Senior Interactive Experience Developer / Creative Coder

Location: Portland, Oregon | Hybrid (3 days in office)


Tandem Talent is partnering with an innovative, globally active creative technology company to recruit a Senior Interactive Experience Developer / Creative Coder. This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys combining strong programming skills with creativity to build immersive digital experiences that exist beyond traditional screens.


You will collaborate with designers, UX strategists, and fellow developers to create interactive environments used in corporate spaces, museums, universities, sports venues, and cultural institutions worldwide. The work focuses on developing experiences that blend digital and physical environments through interactive displays, sensing technologies, and responsive systems.

This is an opportunity to work with advanced technology while helping bring ambitious creative concepts to life in real-world environments.


The Role

As a Senior Interactive Experience Developer, you will play a key role in designing and building innovative front-end and interactive systems. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop engaging experiences, prototype new ideas, and help shape technical best practices.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading front-end development for client projects and internal innovation initiatives
  • Experimenting with emerging technologies and frameworks to create new digital experiences
  • Defining and maintaining coding standards and development best practices
  • Mentoring junior developers and supporting collaborative problem-solving
  • Conducting project reviews to ensure technical performance and creative quality
  • Producing documentation that supports both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Working within development tools including Atlassian, GitHub, MS Teams, Visual Studio, and Figma
  • Supporting installations and client projects, including occasional travel for site visits (approximately 2–3 per year)


What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate combines strong programming capability with an interest in creative technology and immersive environments.


Required experience:

  • Strong programming foundation with experience in creative coding and visual development
  • Experience with digital creation platforms such as TouchDesigner, Notch, Pixera, Unreal, or Unity
  • Programming experience with languages and APIs including Qt/QML, JavaScript (Three.js, WebGL, Canvas), Python, or Unreal Blueprint/C++
  • Strong browser-based development experience, particularly building creative in-browser experiences
  • Portfolio demonstrating engaging digital work beyond standard web applications
  • Graphics programming experience using OpenGL/GLSL, Vulkan, or DirectX and understanding of the graphics pipeline
  • Experience using Git/GitHub for collaborative development
  • Experience designing touch interfaces or other natural user interaction systems
  • Ability to rapidly prototype concepts and develop them into production-ready code
  • Understanding of UX principles and how technical decisions influence user experience
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
  • Curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm for exploring new technologies

  • Experience working with interactive hardware, sensors, or immersive technologies.


The Opportunity

The College of Computing was established in 1990 as the first such College at a public university and the second in the United States. Since that time, the college has grown into a world-class leader in research and education. The graduate CS program is currently ranked 6th and the undergraduate 5th nationally by U.S. News and World Report. The College consists of five Schools that provide specialized and general computing education to the entire campus. Job Summary

Provide support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory to include performing analyses; setup, operation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment; and maintaining stock of supplies. Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs. Job Summary

Act as the primary administrative support for a school Chair providing office related services including correspondence and report preparation, maintaining files, meeting arrangements and related functions. May be responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Chair and Associate Chairs, Dean, School faculty members and staff, students and visitors. This position typically will advise and counsel.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary administrative support to the Chair, including managing correspondence, preparing reports, maintaining files, and coordinating meetings.
  • Oversee PCard transactions: order supplies, process registrations, and fulfill approved requests for faculty, staff, and students. Ensure all required documentation is submitted and purchases are accurately tracked.
  • Plan and coordinate departmental events, including travel arrangements, venue reservations, catering, and equipment needs for both on- and off-campus functions.
  • Support faculty recruitment by initiating the interview process and serving as the primary point of contact for candidates.
  • Manage the faculty annual review process to ensure compliance with institute requirements.
  • Interpret and communicate administrative policies; develop and refine internal procedures in alignment with institute guidelines.
  • Utilize the PROMOTE system to manage academic promotion, tenure, research faculty promotion, and critical review processes on behalf of the Chair.
  • Coordinate unit purchasing activities, including preparing documentation, ordering supplies, and managing vendor relationships.
  • Review and approve correspondence, OneUSG, and Workday transactions on behalf of the Chair.
  • Certify monthly time reporting for faculty and staff.
  • Provide administrative support to the Associate Chairs as needed.
  • Maintain departmental listservs, phone directories, and file systems.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding of faculty and staff.
  • Respond to emails and manage the Chair's inbox and calendar.
  • Provide general administrative assistance as needed.

  • Schedule and oversee production staff including press operators, film cutters, and quality control personnel
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventative maintenance on DTF printers and screen printing presses
  • Track production metrics: rolls printed per day, orders completed, reprint rates, and throughput per shift
  • Identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks across printing, curing, cutting, and packing
  • Coordinate with art and customer service teams to ensure production-ready orders
  • Optimize gang sheet layout and print queues for maximum efficiency
  • Ensure quality standards are met before orders move to packing and shipping
  • Train, coach, and hold production staff accountable for standards and attendance
  • Report daily production numbers to leadership and flag potential delays


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in a production management role within decorated apparel, printing, or related manufacturing as a Screen Printing & DTF Production Manager
  • Hands-on experience with DTF printing, screen printing, or both
  • Proven experience managing a team of 10+ employees
  • Strong knowledge of production scheduling, capacity planning, and workflow management
  • Ability to analyze production data and drive decisions
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and leads by example


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DTF printers and Cadlink Digital Factory RIP software
  • Knowledge of gang sheeting, powder application, and curing processes
  • Familiarity with ERP or order management systems for production tracking
  • Screen printing press setup, registration, and ink management experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Job Description: High-Throughput Screening Research Associate II, III (Biodesigner II, III)


Responsibilities:

  • Perform massively parallel reporter assays and high-throughput screens across diverse cellular contexts using cellular and molecular readouts.
  • Develop and execute molecular biology workflows such as vector design and cloning, DNA/RNA extraction, RT-PCR, qPCR, and next-generation sequencing.
  • Support cell culture activities and experiments in multiple cell lines, at small and large scales.
  • Design and execute cell-based assays (AAV/lentiviral transduction, transfection, flow cytometry, immunostaining, and other plate reader assays).
  • Engineer and characterize cell-based systems using synthetic biology tools and techniques.
  • Conduct and troubleshoot experiments, independently and in collaboration with colleagues, to optimize screening throughput, sensitivity, and specificity.
  • Proactively troubleshoot technical issues and recommend potential corrective actions based on personal observations and literature searches.
  • Prepare summaries of data and present internally to colleagues and management.
  • Draft SOPs, follow protocols, diligently document experimental data in lab notebooks, and organize and maintain electronic work records.
  • Author scientific reports and data summaries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals, bridging early discovery with high-throughput screens to nominate and optimize candidates for further characterization.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of industry wet lab experience.
  • Mammalian cell culture experience (culturing, transfecting and transducing cells, and DNA/RNA purification from cells).
  • Molecular biology expertise (vector design and cloning, qPCR, primer and probe design, DNA/RNA extraction workflows)
  • Critical thinker with excellent communication skills who thrives in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Perform machines pre-print set-up and check.
  • Ensure registration, ink viscosity, color, and print quality on Flatbed presses are working properly.
  • Catching signs of the conveyor belt and preparing them for the next stage.
