THE OPPORTUNITY

Michelin has an immediate opportunity at our American Synthetic Rubber Company (ASRC) chemical plant in Louisville, KY for a Process Design Engineer to demonstrate their industrial expertise to manage the evolution of the process at the site level. WHAT WILL YOU DO

• Serve as the primary liaison between plant teams and the Central Team, clarifying needs and coordinating support requests.
• Assist plants in problem solving common process issues and engage Central resources as needed.
• Recommend process modifications and ensure alignment with overall process strategy.
• Lead the qualification of process prototypes within the assigned zone on behalf of the Central Methods team.
• Drive the plant's process strategy and manage the Process Improvement roadmap.
• Contribute to the value stream mapping 3 year (VSM3Y) preparation activities and actively participate in related events.
• Maintain process mapping and performance databases for the zone and support industrial project startups.
• Develop, deploy, and share benchmarks, results, and findings through Central systems.
• Support the CAPEX Project Manager in developing industrial projects using established process design standards and methods.
• Identify needed updates to process standards, circulate approved standards, validate best practices for broader adoption, maintain expertise mapping, develop training materials, strengthen technical competencies, and ensure certification of key functions.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING

• B.S. degree in an engineering field; Chemical Engineering preferred
• 5+ years of experience in process engineering or quality control within a chemical process environment
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with partners, suppliers, customers, and colleagues at all organizational levels
• Proven teamwork, leadership, and organizational abilities
• Effective problemsolving and criticalthinking skills, with strong understanding of processtoproduct relationships
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and ability to learn internal software systems

Operates independently and cooperates with other Central Metrology Technicians to guarantee precision, dependability, and adherence to established standards for calibrations within Central Metrology Lab Scope.

Calibration: Check, analyze, and recalibrate measurement devices based on established criteria, maintaining accurate readings.

Documentation: Maintain clear, detailed logs of laboratory standards, calibration procedures, test findings, and maintenance carried out to follow quality management systems and external guidelines (e.g., ISO 17025).

Process improvement: Partner with fellow Central Metrology Technicians and Internal Business Partners to advance metrology practices and calibration protocols, spot opportunities for progress, and carry out solutions.

Training: Deliver instruction and mentorship as required to other technicians and internal business partners regarding metrology and calibration techniques and standard processes.

Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Perform calibrations on a wide range of measuring devices using precision measuring instruments and software, ensuring environmental controls in the lab are adequate before performing calibrations. Detect and communicate any measurement/calibration nonconformities to all interested parties.

Record and document test results, maintenance performed, and any deviations or non-conformities in calibration logs, records, and certificates, ensuring traceability and adherence to quality and regulatory standards.

Coordinate and arrange the servicing of devices alongside other Central Metrology Technicians to enhance lab operational efficiency. Use organizational and time management abilities to handle workloads and schedules efficiently.

Assist in the development and/or update of calibration procedures and documentation in accordance with National, International, or Industry Standards.

Provide technical aid and advice to colleagues and Internal Business Partners.

> Perform calibration of various parameters of gauge types, as approved by procedure training, evidence of competency, and maintaining individual uncertainties in alignment with other calibration technicians

KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

* Application of safety rules (LOTOTO, HV / LV maneuvers, instructions, regulations specific and non-specific to the instrumentation trade.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This Engineer will be responsible for completing the Mechanical Engineering portion of projects in support of the Plant Capital Project execution. They will also provide daily Plant Technical support, enabling the Plant to meet its Safety, Market, Productivity, and Quality goals. They will assist management with pre-studies of deployment and development projects in the M.E. field. They will also complete design studies, follow procurement and fabrication of equipment and lead the installation, commissioning and startup of the equipment in an industrial plant environment. WHAT WILL YOU DO

* Conduct feasibility studies of functional specifications; evaluate solutions against the criteria of cost, landmarks, risks, and functionality.

* Adhere to the quality system and established methods (risk analyses, FMEA, design reviews, quality planning, treatment of non-Conformities, etc.).

* Acquire validation of projects during the installation, start-up and ramp-up of the equipment in collaboration with team members.

* Facilitate procurement, factory acceptance tests, and maintain "as built" folders for assigned material and equipment projects.

* Provide project support, especially during installation. Start-up and ramp up phases, are often "on-site" and "hands on", and several projects include implementation schedules during planning site downtime.

* Create budget estimates and bid packages on assigned projects.

* Provide project documentation: mechanical designs, technical offer, safety risk assessment, quality risk assessments, maintenance & operator training documents and user manuals.

* Lead mechanical contractors or maintenance installation teams during equipment modifications & machine installations through start-up and commissioning.

* Provide project support, especially during installation, start-up and ramp up phases, is often "on-site" and "hands on", and many projects include implementation schedules during holidays and shutdowns.

Concepts, Quotes and Negotiations

• In conjunction with Business Development proactively obtain early opportunities to offer HBPO solutions to assigned customers. Identify strategies, document with appropriate CRM tools, and clearly prioritize opportunities, targets and progress
• In conjunction with Business Development obtain from assigned customers all possible intelligence to develop HBPO solutions that best fit customer needs (not necessarily customer wants)

Position Overview

We are seeking Senior Scientists to develop agentic AI systems that transform how drug discovery research is conducted. As part of the AI/ML Foundation team, you will build autonomous AI agents capable of reasoning, planning, and executing complex scientific workflows—from literature synthesis and target identification to experimental design and data analysis. This role requires a unique combination of expertise in large language models, agentic frameworks, and understanding of drug discovery processes. You will translate standard research workflows into agentic frameworks, develop new agent skills, and deploy systems that augment scientist productivity across Computational Sciences and Global Research.

Accountabilities:

• Develop agentic AI systems for drug discovery applications including target-disease association, automated literature search and synthesis, hypothesis generation, and intelligent design of experiments.
• Translate standard research workflows into agentic frameworks—decomposing complex scientific processes into autonomous agent tasks that can reason, plan, execute tools, and iterate based on results.
• Design and implement new agent skills (tools, functions, APIs) that extend agentic capabilities to specialized scientific domains including molecular design, property prediction, assay planning, and data analysis.
• Build agentic systems that integrate with foundation models and external knowledge sources for autonomous hypothesis generation, evidence retrieval, and scientific reasoning.
