Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a Senior Project Controls Engineer position at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM.

Salary: $85/hr - $90/hr

The Project Controls Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and the broader Project Controls System at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). This position significantly influences the success of high-impact projects through expert cost engineering, scheduling, and project management support. The specialist will contribute to developing advanced techniques and standards, guiding project teams, and ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform cost estimating, cost analysis, and control activities for highly complex projects.
• Supervise and provide technical direction for planning/scheduling and cost engineering activities.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and monitor progress against milestones.
• Prepare, review, and present detailed cost engineering and scheduling reports.
• Analyze cost trends and schedule performance for management attention.
• Provide innovative solutions to project control challenges and guide technical teams.
• Act as a subject matter expert in EVMS tools and processes.
• Utilize independent judgment to determine the best course of action for achieving project objectives.
• Work under consultative direction and with minimal supervision to meet long-range project goals.
• Support project administrative and organizational tasks, including financial reporting and status updates.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in project controls functions, including:

• Planning and scheduling (development, control, analysis)
• Cost engineering (estimating, control, financial reporting, and analysis)
• Proficiency in multiple software applications used for project controls and cost analysis.
• Experience with supervision, personnel administration, and technical training.
• Understanding of financial reporting systems and cost control procedures.
• Ability to work independently with wide latitude in methods and evaluation criteria.

Desired Skills

• Subject matter expertise in project management and EVMS.
• Proven ability to implement corrective actions and monitor project progress.
• Familiarity with engineering principles related to technical project implementation.

As a Flight Controls Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be part of the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Team. You will design, implement, integrate, and test flight control laws for all phases of operation including autotaxi, auto-takeoff, autoland, and automatic rollout. You integrate real-world hardware and C/C++ flight software as part of ongoing flight test programs, and perform simulation analysis and data reduction in our Python and C/C++ modeling & simulation environment.

Responsibilities

• Establish autoflight and flight control system requirements

• Interface with Pilots and Operations team to develop flight test plans, respond to squawks, and communicate design updates

• Design and analyze flight control laws from conceptual design through implementation and certification

• Develop simulation models to evaluate flight control system performance and stability

• Implement control laws and algorithms in flight software

• Test flight software in simulation, Monte Carlo, hardware-in-loop, and flight

Basic Success Criteria

• BS in aerospace engineering, robotics, or equivalent field

• 3+ years of hands on, professional experience developing and testing flight controls algorithms

• Experience with flight dynamics simulation and model identification

• Professional experience with developing C/C++ flight software and Python data reduction & analysis

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Criteria

• MS in aerospace engineering, robotics, or similar advanced degree

• Current pilot, instrument or commercial ratings

• Experience with flight controls, autopilot, or flight management system certification

The Ride Control Hardware Engineer will report to the Ride Control Systems Engineering Executive.

This is a full time role.

What You Will Do:

• Support programmable, electrical, and electronic hardware scope to design and deliver control systems for complex, innovative ride systems
• Perform engineering design and analysis for ride systems, focusing on electrical control systems
• Develop control system and network architectures
• Design, model, and analyze electrical supply systems
• Research new products, technologies, and methodologies
• Lead a team of ride control engineers and collaborate with other professionals to develop ride control systems
• Develop control equipment requirements and specifications
• Develop and implement proof-of-concept mock-ups and prototypes

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of Controls Experience
• Experienced in fail-safe and safety-related control system design
• Extensive knowledge of control processors, components, and communication networks
• Highly proficient in industrial control system installation, integration, and commissioning
• Solid understanding of communication protocols: TCP/IP, CAN, serial, ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT
• Extensive knowledge of electrical design standards and codes, including UL508a and NEC
• Familiarity with amusement and automation industry standards, including ASTM F2291
• Expertise in motor and motion control methods and components
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally for 1-week to 3-year durations
• Ability to handle multiple complex efforts simultaneously, coordinate team efforts, and manage tasks and priorities

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• Licensed professional engineer
• Proficient with engineering design tools including AutoCAD, Matlab, Simulink, Solidworks, EPLAN

Ride Control Software Engineers work within Imagineering's Ride Engineering Studio in a highly collaborative environment on diverse teams. Engineering activities cover all aspects of ride control software design and implementation, from concept to commissioning, for a wide variety of innovative ride platforms.

The role of Ride Control Software Engineer Principal (Design Assurance) focuses on design, analysis, system safety, and verification across multiple projects, supporting project teams in critical engineering quality activities.

