Responsibilities:

  • Use the Connexus learning management system to file and maintain student records;

  • Use the Connexus learning management system to respond to various inquiries from parents, students and other school districts.
  • Direct phone calls from parents and students to appropriate school personnel.
  • Respond to other school districts questions ranging from transcript requests, to issues concerning enrollment and withdrawal verification.
  • Answer phones and receive guests;
  • Schedule meetings and appointments;
  • Host administrative meetings;
  • Assist Administration with a wide variety of daily responsibilities and special projects; and
  • Perform Additional duties as assigned.

Summer Sessions, in partnership with UC Berkeley's Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department (EECS), invites applications for a pool of qualified, dynamic instructors with a commitment to Pre-College education in Computer Science, Programming, and Data Science to teach high school students (grades 10-12) in our Berkeley Summer Computer Science Academy. This intensive, non-credit program is offered in-person over 2 weeks during weekdays (June 22, 2026 - July 3, 2026) on the UC Berkeley campus with some online instructional components, such as an Instructor Orientation and a student pre-arrival Welcome Webinar.

Course Subjects

We are seeking qualified applicants who possess current subject matter expertise and teaching proficiency in the SNAP! programming language/coding software and in other introductory coding, computer science, data science, and artificial intelligence concepts.



General Duties

The department seeks candidates who can support the success of all students through inclusive curriculum, classroom environment, and pedagogy. Specific duties and expectations will vary depending on the method of instruction including: Classroom (In-Person).

* Support classroom teachers and administrators in the implementation of appropriate strategies to meet the needs of students with IEPs
* Support implementation of accommodations and modifications for students with IEPs in the general education classroom and during PSE service time
* Analyze assessment results to drive instruction and IEP development
* Develop and assist with appropriate behavior management techniques for students with special needs
* Coordinate progress report completion in accordance with district guidelines
* Develop IEPs in accordance with federal, state, and school standards
* Create and maintain PSE documentation as required by federal, state, and school regulations, Manage IEPs
* Ensure IEP timeline compliance of assigned caseload
* Administer formal academic assessments
* Analyze and report on results of academic assessments
* Write academic reports for initial and triennial IEPs

*EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE*

To work as a PSE teacher, an individual must possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning and appropriate, with valid Pennsylvania credentials for Special Education instruction. Two years of successful, full-time teaching experience in Special Education preferred.
