Overview:

Miami Wiipica is currently seeking a Quality Control Manager (CQC)in Champlain, NY.No security clearance is required for this position, but ability to pass a background check is required to gain access to the worksite.

Qualified applicants for this position will be required to relocate to Champlain, NY for the duration of this project.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Quality Control Manager to ensure the highest level of quality throughout our entire organization. This role is responsible for developing and implementing quality control processes, evaluating existing processes and identifying areas of improvement, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. The Quality Control Manager will also develop quality assurance systems, monitor performance, and provide feedback.

Responsibilities include:

• Act as Construction Quality Control Manager at the work site to implement and manage the project specific Contractor Quality Control Plan.
• Provide overall coordination of the construction quality management program for assigned projects, plus provide regular and timely status reports to the Government sponsor about the status of these construction projects under your administrative and technical control
• In conjunction with the Government Construction Manager (CM), review and provide recommendations toward approval of contractor-submitted quality control plans.
• Provide relevant remarks on Government Quality Assurance (QA) reports or in identified sections of various Contractor’s Quality Control (QC) reports, particularly remarks about critical, definable features of work included.
• Validate quantity, condition and approval of materials on site before the installation by Subcontractors.
• Coordinate a team to review and witness successful testing and commissioning/certification of critical systems (i.e., mechanical - HVAC/TABS/DALTS/DDC; electrical - Pad Mounted Transformers/High-Voltage Systems/Switchgear/Automatic Transfer Switches/Frequency Converters, fire and life safety/fire protection systems; roofing systems and underwater structures).
• Assure quality workmanship in accordance with specifications and industry standards for concrete/masonry/stucco/building, envelope/structural steel/bolting/welding and other building materials/structural systems, as required.
• Attend/witness selected tests and review all applicable test reports and results for completeness and quality.
• Maintain extensive contact with key construction contractor representatives to promote an atmosphere of partnering and cooperation, quickly resolving problems while maintaining each construction schedule.
• Coordinate temporary utility and communication hook-ups for contractors, plus coordinate utility outages and road closures with Government personnel, as necessary. Coordinate lay-down areas and storage areas, as required.
• Coordinate excavation, hot work, burn and other construction-related permits, as required, subject to local restrictions.
• In conjunction with the Construction Manager (CM), perform cursory review of Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and ensure via the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) that these are discussed by the construction contractor plus their respective subcontractors prior to beginning each work activity, or when a new work crew is to perform the work in accordance with the three phases of QC.
• With the CM, review and provide recommendations toward acceptance of Crane Critical Lift Plans, along with crane operation qualifications and certificate of compliance. Observe critical lifts.
• Ensure each construction contractor is conducting monthly site safety self-evaluations and submitting the information with pay vouchers/invoices; perform worksite safety assessments as needed.
• Take appropriate, timely action to ensure construction contractor compliance of safety and health requirements, including leading safety stand-downs, as required, and recommending dismissal of key construction contractor staff from the project due to non-performance or recurring violations.
• Ensure reporting of contractor significant safety incidents/accidents/near misses, ensuring most importantly that corrective actions have been taken. Perform cursory review/QA of Contractor’s Significant Incidence Reports (CSIRs) and OSHA Form 300s (Contractor’s Log of Work Related Injuries and Illnesses).
• Serve as a point of contact for Supported Command interface/coordination in the field; including supporting collateral equipment installation and phone/data/communication connections; assist with investigation of potential latent defects; and assist with coordination of the installation of cylinders/cores, keying system, and turnover of keys to owner/occupant
• Coordinate the facility system training for owner/occupants/PW shop personnel.
• Review pre-final contract drawings and specifications (particularly Division 01 administrative requirements) and technical RFPs, respectively. Perform on-site visits to review constructability and compatibility with actual field conditions. During design development and constructability review, provide technical knowledge of local conditions, including availability of construction materials and skilled labor. For any problems found, make solution recommendations for designer consideration.

Qualifications:

• 5 or more years of verified experience as a Quality Control Manager working for one or more General Contractors (GCs) on NAVFAC or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) projects OR 10 or more years of verified foreman experience in one or more of the following trades: Concrete, Mechanical, Electrical, Masonry or Carpentry on commercial/industrial/military projects. Residential construction experience does not qualify.
• Possess, or be able to obtain, a Certificate of Completion for the US Army Corps of Engineers “Construction Quality Management [CQM] for Contractors” course
• Possess familiarity with crane safety requirements and the NAVFAC P-307 (Management of Weight Handling equipment) specification
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation; please note the background check for this position extends past 7 years, in conformance with federal law and US Department of Justice guidelines for work on a military installation.

The Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) manager is a fast-paced position overseeing the planning and coordination of a variety of projects. The VDC Manager will lead all aspects of Harvey Cleary’s VDC construction initiatives across the company, ensuring projects are taken from the design phase and digitally modeled to solve coordination issues before the start of field installation.

