US Farathane Orion is seeking a full-time Shipping & Receiving Clerk on our 1st and 3rd shift.
Shipping/Receiving Clerk assures the shipment of parts in an orderly fashion, so the shipments arrive on time and in good condition according to customer demands.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- All cartons containing parts are to be stored/shipped in good condition.
- Parts are to be prepared for shipment per the shipping schedule using FIFO and according to the individual customer packaging instructions. If parts are not available for shipment at the designated time, it must be brought to the immediate attention of the Warehouse Supervisor/Shipping & Receiving Supervisor.
- Transfer parts from warehouse to shipment staging. Ensure parts are scanned, wrapped and have master labels. Check dock codes as required per customer.
- All shipments are to be completed on a timely basis to ensure availability of commercial transport.
- Process shipments through the system to ensure timely advance shipping notification and record keeping.
- Once an ASN has been started, you must monitor the process until completion to ensure that no errors have occurred during the transmission.
- Scan labels for shipment.
- Review shippers. Verify through computer with pick list.
- Follow and enforce safety standards for the operation of the forklift trucks.
- Load/unload trucks, driving hilo's in a safe manner by maintaining safe driving speeds, having an acute awareness of all surroundings, stopping at all cross aisles.
- Anytime the larger returnables are stacked for transport from the production floor to the warehouse they are to be transported immediately and not left stacked unattended for any period of time.
- Verify quantities on incoming shipments. Acknowledge receipts with signature and date received. Complete packing list if none is included with shipment. Complete log-In sheet.
- Ensure dock lock procedure is followed.
- Ensure that the procedure is being followed for the Key Surrender Board and tires are chocked.
- Ensure CTPAT procedure is followed.
- Drive company vehicle required for pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain lot number identification for customers requiring same.
- Label parts and shipments as directed by the shipping schedule.
- Repack, re label and re wrap as necessary
- Retrieve finished inventory that is put on hold. Re wrap and put away when released from hold. Arrange in orderly manner for Quality to sort.
- Replace racking, decking, nuts, and bolts as necessary.
- Keep counts on skids and returnables.
- Keep all areas of warehouse and docks clean, organized, and clear of debris and resin.
- Do monthly inventories as needed and verify numbers.
- Assist in training for new Shipping/Receiving Clerk and/or back up Shipping/Receiving Clerk.
- When using anything sharp, must wear cut gloves on both hands.
- Perform other duties as required for the safe, efficient operation of the Plant and its employees.
- Advise Supervisor or Manager whenever a short ship occurs prior to allowing truck to leave.
- Match returnable containers to documents on incoming trucks. Ensure accuracy and report discrepancies.
- Participate in 5-S and CI.
- Supervisory Responsibilities- In the event that this position becomes vacant, the Warehouse Manager will resume responsibilities.
- Environmental Responsibilities- Cooperation with action team directives. Familiar with evacuation plans. Trained in clean up modules. Keep all areas of warehouse and docks clean, organized, and clear of debris and resin.

Responsibilities*
Assisting the Department Chair
- Draft, edit, format, and proof communications, documents, reports, presentations, and other technical writing using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dropbox, Outlook, Google Workspace, and website editing software. Requires understanding of the Department's strategic objectives and related data, with the ability to produce high-quality work products independently.
- Manage complex calendar for the Department Chair.
- Schedule meetings for Department Leadership, often coordinating with high-level University contacts in a professional and efficient manner.

- Coordinate on- and off-campus departmental events in partnership with Department leadership and the Communications Specialist, ensuring event objectives are met. Duties include managing event budgets and logistics (room scheduling, equipment, vendor relations, catering, invitations, RSVPs, and communications), and tracking and documenting follow-up activities as needed. Key annual events include the Department's picnic, faculty retreat, and annual retreat.
Access and Human Resources Assistance
- Provide limited support for student temporary appointments, including preparing job postings and offer letters, processing appointments, and assisting with onboarding and offboarding.
- Manage Department building access, key requests, and Level 2 access, ensuring all necessary lab safety training requirements are met prior to granting access.
- Collaborate with the Children on Campus Program and EHS to support high school appointments, including coordinating the Genetics Immersion Program and assisting with high school students working in faculty labs during the summer.
Faculty Affairs Assistance
- Assist with the faculty recruitment process, including arranging candidate visit schedules; coordinating air and ground travel reservations, hotel accommodations, and detailed travel itineraries; and preparing necessary materials. Serve as the primary contact and escort for faculty candidates. Support the appointment process for newly selected faculty in collaboration with the Office of Faculty Affairs and Department Leadership, and help onboard new faculty members.
- Assist with the faculty promotion process in coordination with Office of Faculty Affairs and Department Leadership.
- Support faculty appointments in partnership with the Office of Faculty Affairs and Department Leadership, including emeritus and adjunct appointment renewals, LEO lecturer renewals, appointment changes, faculty retirements, and terminations. Assist with both onboarding of new faculty and offboarding of departing faculty.
Programmatic Support
- Support Department-sponsored academic activities, including coordinating student and research fellow attendance at the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) conference and organizing the Department's alumni event at ASHG. Also assist with staff and faculty attendance for student recruitment efforts at the ABRCMS conference.
- Provide support for the Department's two summer academic programs: the Genetics Immersion Program, which introduces high school students to genetics, and the Summer Student Program, which engages undergraduate students to learn about our master's and PhD programs in genetics.
Primary Purchasing Back-up
- Serve as the primary purchasing back-up for the Department helping to process M-Marketsite carts when the Purchasing Clerk is out of the office.
General Front Office Support
- Serve as a key front office contact, sharing responsibilities such as answering phones, accepting packages, greeting visitors, opening and closing the office, cleaning up after hosted events, scheduling conference rooms, and distributing mail. Submit general fund facility work orders as needed.
- Provide administrative support to other faculty members as needed, including coordinating complex travel arrangements and scheduling large meetings.

- Lead change management for major improvements: stakeholder mapping, communication plans, training, adoption measurement, and reinforcement to ensure changes stick.
- Identify, prioritize, and lead operational improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, quality, speed, and customer outcomes.
- Develop and manage project plans, including scope, timelines, deliverables, resources, and risks across the entire organization.
- Establish and support enterprise operating cadence (KPIs, recurring reviews, action logs, follow-through).
- Act as a liaison between departments, ensuring smooth information flow and timely follow-up.
- Collaborate with project teams to foster collaboration and ensure project objectives are met.
- Prepare regular project status reports and present clear decision-oriented updates to the Chief Operating Officer and other executive stakeholders.
- Lead development and governance of enterprise process documentation, including SOPs, workflows, templates, and playbooks.

Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in a engineering, business or other related field
- 5+ years of progressive professional experience in operations, business process improvement, project management, or related field
- 2+ years of experience working/managing projects for executive leadership
- Experience with planning, organizing, and establishing priorities to achieve results
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Experience building and operating KPI or OKR systems and an executive operating cadence.
- Experience creating business cases and supporting executive-level prioritization decisions.
- Consulting experience is a plus, but not a requirement
