Summary
Administers radiation therapy as prescribed by a physician in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Travels between LVHN/LVPG Radiation Oncology sites as necessary. Trains and mentors new radiation therapists and students in addition to duties of the radiation therapist.
Job Duties
- Delivers a prescribed course of radiation therapy to patients and provides continuous monitoring during treatment. Schedules daily treatment appointments, answers patient questions, and explains the procedures being performed.
- Serves as a liaison between patient and other members of their care team and reinforces recommendations given to the patient concerning reaction to treatment and care of irradiation area, prevention or treatment of generalized and local side effects. Observes patient for any unusual reactions or events.
- Monitors radiation equipment inventory and follows all safety regulations regarding radiation exposure.
- Participates in CT Simulation procedures and/or other treatments/procedures.
- Participates in on-call, if applicable.
- Keeps current regarding developments, trends and techniques in radiation therapy and equipment.
- Mentors and teaches students and new employees.
- Trains and supports other radiation therapists in current or new department equipment/procedures, as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree Radiation Therapy or equivalent or
- Technical School Diploma Accredited Radiation Therapy Program
- Analytical ability to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
- Ability To keep confidential information regarding patients, and team members.
- Ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, record treatment data in patients' records, greet visitors, explain hospital policies, and/or relay patients' needs to appropriate personnel.
- Knowledge and experience with electronic health records.
- BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association within 90 Days and
- T - Radiation Therapy - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Within 180 Days

Summary
Operates cardiac ultrasound equipment and performs high quality cardiac ultrasound imaging (echocardiography) to be used for the diagnostic evaluation of chamber measurements, blood flow characteristics, and cardiac function of the heart.
Job Duties
- Performs high quality Transthoracic and Stress Echocardiography imaging studies per protocol on adult and geriatric patient population including the knowledge of transducer selection, equipment knobology for optimal image, and the knowledge/ability to perform all measurements, per protocol. Performs the patient meet/greet (confirm ID and order), reviews history and supporting clinical data for optimum diagnostic results, conducts patient prep (explain procedure, answer questions, take BP, apply electrodes), monitors patient wellbeing during test to recognize potential medical problems and takes action, and develops documentation (including Technical Sonographer Report). Provides medication/ IV insertion ( ultrasound enhancement agent, UEA) as needed.
- Provides fellow colleague/new hire, student, intern and/or Fellow proctoring/training.
- Participates in echocardiography performance improvement initiatives and contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives; adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards.
- Communicates appropriately, respectfully, and clearly to directors, managers, and colleagues. Accepts direction as provided.
- Communicates, notifies, and follows-up on equipment failures and/or maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED with Cardiac Ultrasound on-the-job training and with registry and >5 years experience or
- Technical School Diploma successful graduation from Cardiac Ultrasound program and registry within a year of hire
- Less than 1 year experience performing adult cardiac ultrasound
- Knowledge of cardiac ultrasound physics and cardiac anatomy & physiology.
- Skill to use various ultrasound machine makes and models and perform settings and knobology for optimal images.
- Skill to prioritize patient care and use critical thinking.
- Ability to demonstrate eye-hand coordination, mechanical, and analytical aptitude.
- Ability to (physically) position patients for optimal images and transport ultrasound equipment.
- Ability to support a patient in an emergency situation.

Summary

Summary
Administers all forms of respiratory care, both critical and general therapy, and directs and manages the respiratory and pulmonary care for a designated group of patients. Provides respiratory assessment, support, treatment, and diagnostic tests as part of the healthcare team.

- Conducts evaluation, management and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system
- Performs mechanical ventilator management, Bi-pap, and respiratory monitoring.
- Sets up, checks equipment, and administers respiratory medication for aerosol treatment as ordered by the physicians/or by patient-driven protocols, charts treatment, response, and progress.
- Performs inventory of respiratory equipment and maintains adequate stock of equipment.

