We are looking to add a Production Supervisor (2nd shift). The position is 100% fully based in our office at Milpitas, California.


As a Production Supervisor (2nd shift) you will:


Job Description:

  • Directs the activities of employees engaged in manufacturing activities including but not limited to training and supervising, maintaining a positive work environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and established policies and procedures.
  • Assign necessary manpower to support schedule demand on daily basis.
  • Oversee product quality data collection, machine utilization and efficiency data tracking.
  • Work with other production supervisors to resolve daily production issues such as material, delivery, quality, and employee performance.
  • Meets production schedule and meets customer's expectations.
  • Meets company's and customer's quality and workmanship standards.
  • Supervises production line set-up including but not limited to testing and adjusting line equipment prior to operation and ensuring production line starts on schedule.
  • Supervises all production activities performed by employees; maintains a high degree of visibility and access to employees throughout the shift.
  • Monitors and reports daily production results, material usage, waste, and downtime.
  • Reports equipment problems to appropriate department and operations manager.
  • Coordinates with quality control to maintain quality standards; takes appropriate corrective measures to resolve deficiencies.
  • Forecasts staffing needs to meet peak demands of the business and staff team accordingly; trains, motivates, coaches, rewards, and disciplines employees being supervised; resolves personnel issues.
  • Manages personnel issues including but not limited to vacation approvals, timecard approval, daily and weekly overtime, hiring, and training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.


Job Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent (three additional years of experience in lieu of degree may be considered).
  • At least six years of work experience in PCBA manufacturing or PCBA contract electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Must have experience in System Integration/Box Build
  • Good communications skills.
  • Strong leadership and hands-on production work experience.

  • Retrieves all necessary set up information/specifications/guidelines and follows instructions on the job jacket.
  • Completes all machine changeover/set-up processes minimizing machine downtime and meeting or exceeding set-up standard requirements. Develop set up procedure documentation as required.
  • Correctly completes daily production sheets, process condition sheets, waste logs, final release forms, ink paperwork and quality inspection logs. Ensure job order information (size, construction, print position, packing instructions, adhesive structures, proper substrates being used) corresponds with the product being manufactured.
  • Safely, efficiently and effectively assists with the assigned production machinery equipment monitoring quality, production and waste adhering to all customer specifications.
  • Ensures immediate work area and work areas for which Machine Operator has responsibility are free of clutter and debris. Perform all cleaning/sanitation responsibilities, safely using all required cleaning solutions and protective equipment.
  • Removes rolls from rewind, hangs rolls on rewind, makes up doctor blades, preps print carriages, brings correct inks and lacquers to the press, configures ink ratios, disposes of ink, solvents and lacquers, maintains ink viscosities and cuts cores.
  • Ability to operate the viscosity control system.
  • Ensures all required on-line quality data is properly documented.

  • Assist in machine set-up's/changeovers by utilizing the information on the job jacket and any necessary equipment. This includes preparing anilox rolls and sleeves for the laminator, changing anilox rolls, etc.
  • Complete necessary quality checks at machine and complete check off paperwork.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings (Continuous Quality Improvement, safety, special projects, departmental, etc.).
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Verify purchase order information with customers.

  • Investigate all customer related inquires. Expedite information to customer, sales representative, and/or manufacturing including, but not limited to the processing of price quotations, samples, brochures, or any other pertinent information necessary in obtaining or maintaining new business.
  • Monitor aged inventory and communicate procedures to customers, and APC Sales team to ensure timely pre-billing and/or shipping of aged inventory.
  • Professionally and effectively respond to any and all customer complaints through following procedures:
  • I. Retrieve required and appropriate information from customer or sales.
  • II. Complete and distribute complaint form to appropriate departments, provide photos to APC's Quality department, and request samples from the customer.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb and balance.
