Key Responsibilities:
- Travel within assigned zone and provide augmentation support to other zones as needed

- Install, pull, terminate, label, and test all AV-related cables, connectors, and interfaces

Performs moderately complex repair or construction of university facilities or property which require specialized training in the HVAC trade. Position performs the installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration components, equipment and systems for a University campus consisting of approximately 200 buildings. Position's primary purpose is ensuring that all HVAC and refrigeration systems and auxiliary equipment are in good working order and that any repairs are completed promptly and properly. The Role
This position is for job seekers with no trades experience willing to complete three weeks of unpaid training in the Outside Machinist trade.
Newport News Shipbuilding has partnered with the Virginia Ship Repair Association and local Virginia community colleges and maritime training facilities to offer several course-to-hire Marine Trades Training (MTT) programs for individuals interested in learning a trade and working full-time for Newport News Shipbuilding. Courses are offered once a month with 8-10 students per class. The Machinist Trainee program is offered at Camp Community College (Suffolk, VA). This (UNPAID) program is 3-weeks (120 hours), 7:00am - 3:30pm (Monday thru Friday).
To learn more about the Marine Trades Training (MTT) programs and how the process works, please visit: machinists are responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing a ship's major mechanical components and systems. Their work takes place on naval vessels at various stages of new construction, overhaul, or repair. Key components involved may include steam turbines, reduction gears, propellers, reactor components, catapults, weapons systems, periscopes, as well as laundry, food service, and refrigeration equipment.
Outside machinists utilize a wide variety of tools and machinery, from basic hand tools like wrenches and screwdrivers to advanced equipment such as torque wrenches, micrometers, drill presses, optical instruments, mills, portable machines, boring equipment, precision grinders, and lathes.
Working at Newport News Shipbuilding often involves performing tasks in various weather conditions, at extreme heights on scaffolding, ladders, or elevated platforms and in small, confined spaces such as tanks, compartments, or voids in a ship. These environments require a strong focus on safety, precision, and adaptability, as well as physical agility and comfort working in challenging conditions.

Global Trade & Duty Drawback Specialist

Position Summary
The Global Trade & Duty Drawback Specialist will be responsible for coordinating, maintaining, and executing a compliant duty drawback program while maximizing duty recovery opportunities. This role will oversee the collection and analysis of import/export documentation, manage drawback claims, and ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations.
The position will also play a key role in identifying potential tariff reimbursement opportunities, including those resulting from recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions and regulatory developments, ensuring the company captures all eligible duty recovery opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Duty Drawback Program Management
- Coordinate, maintain, and execute a compliant duty drawback program, including data and document collection (import, export, receiving, manufacturing, etc.) and auditing prior to claim submissions.
- Prepare and file drawback submissions and ensure timely submission of claims with appropriate documentation.
- Direct and manage the workload of the duty drawback broker, ensuring accurate and complete data is provided.
- Review company import/export activity to maximize duty recovery opportunities.
- Monitor drawback bond sufficiency and work with Customs Regulatory teams to make adjustments as required.
- Manage and document drawback refunds, ensuring accurate allocation to business units and reporting to Finance.
Trade Compliance & Tariff Strategy
- Identify opportunities for tariff reimbursement or duty recovery, including those related to recent legal and regulatory developments affecting tariffs.
- Maintain awareness of regulatory updates, court rulings, and federal policy changes impacting global trade and duty drawback programs.
- Evaluate the potential impact of South American duty structures and trade regulations on company import/export operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Drive process improvements in collaboration with Manufacturing, Accounting, and Finance to maximize refund recovery per manufactured unit.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience managing U.S. Customs Duty Drawback programs.
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) required.
- Strong knowledge of CFR Titles 15 and 19, including in-depth understanding of Duty Drawback regulations.

The Trade Partnerships Manager will be responsible for maintaining, cultivating, and growing Byrd Tile’s trade partner network throughout Central North Carolina. This role is not a traditional sales position, but rather a strategic relationship and channel development role designed to support trade partners, identify growth opportunities, and represent a respected 50-year legacy brand in the market.
Job Responsibilities
Relationship Management
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with general contractors, custom builders, remodeling firms, installers, architects, and interior designers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all trade partner needs and inquiries.
- Represent Byrd Tile professionally across all partner interactions, events, and visits.
Program & Channel Development
- Develop and implement partnership programs that improve satisfaction, engagement, and long-term loyalty.
- Identify channel-specific growth opportunities and create strategies that drive increased utilization of Byrd Tile products and services.
Prospecting & Lead Generation
- Proactively identify, engage, and qualify potential new trade partners.
- Build a pipeline of new builders, remodelers, designers, and other industry partners to expand Byrd Tile’s footprint.
Account Management & Service Coordination
- Work closely with internal design, showroom, and customer service teams to ensure partners receive exceptional service from project start to completion.
- Coordinate project needs, product information, and timelines to ensure seamless execution.
Market Intelligence
- Stay informed on industry trends, new construction activity, design preferences, and competitive activity.
- Provide trade partners with product updates, technical support, presentations, and insights to help them succeed in their markets.
Skills & Experience
Required
- 3-5 years of experience in account management, channel partnerships, or business development.
- Background in construction, building materials, distribution, or related industries (strongly preferred).