Summary
Provides comprehensive coordination of all services and systems to provide an organized and efficient multi-disciplinary team approach for the care of patients within the SCT Program undergoing autologous or allogeneic stem cell transplant and Immune effector cell (IEC) therapy. Coordinates the entry and integration of prospective SCT patients into and through the SCT process ensuring timely evaluations and collaboration among the different disciplines involved. The SCT Coordinator is accountable to ensure that all patients who are being evaluated for and undergoing cellular therapy and transplant receive care in an organized, consistent, efficient, and high quality manner. The role will help to shape the development and evolution of the SCT Program within the Topper Cancer Institute, serving to enhance its overall effectiveness, productivity, and quality. This position facilitates an organized and comprehensive approach to the management of patients undergoing cellular therapy and transplant across settings of care and the trajectory of illness. Participates in the development and implementation of clinical programs and procedures and participates in the Program's performance improvement and quality programs to promote positive outcomes. Serves as a clinical and educational consultant to the nursing staff, medical staff, management, other members of the health care team and external vendors regarding the management of SCT patients.
Job Duties
- In collaboration with primary team, develops timeline for transplant/IEC therapy, based upon patient status, donor availability, TBI and program schedule; Ensures appropriate recipient pre-transplant/IEC evaluations including testing are completed in accordance with Program SOP’s and in the appropriate timeframe to meet timeline.
- As appropriate based upon assigned population, collaborate with primary team to identify potential related donors and/or unrelated donors via National Marrow Donor Program donor registry. Communicate status of available donors to primary care team on an ongoing basis; As appropriate based upon assigned population, collaborate with donor team or NMDP to ensure donor eligibility/suitability evaluations are completed in accordance with Program SOP’s/NMDP policies and within appropriate timeline.
- As appropriate to assigned population, coordinate with insurer, pharmacy vendors and/or LVHN pharmacy to ensure mobilization medications are available within desired timeframe and collaborate with Program’s Financial Coordinators and hospital finance to ensure all required approvals are obtained for cell therapy procedure and donor search as appropriate.
- Communicate with the patient/donor to ensure understanding of the SCT process including: appointments, testing and procedures, consents, and additional documents as needed.
- Collaborate with the primary team, donor team, inpatient and outpatient medical care teams, and other services (apheresis, radiology, radiation therapy, cell therapy laboratory, red cross, other external collaborators, etc) to coordinate and schedule mobilization, collection, admission, and infusion.
- Assess patient/donor/family physiologic, psychosocial, and financial needs. Based upon assessment, make recommendations to social work, financial planning, etc.
- Educate patients, families, and donors to assist understanding of the disease, processes and procedures related to mobilization, collection and infusion of cellular therapy products.
- Communicate pre-transplant/infusion status of SCT recipients/donors at the weekly SCT meetings
- Identify patients potentially eligible for clinical trials and notify research teams as appropriate.
- Participate collaboratively with SCT QI Program to evaluate the Program for efficiency, safety and effectiveness to increase patient outcomes

Summary
Provides direct and indirect patient care including assisting the physician in diagnostic and/or invasive cardiac, electrophysiology, structural heart, and peripheral procedures. Provides cross campus coverage as needed. Cross trains for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, and the Invasive Cardiology Holding and Recovery Area to meet department and patient needs.
Job Duties
- Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated supplies and equipment. Assists in positioning, prepping, and draping of the patient. Maintains medical/surgical asepsis.
- Performs hemodynamic and physiologic monitoring during routine and complex cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures; assesses changes and appropriately treats.
- Observes behavioral and physiologic changes due to medications; documents and takes appropriate actions.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to scrub, monitor, and circulate for all diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, peripheral, or structural heart procedures. Assists and anticipates the needs of the physician.
- Demonstrates effective arterial and venous sheath removal skills, including proper use of mechanical closure devices and manual compression.
- Utilizes standard work to maintain efficiency. Promotes cost-effective care through maintaining and monitoring appropriate use of inventory and par levels.
- Knows the location, operation, and care of equipment. Problem solves, trouble shoots, and takes corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment.

Summary
Participates as a member of the surgical team by scrubbing to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure while staying vigilant for maintenance of the sterile field. Anticipates the need of the surgeon and handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.

- Facilitates the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures and ensures that the operating room is a safe environment.
- Performs appropriate surgical counts according to facility policy and organizes case carts for upcoming procedures.
- Works in collaboration with the operating room circulator prior to a surgical procedure by preparing the operating room, gathering and preparing sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment.
- Prepares and maintains the sterile field using sterile and aseptic techniques and ensures that the surgical equipment is functioning properly and safely.