This role will report to the Executive, Ride Controls Software Engineering.

This position is located in Glendale, CA OR Orlando, FL.

This is a full time role.

Responsibilities:

Conduct design assurance activities in standards and best practices development, partnering with ride engineering partners across Disney Experiences and the amusement ride industry.

• Stay abreast of, and participate in the development of, company and industry standards and methodologies.
• Participate in company committees and industry organizations involved in ride safety and design.
• Maintain and improve engineering processes to meet project delivery and design assurance objectives.
• Conduct design assurance activities for ride project design review and testing, partnering with ride project team members.
• Review ride software designs for compliance with industry and company standards.
• Assess whether designs are of appropriate quality and meet project requirements.
• Advise project teams on optimal ride control software designs, safety analysis methods and results, and testing approaches.
• Mentor and train ride control engineers.
• Prepare and present Disney requirements and design practices for internal training.
• Advocate the processes, standards, and practices that produce quality designs.
• Mentor and assist design engineers with technical challenges, standards, and methodology.
• Mentor ride engineers in design excellence.

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 15 years of experience with ride control software design, engineering, installation, and commissioning
• Proficient in fail-safe and safety-related control system design
• Experience with requirements development, test plans/procedures, and test execution
• Extensive knowledge of ride control software architectures
• Solid understanding of communication protocols: TCP/IP, CAN, serial, ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT
• Proficient in automated control software design applying functional safety concepts and standards
• Demonstrated practice in functional safety standards, including IEC 61508, IEC 62061, ISO 13849

The Ride Control Systems Engineer will report to the Executive Ride Control Systems Engineer.

This is a full time role.

What You Will Do:

• Manage entire scope to conceive, design, & deliver control systems for a wide variety of complex and innovative ride systems and related equipment
• Conduct systems engineering for ride control systems
• Define system use cases and user needs
• Develop and capture requirements and functional specifications in documents, drawings, and models
• Ensure compliance with control system safety standards
• Perform engineering design and analysis for ride control systems
• Develop control strategies and algorithms

Summary:

The Director of Loss Control leads Forestry Mutual's specialized Loss Control and Risk Management program for commercial forestry, logging, and associated transportation operations. This role provides strategic leadership, supervises Loss Control staff, and ensures effective delivery of risk assessment, safety guidance, and operational support to policyholders.

The Director collaborates closely with underwriting and claims teams to identify emerging risks, implement mitigation strategies, and reduce the frequency and severity of losses. This position also serves as a mentor and support resource for Loss Control staff, ensuring staff are trained, coached, and empowered to work effectively with policyholders in high-risk forestry, logging, and timber trucking operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership and Staff Support

• Directly supervise and support all Loss Control personnel, providing guidance, mentoring, and coaching.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, field evaluations, and performance reviews to ensure staff effectiveness.
• Assist Loss Control staff in addressing complex or challenging policyholder situations, ensuring compliance with safety recommendations and operational standards.
• Recruit, train, and retain specialized Loss Control staff with experience in forestry, logging, or heavy equipment operations.

Strategic Risk Management

• Develop and implement Forestry Mutual's Loss Control strategy for forestry, logging, timber trucking, and related operations.
• Establish policies, procedures, and best practices tailored to high-risk forestry operations.
• Identify emerging trends, new hazards, and areas of loss exposure specific to commercial forestry operations.
• Recommend innovative solutions and mitigation strategies to reduce operational and property losses.

Underwriting and Claims Support

• Partner with underwriting teams to evaluate new and renewal accounts, supporting risk selection and pricing decisions.
• Provide technical risk assessments for timber harvesting, logging equipment, trucking, and sawmill operations.
• Collaborate with claims and third-party administrators to analyze major losses, perform post-loss investigations, and recommend corrective actions.
• Identify loss patterns and implement preventative measures to reduce claim severity and frequency.

Field Operations and Policyholder Engagement

• Lead and participate in field visits, on-site safety assessments, and operational inspections for policyholders.
• Provide guidance on forestry safety, heavy equipment operation, trucking compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote safe work practices, operational compliance, and a positive safety culture among policyholders and subcontractors.
• Serve as a visible resource for policyholders needing specialized safety or operational support.

Data, Metrics, and Reporting

• Develop, monitor, and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) specific to forestry, logging, and trucking operations.
• Track staff field activities, loss trends, and program effectiveness; provide regular reports to executive leadership.
