As a claims adjuster trainee, you'll learn how to help customers get back on the road after an accident. This is not a field position which means you'll be building relationships with customers over the phone. In a fast-paced environment, you'll learn how to resolve a full case load of claims efficiently while managing the claims process from start to finish. You'll have the support of a collaborative team and ongoing coaching from leaders. We'll also teach you the insurance stuff - providing in-depth training on property damage and insurance contracts so you can confidently and independently adjust claims.

This is a hybrid role, which means you'll work in-office two days that are selected by local leadership and choose where you want to work the other three days, whether that's at home or in the office, for a training period of about 12 weeks. After graduating from training, you'll be expected to report to an office about four days per month for important meetings, training, and collaboration. In this hybrid work environment, you'll be supported by your leaders and tenured colleagues to develop relationships, establish connections, and share practices that are important to your development. If you prefer an in-office environment, you're welcome to work in the office more than four days per month.

Duties & Responsibilities (Upon Completion of Training)

Must-Have Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher

Schedule: Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays. Hours may be 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Compensation
  • Once you complete training and pass any necessary testing requirements, your salary will be $48,000-$53,000/year, however, during training, you'll be paid hourly based on your annual salary.
  • Gainshare bonus up to 16% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
  • An additional 10% when you work evening or weekend hours

Role Description

This outside sales representative role is both incredibly challenging and rewarding. You will work harder than you have ever thought possible. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will learn at an unfathomable volume and pace about yourself, sales process, sales tactics, sustainability, water conservation, cooling systems and large scale facilities customers.


Do you have what it takes? This is not a role for the faint of heart. Your Goal: Get at least 30 initial calls completed with qualified leads per quarter.


We have four channels for you to get these calls. Each is a detailed process that will walk you through exactly what you are expected to do. You simply need to do them with extreme volume.


  1. In Person Cold Outbound - Utilizing the system we have built with Google Earth and Costar, you will “knock on doors” to gather data and schedule calls with prospective customers.
  2. Cold Outbound Hubspot - Using a 7 step process built in Hubspot, you will cold call, email, text and send gifts to schedule intro calls with prospective customers.
  3. Conferences - We have built a detailed process on how to target leads and schedule intro calls with a pre, during and post conference approach.
  4. LinkedIn Automation - Using a technology called MeetAlfred, this automation will connect and message a targeted list to help drive warm leads for you to schedule intro calls with.

• Distribute or facilitate distribution of resource information provided by the Client Executive (CE) to clients to continually keep them informed of benefit trends, State and Federal legislation, rules, and regulations
• Liaison with compliance department and Client Executive (CE) to advise clients on government reporting compliance issues, and to assist with the preparation of client specific compliance resources
• Compile and maintain client and benefit plan information in EPIC's CRM - new group set up and renewals- data provided by Client Executive
• Issue resolution for simple claims, coordinate escalated claims with the claims department and share communication to the claimant as to who is on contact point post transfer to the claims department
• Resolve enrollment and eligibility issues
• Research and resolve client billing issues
• Maintain open and continuing communication with the assigned Client Executive on all client issues and events
• Coordinate and participate in consistent training/mentoring events with the Client Executive
• Coordinate meetings and updates as needed

Personal and Organizational Development
• Work with CE to set priorities and manage workflow to ensure goals are met;
• Maintain up-to-date proposals, workflow logs, update all benefits information on agency management system, manuals or other required documentation and records
• Be responsive and Interact with others effectively utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance as needed to achieve the business goals of the Company
• Stay informed regarding industry information, new product/program developments, coverages, legislation, technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance
• Project a professional image in action and appearance.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Full knowledge of Employee Benefits lines of coverage and services
    • Intermediate knowledge of navigating the Internet as well as various Microsoft Office programs to include Windows, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and Excel
    • Strong attention to detail and time management abilities
    • Strong ability to multi-task and assign priorities
    • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment as well as independently without direct supervision
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills; both written and oral
    • Demonstrated experience with agency management systems and HR portals, and the capability to learn and use other systems quickly and effectively
  • High school diploma required; some college preferred
    • Prefer five or more years’ experience as a Client Manager with a benefits consulting or brokerage firm, or comparable experience with an insurance carrier, or TPA
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle/prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands
    • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. The position continually requires teamwork, responsiveness, demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Life and Health License; or willing to obtain within 60 days of hire date;
    • Valid Driver License

COMPENSATION: The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
