About the Unit:
The Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit at Mount Carmel East is a 28 bed unit. On this unit, you would see largely a cardiac population such as CHF, new dysrhythmias, PCIs, pacers, and some CTS patients (TAVRs, Mitral Clips, etc.). There is also a vascular aspect mixed in and we work very closely with our vascular surgeons (Carotid Endarterectomy’s, Endovascular AAA Repairs, Fem pops). This unit has a great mix of experienced nurses and new nurses.

Mount Carmel East features a fully integrated cardiovascular center, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, a dedicated Women’s Health Center, a maternity center, a Network Cancer Program, and a comprehensive orthopedics and spine program. We’re also home to Mount Carmel’s Level II Trauma Center, providing critical access to vital emergency services to eastern central Ohio.
We’ve recently completed a $310 million modernization, making our 400-bed, all-private-room facility one of the best in the region when it comes to contemporary clinical services and patient conveniences. We added a new five-story patient tower, a new surgical suite with 12 operating rooms, an expanded cafeteria and kitchen with bistro-like dining and room service, a new main entrance and lobby, expanded parking, peaceful respite areas, and park-like outdoor spaces to create an unprecedented patient experience.

Experienced analyst responsible for independently applying actuarial methodologies to complete structured projects and serves as a technical subject matter expert on assigned tasks.
What you'll do:
- Independently applies actuarial methodologies to complete structured projects (e.g.)
- Builds tools to test and implement new methodologies that improve accuracy of actuarial analysis; utilizes model results to select new variables and refresh existing variables in a rating algorithm; analyzes results from multiple methodologies to propose reserve selections and documenting rationale).
- Identifies and improves existing processes utilizing actuarial, mathematical, or statistical techniques.
- Proactively resolves technical issues and identifies appropriate issues for escalation.
- Assists others with troubleshooting issues.
- Creates instructions and training materials for actuarial tools and processes.
- Mentors new team members.
- Apply business acumen to provide actionable insights that help solve business problems.
- Effectively communicates insights and solutions to broad audiences including actuarial and non-actuarial stakeholders.
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of related actuarial/business/analytical experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 2 years of actuarial or analytical business experience.
- 3 Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) exams.
- Experience with relevant actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques and approaches used to support fact-based decision-making.
- Intermediate knowledge of data analysis tools, data visualization, developing analysis queries and procedures in Python, R, SQL, SAS, BI tools or other analysis software, and relevant industry data & methods and ability to connect technical insights to business problems.
What sets you apart:
- Familiarity with Excel and at least one programming language or modeling software package (Python, SQL, R, SAS, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience with basic actuarial pricing methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience aggregating and analyzing data to solve problems.
- Ability to effectively communicate insights and solutions to broad audiences including actuarial and non-actuarial stakeholders.
- P&C Personal Lines pricing experience.
- Familiarity and experience with industry pricing software such as Earnix.
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $77,120 - $138,810.

What you have:
- Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of related actuarial/business/analytical experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 2 years of actuarial or analytical business experience.
- 3 Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) exams.
- Experience with relevant actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques and approaches used to support fact-based decision-making.
- Intermediate knowledge of data analysis tools, data visualization, developing analysis queries and procedures in Python, R, SQL, SAS, BI tools or other analysis software, and relevant industry data & methods and ability to connect technical insights to business problems.
What sets you apart:
- Familiarity with Excel and at least one programming language or modeling software package (Python, SQL, R, SAS, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience with basic actuarial pricing methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience aggregating and analyzing data to solve problems.

- P&C Personal Lines pricing experience.
- Familiarity and experience with industry pricing software such as Earnix.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $77,120 - $138,810.

- Department culture and resources: Clinically excellent staff, dedicated team always willing to help each other. Our standard of care is vital signs taken every 4 hours at minimum, purposeful hourly rounding, patients out of bed/ambulating whenever possible.

Responsibilities
Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service. Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and that is based on patient and family needs. Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies plan of care based upon continuous evaluation.Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.Communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers, and confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base. As an Intermediate Critical Care Registered Nurse, you'll support a 20 bed unit that specializes in stepdown care serving a population that includes sepsis, diabetes, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with non-invasive respiratory support, stable tracheostomy tubes not requiring mechanical ventilation.
