About this Position:
We are seeking an Indirect Procurement Logistics Category Manager to lead sourcing strategy / category management for logistics services within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
The Indirect Procurement Category Manager is accountable for managing the total N.A. Company spend for a defined category (capex, goods, services, it, logistics, etc) in excess of $250m annually.
The category manager is accountable and responsible for managing procurement and contracts to drive value to both Honda and business users. This position is also responsible for identifying opportunities and effectively implement sourcing solutions. Doing so requires strategic analysis and problem solving by engaging and leading business users / leadership to implement change, understanding Honda’s current position versus market opportunities, and an excellent ability to negotiate along with strong financial and business acumen.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute category strategies for inbound, outbound, and warehousing logistics
- Lead RFQs/RFPs, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management
- Drive cost optimization, service reliability, and risk mitigation across logistics providers
- Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing and Supply Chain
- Monitor market trends and ensure compliance with company policies
- Lead the development and execution of category strategies that are aligned with the organization's objectives, seeking to maximize Honda’s spend under contract and improve Honda’s cost position for indirect goods and services
- Lead the category to establish and achieve SEQCDM performance targets, monitor progress and implement countermeasures when necessary
- Responsible for category’s legal and commercial supplier contracts executed to protect Honda and business users
- Responsible to implement category strategies through effective communication, negotiation, collaboration, and internal business analysis across Honda north America sites (mfg., sales, R&D).
- Accountable to place Honda and end users first by understanding the 3a’s and customer (upstream, downstream, and end-user) viewpoint in all category strategies and supplier contracts
- Responsible for supplier performance that meets contractual requirements and end user expectations. Elevate and problem solve using an established supplier working and executive network
- Lead development of network consisting of internal Honda relationships and external supplier relationships to achieve category strategies
- Accountable for category team’s performance management; resource and succession planning - building associate talent through regular mentoring, performance feedback and development planning
Who we are seeking:

- 10-12 years’ experience based on education and work history (preferred experience either in a procurement role, or in a field with transferable knowledge and skills).

Job PurposeThis position exists to support Honda and non-Honda after-market service supply chain. Using the Honda supply base as well as the global network of HT offices, external strategic partnerships, and our internal expertise, we purchase and deliver parts with a focus on strengthening global procurement capabilities. Additionally, to explore potential sales growth opportunities with ‘outside group sales’ activity, selling our experience and expertise to support non-Honda customers with needed business activity.
This role within the Service Parts team exists to purchase, manage inventory, and sell parts or components for the after-market supply opportunities and quotations with new and existing business partners. Role will include supplier management, coordinating third party logistic partner transportation and warehouse services, project design and execution, as well as providing a high-level of customer service to Business Partners.
Key Accountabilities- Coordinate overall project activity that will include part set-up; working with Suppliers and other internal/external Business Partners to ensure necessary information is collected, reviewed and processed to set up project to meet business needs. Contract review and negotiation, service requirement communications, understanding of Country of Origin requirements and proper parts classification review, basic part specifications as well as packing information are expected to be captured in a workable format for reference and proper usage for project.
- Develop strategic quotation for customer which reflects understanding of customer’s business requirements, supply chain capabilities, and project parameters; consider and analyse all costs to ensure accuracy, sound logic and profitability; review cost logic with internal team members and management for validation and agreement; present final quotation to customer clearly and effectively.
- Manage Supplier relationships including negotiate pricing with suppliers, ensure requests are made following project requirements and review for accuracy and competitiveness; ensure business terms are agreed on and in place prior to new project start-up, including order/shipping flow, service requirement for mass production timing as well as non-current timing in a method that supports Parts business and sales growth.
- Using MRP analysis, support review of safety stock levels, accurate order quantities and negotiations to ensure appropriate stock on hand. Escalation concerns timely with leadership and customer, identify problems and create solutions to support customer service initiatives.
- Third Party Business Partner management; ensure inventory is managed to proper on-hand, allocating, prioritization requirements. Packing material is on-hand for inbound and outbound requirements, pricing is within expected range for all activity, transportation is set according to transportation matrix and billed appropriately, on-time delivery and other KPI’s reviewed and reported on accurately.
- Coordinate parts moving from production to E-Coater to ensure on-time and good quality result.
- Review Business Partner invoices, open costs and other accounting related needs to ensure all accounts and financials are cleared timely and accurately.
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Business Administration, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or other applicable field or adequate experience in related field
- 5-7 years in sales/customer service experience ideally in supply chain or related field

About this Position:
The Asset Management Sr. Specialist is responsible for the lifecycle of regional packaging assets, ensuring optimal utilization, maintenance, and compliance with industry standards. This role involves leading collaborative cross-functional teams and external entities across the US to manage packaging inventory, track asset performance, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and ensure uninterrupted flow of assets supporting auto production.
This role also focuses on medium-to-complex tasks and is crucial in ensuring asset viability. Other key areas include monthly budget reporting, KPI Achievements, PDCA / GAP Analysis, quarterly Supplier Repair bill backs and asset retirement compliance.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage accuracy of systems required for regional packaging asset inventory management including analysis of asset velocity, usage, condition and location.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the use of packaging assets, reduce waste and improve cost efficiency.
- Lead Build-Out / New Model Packaging Transitions to ensure pack readiness guaranteeing a seamless model changeover and zero supply chain and production impact.
- Lead for the region overseeing operations required to ensure regular maintenance and repair of packaging assets to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
- Develop and execute packaging innovations across the HDMA North American warehouse and repair facilities to meet strategic and cost objectives in the area of loss elimination.
- Complex problem solving and detailed gap analysis. Prepare accurate quarterly Supplier Bill Back of OEM repair cost to ensure accounting compliance.
- Asset retirement management ensuring tax compliance.
