Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Systems Health & Integrated Diagnostics Engineer (Level 5) to join the Reliability, Maintainability & System Health team in Berkeley, MO.

You will lead the development, integration, verification, and delivery of System Health models and comprehensive health-management capabilities that ensure safe and reliable mission execution. This role encompasses systems engineering, RAM (reliability, availability, and maintainability) modeling, supplier collaboration, and cross-disciplinary leadership.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical team to design, develop, test, and deliver Integrated Health Management (IHM) and System Health models using Reliability, Availability, Maintainability & Cost (RAMC) tools and best practices.
  • Translate customer requirements into compliant system-level health architectures and verification plans.
  • Drive systems-of-systems trades and analyses to optimize system health, reliability, maintainability, availability and lifecycle cost.
  • Coordinate and verify supplier deliverables (models, test evidence, requirements traceability) and lead supplier technical reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, software, diagnostics, and avionics integration teams to ensure consistent system health implementation.
  • Define, manage and validate requirements; create and maintain requirements traceability, risk and opportunity registers, and test strategies.
  • Plan and execute validation & verification (V&V) activities for internal, supplier, and contract/product specifications.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and technical support to MQ-25 and other Air Dominance programs on health management topics.
  • Mentor and develop team members; communicate technical progress and risks to program leadership and customers.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 14+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • 3+ years’ experience with cross-functional leadership, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication

  • Hands-on experience with health modeling and integrated diagnostics approaches and tools.

You will collaborate with a team focused on requirements development, performance evaluations, and independent verification and validation of standalone and integrated navigation hardware under challenging signal conditions. As a member of the GNSS/Navigation Systems Engineering Section you will...

  • Collaborate with a team of engineers to integrate, test and evaluate GNSS receiver and navigation hardware systems in APL test facilities, at field test sites, and external ground test facilities.
  • Lead Systems Engineering technical tasks such as systems level analysis, trade studies, analysis of alternatives, proposals and conceptual development for current and future US military PVAT systems.
  • Develop formal communications which are presented to project, program, and external sponsors as needed.
  • Explore performance improvements through experimentation and prototyping.
  • Collaboratively develop PVAT test plans and roadmaps, including the identification and development of capabilities needed to evaluate PVAT systems.

Qualifications

You meet our qualifications for the job if you...

  • Have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or another related technical field
  • Have 10 or more years of RF Engineering experience.
  • Have RF hardware integration and evaluation experience, preferably in a HiL environment.
  • Are familiar with one or more of the following: navigation principles, inertial navigation, aided navigation, Kalman filters, GNSS receivers.
  • Familiar with one or more of: C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, or real-time control software architectures.
  • Have experience using RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, waveform generators, oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, or RF recorders
  • Have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated success while working within a team environment.
  • Have experience leading technical teams.
  • Have the ability to travel up to 20% of the time, as needed.

  • Perform and witness leak checks, determining the source of leaks and evaluating the extent of repairs required.

  • Inspect final assemblies, subassemblies, and installations of parts and systems for workmanship, fit, alignment, and conformance with applicable drawings and specifications.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to evaluate and coordinate improvements in build processes and defect reduction initiatives.

  • Initiate and document any nonconforming materials or assemblies according to specifications and procedures.

  • Conduct audits and surveillance of manufacturing and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance.
