Telemetry Med-Surg – 2600
2600 is a stroke certified, telemetry medical surgical unit. This is a 27 bed unit that cares for cardiac patients on telemetry monitoring. Diagnoses on this unit are primarily cardiac in nature, but the unit also cares for patients with a diverse variety of general medical illnesses. Because of this, our nurses develop a strong set of skills and knowledge that they can use to grow their career throughout the acute care environment.
We are piloting a virtual nursing program on this unit, stationing one nurse in a virtual nursing hub during the hours of 0700-1900, while leaving six nurses physically on the unit to provide direct care to patients. The virtual nurse supports the bedside nurse in providing quality care to our patients, and is part of a virtual care model that includes pharmacy and social work. Prior to training and serving in the virtual nurse role, we require 6 months of experience working on the unit.
CLINICAL LADDER LEVEL I-IV
The RN level will be determined at the time of hire based on the candidate’s qualifications and ability to meet Clinical Ladder requirements.
Level expectations include:
- RN Level II: Minimum 6 months RN experience; AAS in Nursing; completion of Clinical Ladder requirements within 12 months, including 3 activities per pillar (Leadership, Quality, Organizational Contribution), 9 CEUs, and 6 flex items.
- RN Level III: Minimum 1 year RN experience; AAS in Nursing; demonstrated clinical and leadership skills; preceptor and/or charge experience; completion of 4 activities per pillar, 12 CEUs, and 15 flex items.

Overview:
The Analytical/Environmental Technician supports manufacturing operations by conducting laboratory analyses, collecting and preparing samples, ensuring data integrity, and maintaining laboratory and field equipment. This hybrid role provides critical analytical and environmental data for operational decision-making and may offer guidance to less experienced team members. Responsibilities include both indoor laboratory and outdoor environmental work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sample Collection: Collect samples in accordance with established Sample Plans.
- Routine Analyses: Perform laboratory analyses and prepare calibration standards.

Responsibilities
- Interact with customer, exhibit account management skills to independently facilitate preventative maintenance, repair issue resolution, and discuss new repair estimates with customer. Coordinate work schedule as required by customers. Road test vehicles to identify cause of complaints for repairs, ensure quality of repair work performed, and deliver customer satisfaction. Preventive maintenance (PM) and vehicle repairs responsibilities include but is not limited to:
- A/C & Heater: Operate the system and recognize if the system is cooling or not (PM related); Perform system checks such as power to compressor, visual inspection of condenser, belt tension, etc; Identify Freon and oil leaks

- Lighting System and Electrical Accessories: Repair minor wiring problems; Replace bulbs, lenses and simple light assemblies; Repair minor lighting problems; Replace and adjust sealed beams; Install or replace accessories such as heated mirrors, fans, spotlights
- Drive Axles: Inspect housings for leaks; Change oil and filter, if required, and clean breathers
- Driveline: Lubricate drive line; Inspect components for wear or damage
- Gas Engines-All Engines: Check and adjust oil levels; Identify unusual noises, and oil leaks
- Fuel Systems: Replace and prime fuel filter; Check gas and diesel fuel system components such as fuel lines, pickup tubes, return lines, etc, for proper integrity and condition
- Preventive Maintenance: Proper lube techniques; Minimal tire inspection; Brake check/applied stroke; Battery check; Under vehicle check/loose components; Initial Fault code identification; All PMs (PM298) including C supplements to exclude overheads, engine brake overhauls, DPF servicing, clean doser injector, servicing ArvinMeritor unitized hubs, inspect Lece Neville alternator brushes, inspect modulator system for proper operation, inspect/adjust shift selector cable, pop test Isuzu injectors
- Steering and Non-driven Axles and Alignment: Lubricate grease fittings, check and adjust fluid levels; Check and adjust toe; Check all steering components for wear; Check and adjust trailer axle alignment; Adjust wheel bearings including replacement of wheel seal
- Suspension-Chassis and Cab: Identify makes and models; Identify normal operation; Identify and repair minor air leaks; Identify malfunctions of basic nature, broken springs, excessive wear on bushings, etc.

Labor and Delivery is seeking a skilled and compassionate full time Surgical Technologist to join our dedicated maternity team.
The schedule is 36 hours per week with day/night rotating schedule, including weekends.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality care for mothers and newborns during labor, delivery and recovery.
The L&D Surg Tech is responsible for preparing surgical suites, maintaining sterile field, assisting with C-sections and other obstetrical procedures, and ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly cleaned and handled.
Our Labor & Delivery Unit is a Level III referral center, which provides care to both normal and high-risk laboring and ante partum patients.
Approximately 4,200 babies are born each year at UNC Medical Center.
Several thousand patients are also seen in the triage area.
In addition, our providers and staff perform numerous high-risk procedures such as vaginal and cerclage placements, amniocentesis and versions as well as various fetal procedures, including IUTs, fetal shunt placements and exit procedures.
The unit consists of 15 labor and delivery rooms, 5 triage rooms, a 2-bed recovery room, and 3 operating rooms.
Anesthesia coverage is provided 24/7.
Summary: The Surgical Technologist II works under the supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.

Additional Unit Specific Essential Functions:
1. Demonstrates proficiency in delivering care utilizing advanced knowledge base of Cardiovascular, Neuro, Respiratory, and Metabolic issues as pertains to the individual patient.
2. Moves patients toward discharge to the next level of care following the established discharge criteria including but not limited to Aldrete score, dermatome level, stable BP, heart rate, oxygen saturation of 94% or higher, and proper Pain Management.
3. Communicates appropriately with the MD on any patient status variance that influences an expected progressive recovery course toward transfer to the next level of care.
4. Accompanies the patient on transfer and gives a thorough report utilizing appropriate Hand-Off format, including a review of the post operative orders, to the receiving RN.
5. Demonstrates ability to assist with ECTs.
6. Maintains annual competencies via skills validation and self studies. Attends a code blue drill every twelve months.
7. Maintains basic knowledge of Joint Commission requirements and the National Patient Safety Goals.
8. Demonstrates commitment to the Customer Service standards by providing information to patient, visitors, coworkers, and physicians in a friendly, helpful, courteous manner.

Pay Range: The estimated base rate for this position is $49.31 - $76.42.Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
