The IBM Consulting Learning and Knowledge (L&K) Americas Lead will be accountable for overall skills growth for our client-facing Consulting staff in the Americas and local execution of the global L&K strategy. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead vehicle and engine emissions certification submissions to EPA & CARB
- Prepare and manage certification documentation per CFR requirements
- Coordinate emission testing (FTP-75, US06, HWFET, WLTP, etc.)
- Support powertrain calibration teams to achieve emissions compliance
- Analyze emission test data and resolve compliance gaps
- Support OBD, evaporative emissions, and durability requirements
- Interface with regulatory agencies during audits and reviews
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of U.S. EPA & CARB regulations
- Hands-on experience in automotive emissions certification
- Background in Powertrain / Engine Calibration
- Familiarity with 40 CFR Part 86 & Part 600
- Experience working in OEM environment (Ford preferred)
Preferred:
- Hybrid / Electrified vehicle certification experience
- Experience with certification tools & reporting systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering
About the Job
As a Certification Technician II, you will independently test and certify HEPA-filtered equipment such as biological safety cabinets, chemical fume hoods, and cleanroom environments at customer sites. In this role, you may also lead cleanroom certification projects and support other technicians onsite while ensuring compliance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
What You Will Be Doing
• Perform certification and testing of HEPA-filtered devices and cleanrooms at customer sites
• Lead cleanroom certification projects and guide technicians onsite when needed
• Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate equipment using specialized tools and testing equipment
• Record and upload testing data accurately using company systems
• Follow all company and customer safety procedures and facility protocols
• Communicate service updates with dispatch, technicians, and management
• Maintain personal tools and testing equipment inventory
• Identify and communicate potential service or business opportunities
What We Are Looking For
• High School diploma or GED required
• 1–2 years of customer-facing experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Ability to travel domestically up to 60%
• Must have served as a Certification Technician I for at least 9 months
