Job Summary
The Lead Composite Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, bonding, and finishing composite parts and subassemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. In addition to hands-on post-cure operations-including bonding, hardware installation, and final assembly-this role provides daily leadership to assigned technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production while supporting workflow coordination, training, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Technical
- Assemble, bond, and finish composite parts and subassemblies
- Perform secondary bonding, hardware installation, drilling, trimming, and sanding
- Prepare bonding surfaces and mix/apply structural adhesives per specifications
- Align, fit, and inspect parts to meet dimensional and tolerance requirements

What you'll do:
The Assembler II is responsible for meeting daily production targets with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, delivery, inventory management, and productivity. This role focuses on assembling Low Voltage Assemblies and performing all associated tasks, including those assigned to Assembler I positions (Flex and Lean), as well as assembly machine operation. Additional responsibilities include PowerWave2 hi-pot testing, label creation, quality verification, and completing material transactions in AS400.
May be required to obtain or maintain QEW certification to perform electrical testing on assemblies, as applicable.
Use a variety of fixtures, gauges, and assembly tools to assemble, adjust, or repair components.
Perform layout work and operate tools such as drills, saws, punches, riveters, caulking equipment, and painting tools as needed.
Apply identification labels to completed assemblies.
Retrieve and deliver materials to the assembly line to support production flow.
Prepare assemblies for shipment or storage as part of the final assembly process.
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and WSRA requirements.
Adhere to standard operating procedures and method sheets.
Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
Follow written and verbal instructions from supervisors.
Conduct visual inspections of materials before and after assembly.
Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet all specifications.

Assist and support the current Assembly team with electrical assembly projects, while learning and gaining experience in electrical machine design, machine testing, and/or machine controls. This position is one that understands how to read electrical schematics and can assist in properly building panels, routing, and terminating wires for complete machines. The ability to operate manual and powered hand tools, such as drills, grinders, and sanders is desired. This position is under the supervision of the Assembly Team and Electrical Engineers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for assisting higher-level Assemblers and Engineers in electrical panel builds.
· Read and understand assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and assembly instructions.
· Follow standard assembly procedures and adhere to pre-determined best assembly practices.
· Hand drill, ream, and tap holes for wire hold downs as needed.
· Layout and build electrical panels working off drawings and schematics.
· Properly label all wires according to electrical prints and schematics, and verbal instructions.
· Route and terminate wires according to electrical prints and schematics and verbal instructions.
· Work with engineers in the testing of electrical panels and machines.
· Work with a cooperative team when necessary.
· Ability to follow instructions without constant supervision.

Job Purpose:

FUNCTION:
In an assigned area or cell, work with limited supervision to perform the assembly of Production aircraft parts as well as the teardown, and assembly of Overhaul & Repair designated aircraft parts.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Performs fitting and assembly operations on various production aircraft parts.

Description
Position Summary: The Assembler I performs bench or line assembly operations to produce components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies using various hand tools and semi-automation equipment. Looks for guidance from lead personnel to have materials, equipment, and jobs setup and rely on lead personnel for direction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs duties by verbal or written instructions.
- Crimps, screws, welds, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to fasten parts together.
- Assembles or attaches various hardware such as caps, clamps, tape, lugs, connectors, etc. to assemblies.
- Tends to machines that shape, press, insert, wind, or weld component parts.
- Sorts, packs, and records production information.
- Maintains acceptable levels of production according to established standards.
- Assists other associates when needed.
- Maintains dialog with lead personnel on status of work and raw material to ensure efficiency.
- Practices good safety and housekeeping procedures and adheres to all established policies and procedures.
Requirements
Experience/Skills Required:
- Good communication skills and ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and work over equipment for long periods of time.
- Ability to work with and handle very small parts (.003 diameter).
- Ability to work with hand tools and possibly run a semi-automated machine.
- Ability to learn and understand dimensions on drawings.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to determine / recognize color coding.
- Basic math and measuring skills.
- Must be a good team player and have the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
Minimum Educational Requirements
- HS Diploma (or equivalent) preferred.
