The Opportunity

• Up to $100k sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.
• Seeking Board Eligible/Certified Emergency Medicine physicians.
• Current OR state license is a plus.
• Have at least six (6) months of Emergency Medicine experience.
• Have at least one letter of recommendation from a board-certified emergency medicine physician attesting to your clinical knowledge and skills in emergency medicine.
• Hold active board certification in family medicine or internal medicine.
• Hold active ACLS, ATLS, NRP, and PALS certifications.
• Hold a certification in Emergency Medicine OR be working on obtaining a certification in Emergency Medicine through the Board of Certification in Emergency Medicine (BCEM). This is a requirement if you have under 5 years of experience in Emergency Medicine.

• 2-bed Emergency Department with x-ray and CT available 24 hours a day.
• Patient mix is mostly middle-aged and retirement-aged with some peds and family. Seasonal traffic from Dunes recreation area.
• Annual volume of 15,000 with approximately a 17% admit/transfer rate.
• Sub-specialty backup includes general and trauma surgery, ortho, hospitalists, and PCP offices on hospital property.

• Performs nuclear medicine procedures. Nuclear medicine is a modality of radiology that uses radioactive substances.

This includes: positioning, physiology, procedure preparation, and technical factors. Modifies technical factors to achieve desired imaging results and recognizes complications and limitations associated with certain procedures.
• Provides direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic or therapeutic interventions, including assisting with sterile technique.
• Provides accurate explanations and instructions to patients and family members at an appropriate level utilizing verbal and non-verbal skills, terminology and language.

• Follows safety standards and conducts all imaging procedures accordingly. Uses ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to protect patients, staff and general public, and follows radiation safety standards. Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures, regularly practices aseptic techniques, and ensures compliance with radiation safety and infection control procedures. Complies with job role, department and hospital safety standards, practices and policies.
• Identifies opportunities for corrective action and process improvement providing recommendations, and contributes to meeting department and hospital targets for quality and safety. Reports “near misses” and inputs errors promptly into appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system to improve processes and identify trends. JOB DESCRIPTION: 
Our Nuclear Medicine Technologist:

• Performs both clinical and research nuclear medicine testing and therapeutic procedures including general studies, cardiac studies, and the computer interactions associated with these studies.

• Performs clinical instruction for nuclear medicine students and other personnel as needed.

• Contributes to the development of policies, procedures, standards and objectives, and quality assurance needs for the provision of Nuclear Medicine services. 

• Hours - Monday - Friday 9am-530pm, no weekends except call coverage

• Is required to take rotating call coverage, including evenings, weekends and holidays. More details - Call will be every 12 days. It will be 24 hours if it falls on a weekend (example - 7a Saturday through 7a Sunday) OR 14 hours if it falls on a weeknight (5p-7a). You will receive call pay for carrying a pager and overtime and shift differentials if called in.

EDUCATION: 

• Graduate of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine.  

• Associates or Baccalaureate Degree in Nuclear Medicine is required.  

• Licensed by either the ARRT or CNMT in the State of Vermont.  

• This position requires verification of your college transcript.  Please be prepared to provide a copy should you be invited for an interview. 

EXPERIENCE: 
Twelve months of clinical experience in Nuclear Medicine is preferred. That said, we’d love to hear from new graduates or Nuclear Medicine Techs who are new to the field.
