Responsibilities
The Ambulatory Float Registered Nurse (RN) works in variety of dynamic specialty clinics including, but not limited to, the following locations: Charlton, Gonda, Mayo Clinic, NE Clinic, and the Support Center at Superior Drive. Ambulatory floats provide both direct and non-direct patient care to support the unique needs of the clinical practice. Responsibilities may include patient education visits, patient care visits, providing immunizations, lab monitoring, prescription refills per protocol, performing limited procedures, point of care testing, and telephone based symptom assessment, triage, care by protocol among other skills. The Ambulatory Float Pool supports 35 different RN practices serving patients from pediatrics through adulthood across a multitude of specialties. An individual RN within the Ambulatory Float Pool will train and work in six to ten different practices or specialties based on FTE and practice mix. Hours are Monday through Friday, with varied start times from 6 am to 8 am. The majority of the schedule is 8-4:30 or 8-5 based on unit need.
The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources. The RN possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects. A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle as a part of the responsibility of their role.

Qualifications
Graduate of a nursing program, as recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). One year of RN experience required.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date of April 1, 2020 and after must provide documented evidence of program completion of the baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date prior to April 1, 2020 must provide documented evidence of program completion of the baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program as stipulated by the degree requirement program in place at time of hire.
Additional Qualifications:
Recent direct patient care preferred. BSN preferred.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Experience working in a team environment. Flexibility, ability to multitask and computer skills are essential for this position. Prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting. Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills.

About the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology is one of the largest producers of electrical engineers and computer engineers in the United States. The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology is one of the largest producers of electrical engineers and computer engineers in the United States. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent.
The school seeks individuals with demonstrated outstanding leadership in research and undergraduate and graduate teaching. Candidates should have an excellent record of scholarship. Of interest are candidates with an established and active record of accomplishment in leading large multi-institution and multi-disciplinary collaborative research efforts and a vision for developing the next generation of electro-optic components, devices and/or circuits.

Job Summary
The Ultrasound Imaging and Therapeutics Research Laboratory ( ) seeks self-motivated and talented individuals to participate in and support operations of a research laboratory. Our mission is to develop and translate approaches, devices, algorithms, and agents with clinical impact based on a synergistic combination of biomedical imaging, image-guided therapy, and bionanotechnology. Overall, we are a collaborative, full-spectrum research group leading the discovery, development, and integration of biomedical imaging technologies and theranostic agents for both fundamental research and clinical applications.
The Ultrasound Imaging and Therapeutics Research Laboratory is part of the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE), and the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University School of Medicine.
The research engineer will provide technical oversight of the research laboratory operations focused on in-vitro/preclinical/clinical imaging. The responsibilities will include daily interactions with graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, clinical collaborators, and other researchers, technical and other support to research staff, and direct reporting to the Principal Investigator.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Designing and fabricating electro-mechanical systems;
- Facilitate construction and maintenance of custom lab equipment (ultrasound transducers and imaging systems, laser systems, motorized linear axis and robotic positioners, etc.);
- Maintain instrumentation, implement best practices and training;
- Serve as a technical source for the researchers in the laboratory;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related area.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. (M.S. preferred) in science or engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Biophysics, Chemistry, Biology);
- Experience in mechanical fabrication and/or circuitry;
- Experience with ultrasound or laser systems including NDE, diagnostic/therapeutic ultrasound, nanosecond pulsed lasers;
- Programming skills in Matlab, LabVIEW, Python, C++ desirable;
- Ability to assess and remedy difficult problems and situations quickly and efficiently;
- Ability to work well alone as well as in a team environment;
- Ability to work in physical, hands on environment;
- Ability to act independently on technical matters pertaining to projects and laboratory;
- Exhibits creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in conducting research programs/projects.
