Northrop Grumman is seeking experienced structure aircraft mechanics to support a maintenance program with Northrop Grumman in Lake Charles, LA.

The Navy E-6 is an airborne command post and communications relay based on the Boeing 707 platform The aircraft are utilized primarily for long-range patrols along the entire U.S. border, and in source and transit zone countries. This platform, now modified to the E-6B standard, conveys instructions from the National Command Authority to fleet ballistic missile submarines, a mission known as TACAMO ("Take Charge And Move Out").

Your duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty

  • Reads and interprets manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components

  • Have a broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair

  • Possess detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required.

  • Possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike

  • Be able to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, written instructions, etc.

  • Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals.

Job duties may also require that this mechanic:

  • Use your thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems.

  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories.

  • Performs 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections, examines reciprocating engines for cracked cylinders and oil leaks, and listens to operating engine to detect and diagnose malfunctions, such as sticking or burnt valves, inspects jet engines and components for cracks, corrosion, foreign object damage, burned areas, distortions, security, warping, wear, and missing segments.

  • Inspects jet engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks, tests engine operation, using testing equipment, such as ignition analyzer, compression checker, distributor timer, ammeter, and jet calibration (Jetcal) tester, to locate source of malfunction.

  • Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.

  • Performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.

  • Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.

  • Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.

  • Use your thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.

  • Use your basic knowledge of electrical theory.

  • Use a variety of manual hand tools such as crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, heat shrink gun, etc.

  • Assemble, modify, and install wire bundles, conductors and other electrical components.

This worker will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records, and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.

As a Printhead Technician, you will focus on printhead operational performance improvement for Kodak Prosper S-Series, Prosper press and Ultra Stream customers. Use Kodak’s database and interact with the sales representative, field service organization and end customers to obtain and analyze customer data to investigate printhead life trends, system utilization, operating conditions and system configurations.

Work with field service and customers to plan and execute on-site visits to train operators and maintenance personnel on the best practices for optimum system performance. • Develop and Execute Post-Visit Support Plans. After analyzing available data and conducting on-site training visits, provide improvement recommendations to the customer. Responsibilities

As an Aviation Electronics Technician (AT), you'll maintain, troubleshoot, repair and test complex electronic systems related to aviation on tactical jets, fixed wing aircraft or rotary winged helicopter systems. In this role, you can expect to work with systems including digital computers, fiber optics, infrared detection, radar, laser electronics, navigation, pressure indication, and electrical power generation and distribution. Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Installing modifications to aircraft electronic systems
  • Performing micro-miniature module repair on computer circuit cards
  • Performing electrical diagnostics
  • Reading electrical system diagrams
  • Repairing and maintaining power generators and electric motors
  • Performing scheduled maintenance and corrosion control


Work Environment

Sailors in this career field will perform duties at sea and ashore around the world. ATs can expect to work indoors and outdoors in land-based aircraft squadrons and aboard aircraft carriers. You may work in a shop environment, clean lab, airplane hangar or office environment.

Training & Advancement

Upon completion of initial training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes(known as Boot Camp), you'll report for specialized training, including:

Part-Time Opportunities

Serving part-time as a Navy Reserve Sailor, your duties will be carried out during your scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Aviation Electronics Technicians in the Navy Reserve typically work at a location close to their homes.

For annual training, you may serve anywhere in the world, including locations in the U.S., at bases overseas, or in areas where humanitarian needs are great.

Key Responsibilities


Aircraft Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the 737-MAX 8 BBJ, including A/B checks, cabin systems maintenance, and BBJ-specific modifications.
  • Troubleshoot and repair MAX-series systems, including advanced avionics, fly-by-wire spoiler systems, LEAP-1B engines, and modernized electrical architecture.
  • Conduct inspections and repairs on high-end interiors, cabin management systems (CMS), entertainment systems, lighting, galley equipment, and VIP-customized installations.
  • Execute component replacements, SB/AD compliance, structural repairs, and configuration-controlled cabin changes per BBJ documentation.

VIP Cabin, Interior & Special Systems Support

  • Maintain and repair VIP furnishings, luxury materials, cabinetry, and premium finishes.
  • Troubleshoot and support Cabin Management Systems (CMS), satellite communications, Wi-Fi, Blu-ray/AV systems, and aircraft internet hardware.
  • Work closely with flight crews and cabin staff to ensure the aircraft meets VVIP standards of comfort and functionality.

Job Summary: This position will be instrumental in identifying new manufacturing technology. Responsibilities include working with vendors and design teams, follow through during the build phase, and implementation of this equipment in production before handing it off to the manufacturing team.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Project manage new equipment installations to automate and upgrade manufacturing processes.
  • Development and maintenance of robotic programs used throughout Hampton’s facilities.
  • Design and program management of fixtures used within the robotic processes.
  • Support/train manufacturing operators on the use of robotic automation equipment.
  • Documentation of all changes to production programs for future correlation to downstream process outputs.
  • Determination of key input variables within the automation process to ensure that process is robust against minor variations in casting dimensions.
  • Determination/implementation of key output variables to validate that critical functions within a program/piece have completed successfully before running additional product.
  • Support Manufacturing/Process owner in cross functional scrap initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited institution required. 3+ years’ experience in project management in an industrial environment.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years' experience programming robotics.
  • Experience with Motoman and/or Fanuc robots.
  • Offline programming experience.
  • Familiarity with fixture design for implementation in a robotic cell is beneficial.
  • Prior exposure / knowledge of statistical analysis.
  • Green Belt certification in Six Sigma.

  • Assist with painting in acrylics and oils on canvas

  • Assist with packing or preparing finished works when needed
