In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing processes that ensure products are built safely, efficiently, and right the first time. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, supply partners, and engineering teams to bring designs into production and continuously improve performance. This position offers high visibility, strong leadership interaction, and the opportunity to influence both current production and future manufacturing strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and refine manufacturing processes that support high-quality, cost-effective production.
  • Create and maintain production routings, work instructions, inspection criteria, and validation plans.
  • Apply GD&T principles, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing best practices to ensure robust designs.
  • Design or evaluate fixtures, tooling, and equipment; recommend automation where beneficial.
  • Partner with external suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure adherence to technical requirements.
  • Identify process gaps, solve manufacturing issues, and implement mistake-proofing solutions.
  • Support new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Champion safety by integrating safe design principles into manufacturing processes.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related discipline).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Solid understanding of metal tolerances, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and manufacturing limitations.
  • Experience developing processes, work instructions, and production documentation.
  • Exposure to ERP systems and structured project work.
  • Ability to translate engineering intent into manufacturable solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally at all levels of an organization.
  • Effective communication skills—written, verbal, and technical.


Compensation Range: $100,000 - $130,000 + 10% Bonus

Riverfront Machine is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to support our metal stamping and manufacturing operations, with a strong emphasis on supporting inventory control activities. This role is critical to ensuring raw materials are available to meet production demands while assisting in maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting efficient shipping and logistics processes.


The ideal candidate leads by example, maintains a positive and solutions-focused attitude, and works collaboratively with production, scheduling, inventory, and shipping teams. A background in manufacturing and shipping or logistics is strongly preferred.


Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Material Planning

  • Source and purchase raw materials, components, and supplies to support CNC machining, press operations, welding, and fabrication schedules.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery, competitive pricing, and quality compliance.
  • Forecast material requirements based on production schedules, usage trends, and sales forecasts.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address delivery delays, shortages, or quality concerns.


Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control processes, including cycle counts, reconciliations, and physical inventory audits.
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance production needs while minimizing excess, slow-moving, or obsolete inventory.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy and material flow.


Production Support

  • Work closely with production, scheduling, and leadership teams to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
  • Proactively identify and resolve material shortages, supply chain disruptions, or bottlenecks.
  • Support production planning by providing timely and accurate material availability data.


Reporting & Analysis

  • Generate and maintain reports related to purchasing activity, inventory levels, usage trends, and supplier performance.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, supplier improvements, and process efficiencies.
  • Support management with data-driven recommendations.


Qualifications

Required

  • 2–3 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of raw material planning, inventory control systems, and procurement processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.


Preferred

  • Background in manufacturing, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • Experience in metal stamping, machining, or industrial manufacturing environments.
