About the Role

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will lead strategic Industrial Construction and Facilities Engineering sourcing projects for new and existing sites across Ross' supply chain network. Their primary goals will be to help Ross mitigate risks, procure materials, equipment and services at the best value and be a strategic advisor to internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Drive Strategic Sourcing and Sourcing Process Execution
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for Industrial Construction categories (e.g., steel structures, concrete, MEP systems, site services, etc.) and Facilities Maintenance categories (e.g., conveyor systems, fork trucks, racking, etc.). Analyze historical data to determine the highest risk and cost categories.
• Partner with Property Development, Engineering, Project Management, Legal, Risk Management and Finance teams to understand project needs. Manage expectations and set achievable milestones to arrive at the agreed upon goal.
• Develop and manage sourcing project timelines and lead socialization meetings. Update stakeholders regularly on project progress, risks and mitigation strategies.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers and contractors. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure performance and compliance. Develop and monitor supplier KPIs, coordinate regular QBRs and Top to Top meetings.
• Support the budgeting process and develop bottoms-up (quantity based) estimates.
• Develop RFPs and vendor response comparison tools (quantitative and qualitative). Work with Property Development, Engineering, Loss Prevention, IT and Legal stakeholders to understand requirements to be included in the RFP packages.
• Manage competitive events or sourcing process end to end with minimal supervision. This would include market research, RFP development, internal and external communication management, stakeholder alignment, etc.
• Conduct detailed market and vendor research to communicate findings through research summaries. Evaluate vendor core competencies and competitive positioning using open-source data and industry benchmarks.
• Proactively identify alternate sourcing opportunities across multiple Construction and Facilities Engineering material, equipment, parts and service categories. Analyze market trends and cost drivers to inform sourcing decisions.
• Drive cost savings initiatives through value engineering, competitive bidding, and strategic negotiations.
• Create presentations to communicate findings and vendor recommendations to stakeholders, to help with decision making.
• Serve as an escalation channel for internal stakeholders, to improve vendor service levels. Maximize Ross' position of leverage in any negotiation scenario.
• Support the Facilities Engineering team with sourcing requirements for Material Handling Equipment (MHE) repair, refurbishment and replacement.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Supply Chain, Construction Management, Business, Economics, Finance or Engineering (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years category management / strategic sourcing experience in Industrial Construction and Facilities Engineering. Multiple Construction and Engineering sourcing category experience preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of program or project management experience in a cross functional environment (technical and non-technical teams).
• Strong knowledge of corporate finance - budgeting, cash flow, P/L statements, balance sheets.

Pay range and compensation package

The base salary range for this role is $108,800 - $165,950. At EllisLudell, our Buyers don’t just place orders — they help keep production moving.

We design and manufacture engineered-to-order industrial laundry and water treatment systems used across North America. Every machine we build is different. Every project has a schedule. And every late part has the potential to delay customer shipments.

We’re looking for a mid-level Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys solving real problems — working directly with Engineering, Production, Customer Service, and suppliers to make sure materials arrive when they’re needed.

What You'll Be Doing

• Issue purchase orders for mechanical, electrical, and fabricated components based on engineering BOMs and production schedules
• Monitor open orders and proactively follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
• Expedite late or critical materials to prevent production delays
• Communicate delivery risks or supply disruptions to internal stakeholders
• Collaborate with Engineering regarding design changes and part revisions
• Work with Production and Customer Service to align material availability with build schedules
• Participate in production meetings as needed
• Engage directly with shop floor personnel to identify and resolve material shortages
• Maintain purchasing data in ERP system
• Support vendor communication regarding order status, lead times, and pricing updates
• Identify opportunities to improve planning and reduce reactive expediting
• Participate in occasional supplier visits, particularly during onboarding or when addressing delivery/quality concerns

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working within an ERP system
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Effective communication skills across departments and with suppliers

Preferred (But Not Required)

• Experience in engineered-to-order or custom equipment manufacturing
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or BOMs
• Experience purchasing mechanical or electrical components
• Exposure to supplier performance management or vendor negotiation

Director of Engineering – PLM & Data Governance

Location – Evansville, IN

The Director of Engineering – PLM & Data Governance is responsible for the strategy, architecture, governance, and operational reliability of the organization’s digital engineering ecosystem. This role oversees Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), CAD configuration management, and engineering data infrastructure.

This leader ensures that engineering artifacts such as CAD models, bills of materials, specifications, requirements, revisions, and engineering change records are accurate, secure, compliant, and accessible across the organization. The role also supports the development of a consistent digital thread connecting product development, manufacturing, and lifecycle support.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Systems Ownership

• Provide strategic direction and lifecycle management for PLM, CAD configuration management, and related engineering platforms.
• Define system architecture, configuration standards, lifecycle schemes, and long-term system roadmaps.
• Ensure system reliability, scalability, security, and performance.

Data Governance Leadership

• Establish policies, standards, and controls for engineering and product data.
• Define naming conventions, metadata structures, and data ownership models.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, traceability, and audit readiness.
• Lead master data governance efforts for product-related information.

Digital Thread Integration

• Drive integration between PLM and enterprise systems such as ERP, MES, QMS, analytics platforms, and other business systems.
• Ensure accurate and automated transfer of key product data including:
• Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Item master data
• Revisions
• Engineering change information
• Enable visibility into engineering utilization and product lifecycle performance.

Change and Configuration Management

• Standardize and automate engineering change workflows including ECR, ECO, ECN, and deviation processes.
• Establish structured and configurable BOM management practices.
• Maintain synchronization between Engineering BOM (EBOM) and Manufacturing BOM (MBOM).
• Implement centralized configuration rules and variant management.
• Ensure automated workflow notifications and task assignments for stakeholders.

Team Leadership and Organizational Development

• Lead and develop the data management team, including PLM administrators, data engineers, and system architects.
• Coordinate activities across distributed or global teams.
• Establish clear process ownership and accountability across engineering data domains.
• Strengthen capabilities in systems administration, governance, and analytics.

Continuous Improvement and Modernization

• Identify opportunities for system enhancements, automation, and workflow improvements.
• Lead multi-year initiatives including:
• PLM platform upgrades
• ERP integrations
• Data governance programs
• Enterprise system integrations
• Reduce manual work, rework, and data errors through process and system improvements.

Training and Capability Development

• Define and standardize training approaches for engineering systems and data management processes.
• Develop documentation and knowledge transfer practices to support system adoption and long-term sustainability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in PLM, engineering systems, or product data management leadership roles
• Experience administering and managing PLM platforms (Autodesk Vault Professional preferred)
• Strong understanding of CAD data management, BOM structures (EBOM and MBOM), and engineering change processes
• Experience integrating PLM with ERP or other enterprise systems
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams, including distributed or global teams
• Experience establishing data governance standards and improving engineering data systems and processes
