Responsible for organizing, supervising and directing the delivery of quality patient care and coordinating department based activities. The Boise Heart Institute clinic is now hiring for a motivated and personable Medical Assistant for our award winning and growing Heart Institute family!

Position Summary & Highlights:
  • This MA position will help support surgeons, cardiologists, APP providers, PAs, and NPs in General Cardiology and a variety of sub-specialties such as Electrophysiology, Structural Heart, Interventional Cardiology, and post chemotherapy and radiation treatment. 

  • ***CNA only work experience does not qualify applicants for the MA position. See Minimum Requirements below for details.***

  • The clinic offers a lot of educational opportunities with bi-weekly lunch and learns with providers and content experts. They also offer online learning modules during orientation to help with cardiac knowledge base.

  • This clinic boasts a great team environment and friendly providers that encourage learning.

  • The Saint Alphonsus Heart Institute offers highly trained heart specialists who treat the most common to the most complex heart conditions.

  • The Heart Institute offers state-of-the-art Heart Centers in Boise and Nampa and outreach patient care to other cities and towns in the Treasure Valley!

Schedule:
  • 40 hours/week, 4-10 hour shifts , Monday - Friday.

  • Shift start around 7:00am/7:30am.

  • This position does not work weekends or major holidays

What You Will Do:
  • In addition to primary MA duties, you will perform EKGs and place heart monitors on patients and educate patients on their use.

  • You will complete prior authorizations and patient calls, and tasks in the in-basket.

  • An ideal candidate for this position is a team player who is self-motivated and likes to be challenged, is driven, and has strong critical thinking skills. You enjoy developing relationships with physicians and patients.

  • Experience with cardiac medications, EKG placement, and rhythm knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.

  • MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:

    • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)

    • American Medical Technologists (RMA)

    • National Healthcare Association (CCMA)

    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)

    • National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)

    • American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

    • National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)

  • New Graduates: 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.

  • Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

  • *EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification. Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details.

The Meridian Health Plaza (MHP) Family Medicine Clinic is looking for a personable and hard-working Medical Assistant!

Position Summary & Highlights
  • This position will work with a busy Family Medicine physician and will also work with other MAs and providers as well in a great workplace culture.

  • Our family medicine providers can address diagnosed health concerns early, before they become serious, as well as help you better manage existing conditions including physical, mental, and social health issues across all ages and stages of life.

What You Will Do:
  • This MA position will support a busy physician and also will support nurse visits, in-basket tasks, and float to other providers in the clinic when needed.

  • In addition to primary MA duties, you will administer immunizations, complete child well visits, and assist with minor procedures.

  • You will also perform phlebotomy, POC testing, UAs, ear lavages, and also complete tasks and orders in the task inbox. ​

  • An Ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, solid follow through, and has strong critical thinking skills.

  • You also like working in a strong team environment, have effective communication skills, and providing excellent patient care!

Work Schedule:
  • 36 hours per week, 4 - 9-hour days.

  • This position will work either Tuesdays - Fridays (Mondays off).

  • Around the hours of 8:00am - 5:30pm.

  • Schedule may vary some based on providers' schedules and clinic needs.
