit diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • Tests, locates, installs, and repairs cabling infrastructure associated with trouble calls, and performs routine maintenance.
  • Verifies work order information and receipt of all necessary equipment and information.
  • Verifies service by testing installed cabling, identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
  • Well versed in the use of network cabling test equipment including network testers, copper cable testers, fiber OTDRs and fiber power meters.
  • Documents network by labeling and routing equipment and cables; recording configuration diagrams and specifications.
  • Maintains network by troubleshooting and repairing outages; testing network back-up procedures; updating documentation.
  • Identify, track and remove abandoned cable, and keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards.
  • Dress, terminate and test cables and components including CAT6 and fiber optic cabling.
  • Must follow JSP and commercial best practice procedures, standards required for installation of cable racks, wiring of the racks and testing required during installation.

Duties and Responsibilities

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.

Understands, implements, maintains and assists the processing of millions of gallons of wastewater entering the plant and following various biological, mechanical and chemical processes to return treated waters meeting state and federal safety standards back into the environment.

Performs routine to complex maintenance and repair duties of water equipment and facilities; collects water samples for testing; performs and records chemical adjustments and laboratory sampling and testing; ascertains treatment performance and quality; monitors and sets chlorine machinery to obtain proper chemical usage readings; operates and maintains pump stations; records daily pump readings, records flows, time of flows, pressures, and chemical usage.

Performs clerical duties, data entry, process control, calculations and runs quantitative and qualitative analysis and interprets data for performance evaluation.

Runs vacuum building system; collects samples from off sight station; receives chemical deliveries on and off sight; maintains and monitors backwash filter.

Checks plant equipment and troubleshoots plant problems; diagnoses, troubleshoots and writes work orders when a malfunction has been discovered; performs frequent rounds checking the status of water and wastewater treatment units, tanks and machines; performs a variety of routine cleaning activities in order to ensure the safety and cleanliness of facility/treatment plant; proper start up and shut down of different tanks and pumps according to conditions and supervisor directives; resets plant to proper operating conditions caused by storms and power outages.

Computes a variety of work orders to document treatment plant activity, request maintenance, repairs, and compile statistics for periodic reports.

Monitors treatment plant operations to ensure compliance with State and County regulations standards and verifies process is operating efficiently and effectively; checks on storage and inventory of chemicals.

Position description

The Bancroft Library seeks an inclusive, innovative, user-centered, and collaborative individual to join the Public Services team as the Instruction and Outreach Librarian. Reporting to the Head of Public Services, the Instruction and Outreach Librarian will design and lead instruction and outreach activities that engage constituent communities and promote the use of The Bancroft Library's collections. Serving as a work lead for the instruction team, which includes the Instruction Specialist, this role is responsible for collaborating cross functional teams within and outside The Bancroft (including curators, archivists, librarians, faculty, graduate students, and the general public), and coordinating the workflow for all teaching and learning activity. This role is also responsible for developing pedagogical approaches that move beyond lecture-based show-and-tell and engage users by developing critical archival literacy through inquiry-based learning, building a community of practice with archivists, educators, and community members. Through coordinating workflows and developing meaningful pedagogies, the Instruction and Outreach Librarian will promote inclusive practices and exhibit a commitment to accessibility in the development and delivery of services and programs. As a member of the Public Services team, this position is also responsible for assisting with reading room operations and answering reference questions.

  • Leads the work of the team involved in designing instruction and outreach, which includes the Instruction Specialist, members of the curatorial team, and librarians and archivists, introducing the campus community and public to The Bancroft Library's vast holdings, critical archival literacy, and research skills.

  • Explores and implements new pedagogical approaches in experiential teaching and learning to engage users in research and critical interpretation using special collections materials.

AGE Solutions is seeking a VTC Lead. The position under general supervision to assist in developing and supporting technical requirement solutions for Audio Visual (AV), Video Telepresence (VTC), Digital Signage (DS), and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) systems. This role researches and collaborates with vendors to support Government troubleshooting, installation, and configuration of system components. The Engineer ensures accurate technical solutions, provides expert analysis and recommendations, and supports continuous improvement through business process development and optimization.


This position requires on-site support and is based out of Battle Creek, MI.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Assist in developing technical requirement solutions for AV/VTC/DS/IPTV products and services
  • Research, evaluate, and collaborate with vendors to support Government troubleshooting and sustainment efforts
  • Support installation, configuration, and integration of system components across enterprise environment
  • Provide expert analysis and guidance on IT/technical solutions supporting AV and collaboration technologies
  • Ensure technical recommendations are accurate, feasible, and aligned with customer needs
  • Support complex technical requirements development, including feasibility studies and gap analysis
  • Define and develop improved business process solutions to increase operational efficiency
  • Conduct business process reengineering efforts and recommend enhancements based on industry best practices
  • Support forecasting, planning, and technical roadmap development using industry trends and best practices
  • Support dual classification video conferencing solutions in secure environments as required

Required Qualifications:



  • Five (5) years of relevant experience with AV/VTC/DS/IPTV solutions
  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance at a minimum
  • Must have one (1) of the following certifications:

    • AMX Technician (Networked AV) Certification, or
    • Crestron CTI Technician Track Certification, or
    • AVIXA CTS Certification


  • Demonstrated experience working with:

    • Crestron
    • Cisco
    • Biamp / AMX
    • Extron


  • Experience supporting troubleshooting, installation, and configuration of AV/VTC system components
  • Ability to research, evaluate, and collaborate with vendors to support technical problem resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to provide accurate technical recommendations and expert analysis on IT solutions
  • Experience conducting feasibility studies and/or gap analysis for technical requirements
  • Experience defining and improving business processes, including business process reengineering
  • Ability to support forecasting and planning efforts using industry best practices.
  • Location: This position is onsite at our customer's location in Battle Creek, MI, requiring up to 10% travel (CONUS).

Compensation: $70k+