This role will function as a subject matter expert for VDC processes and technology innovation platforms, ensuring that building Information modeling (BIM) coordination is utilized throughout the Harvey Cleary organization. This individual embodies Harvey Cleary’s values of integrity, quality, and innovation in their work and interactions with team members and project stakeholders. The VDC Manager will report to the Director of Technology while supporting various operations teams in the successful VDC delivery of projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• In collaboration with the Director of Technology, recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff in the VDC department.
• Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
• Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations of VDC team members.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage deployment of VDC initiatives and VDC technology platforms.
• Train, educate, and mentor VDC engineers as well as project staff on current BIM/VDC processes and services.
• Lead in the compliance, development, and refinement of the Harvey Cleary BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and adhere to the Harvey Cleary BIM standards and refinement of future iterations.
• Create Building Information Models (BIM) of varying Levels of Development (LOD) and dimensions (3/4/5/6D) to meet project requirements.
• Identify, champion, and implement innovative improvements in model-based processes and technologies that improve project delivery.
• Perform clash detection of federated models and lead coordination efforts with project teams, clients, consultants, subcontractors, manufacturers, etc.
• Create 4D and physical models to inform construction planning, site logistics, constructability reviews, lift plans, safety, quality control/assurance, etc.
• Support preconstruction teams in the development of 3D quantity takeoffs.
• Provide technical expertise to assist business development and marketing teams in pursuit efforts, including interview preparation and assistance with site logistics, physical models and 4D site logistics models.
• Participate in weekly team meetings to review the BIM coordination process, as needed, in collaboration with project teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent training/experience.
• 5+ years AEC industry experience in VDC role, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of MEP industry, CAD modeling, construction scheduling, and time managment
• Proven leadership qualities from previous project roles.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Project Manager is responsible for supporting and advancing construction projects throughout all phases of planning, design, bidding, construction and closeout. Project Planning & Design Support

·        Coordinate preparation of internal project documentation in support of Construction Management and Project Management teams.

·        Support the design and permitting process, including drawing review, permit application preparation, and value engineering.

·        Apply construction divisions and category codes to budgets and bid packages as applicable.

Bidding, Documentation & Project Controls

·        Prepare bid comparisons, accurately summarizing project scope and comparative costs to past projects.

·        Oversee organization and tracking of project components, including submittals, RFIs, bid packages, project schedules, and change orders.

·        Partner with the Project Administrator to review and process required paperwork and documentation from contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, including contracts, certificates of insurance, proposals, and lien releases.

Financial Administration, Closeout & Compliance

·        Partner with the Project Administrator to process invoices and payment applications for review and approval.

·        Monitor billing accuracy, contract reconciliation, and compliance with lien waiver requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Conducts scope reviews for feasibility and attends design phase site inspections.
• Prepares conceptual, preliminary, and final project budgets.
• Plans and coordinate pre-bid meeting prior to project start.  
• Prepares construction schedule using Microsoft Project.
• Reviews and manages material submittals during the approval process.  
• Assists with estimate preparation; performs accurate take-offs, receives, and evaluates bids.
• Coordinate all site construction activities and supervise field personnel as required to successfully complete the assigned projects on schedule and within budget.
• Awards subcontracts and purchase orders for all labor, material, and equipment needed for the project.
• Directs Construction Superintendents to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications.
• Manages and promotes safe work practices and resolves any site hazards that may occur.
• Ensures that projects conform to all building and accessibility codes, to include energy requirements, items agreed upon with lending institutions, and Wallick standard products and methods.
• Oversees construction schedule; identifies and solves problems.
• Prepare monthly pay applications and submit requests for owner change orders and all associated documentation.
• Monitors budgets, revenue, profit, and cash flow.
• Maintains positive relationships with customers, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Oversees project closeout process and warranty compliance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned. 

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree (prefer Construction Management) or equivalent work experience
• 1+ years of project management experience preferred
• Solid understanding of construction
• Previous experience in construction of multi-family housing is preferred
• Ability to handle small projects and priorities in a timely and professional manner
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
• Knowledge of MS Project and Procore software tools is preferred
• Display excellent listening, written and oral communication skills
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret reports
• Ability to apply advanced math and analytical skills
• Ability to make complex decisions requiring significant judgment under direction of Project Managers

Primary Role

The Assistant Director - Construction & Architectural Design serves as the backup and second-in-command to the Director - Construction & Architectural Design, while directly managing commercial design-build projects.

This role supports team leadership and process optimization, ensuring efficient project execution across multiple markets, including scheduling, budgeting, stakeholder management, and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in leading and building design-construction teams
• Foster teamwork and strong inter-company relationships
• Support business development and project capture
• Establish systems to optimize and scale the business
• Track and manage financial performance
• Mitigate risks related to contracts and project scope
• Oversee contract management and installations
• Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and scope changes
• Vet subcontractors and support sales managers
• Ensure compliance with codes and regulations
• Prepare and negotiate contracts and schedules
• Identify and manage project changes and issue

Other Duties Include

• Drive continuous improvement
• Evaluate and implement new technology tools

Qualifications

• Certifications/Designations: AIA, PE, RA
• Ability to obtain contractor licenses in multiple states
• Ability to obtain a security clearance

Education/Experience

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture required
• 10+ years in commercial construction project management or leadership, with experience across diverse project types and sizes, ideally in North America and other international locations
• Experience in permitting, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and team management
• Proficiency in technology tools for productivity (BIM, Revit, estimating tools)

Competencies Required

• Strong background in Design services and Architecture
• Extensive experience in Construction Management and Project Management
