Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emissions / VRU / Flare Technician to support field operations across production facilities in the Permian Basin. This role is responsible for monitoring, measuring, documenting, and mitigating air emissions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and company environmental standards.

This is a field-intensive position requiring daily travel to tank batteries, compressor stations, and processing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine emissions monitoring at tank batteries, compressor stations, and production facilities
  • Perform LDAR repairs in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Inspect and monitor:
  • Thief hatches
  • Pressure relief valves
  • Pneumatic controllers
  • Vapor Recovery Units (VRUs)
  • Flares and combustors
  • Quantify emissions using portable analyzers and approved methodologies
  • Document findings accurately in company data management systems
  • Initiate work orders for equipment requiring repair and verify corrective actions
  • Support regulatory reporting and maintain environmental compliance records
  • Assist operations teams in identifying emission reduction opportunities
  • Maintain calibration and proper function of monitoring and detection equipment

Regulatory & Compliance Requirements

  • Ensure compliance with EPA Subpart OOOOa / OOOOb / OOOOc regulations
  • Ensure compliance with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requirements

  • Participate in internal and external environmental audits

Qualifications

  • Prior oil & gas field experience required
  • Experience with LDAR programs and OGI camera inspections preferred
