About the Role


Trinity Health Of New England at Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, CT, is looking for a dynamic, team-oriented individual for the Lab Supervisor position in the Lab's Specimen Processing Section: Inpatient Phlebotomy & Accessioning.


You would lead the strategic and daily operations of assigned department, ensuring accurate, timely testing and exceptional service. This role oversees quality programs, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement. Responsible for staffing, training, and performance management, the supervisor fosters a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration. Acts as a technical expert and liaison across departments, resolves complex issues, and supports LIS enhancements. Maintains operational efficiency, fiscal responsibility, and a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities


  • Oversee the day-to-day technical and operational functions of the laboratory, ensuring consistent workflow, timely specimen processing, and adherence to established protocols.
  • Monitor workload distribution and adjust staffing or processes to maintain service continuity.
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard laboratory staff. Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physical, Chemical, or Biological Science. Or, an Associate’s degree is acceptable with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Clinical Laboratory Science.
  • Current ASCP certification (or equivalent) relevant to the assigned department is required.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Clinical Laboratory Science. Prior experience in a senior, lead, or supervisory role in large Lab environment is highly preferred.
  • Experienced in phlebotomy.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for quality control review activities for the Bank’s loan portfolio. The Loan Servicing Quality Control Specialist will assist in creating and maintaining QC requirements related to loan operations. This will include validating system reports, follow-up for missing or inaccurate information, and performing other duties pertaining to the loans held, serviced, originated, or sold by the Bank. In addition, this candidate will monitor and review all necessary quality control tasks to ensure they are performed in compliance with Bank policies and procedures. The desired candidate will have a very strong attention to detail with the ability to quickly resolve any issues to mitigate both monetary and reputational risk.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs reviews related to reports and/or loans in accordance with the department’s procedures to ensure customer and bank expectations are met.
  • Maintains existing procedures/processes and coordinates implementation of new procedures/processes to ensure the Bank is in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, as needed.
  • Updates and maintains quality control log, note inventory log, and PIF log.
  • Performs quality control reviews on all new loan files to include core system and documentation.
  • Performs quality control activities on closed and denied/withdrawn loans as defined in policies and procedures.
  • Reviews quality control departmental reports for maintenance activities, accuracy and completion.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

  • Post high school education with one (1) to three (3) years of mortgage loan servicing experience or some comparable combination of education and experience.

JOB SUMMARY This is highly responsible professional geographic information systems analysis, digital database analysis and administration work involving the maintenance of software and hardware of a computerized digital database.

Work involves responsibility for effective and efficient maintenance of a geographic information system.

Duties include development and implementation of upgrades to system components, providing support to project engineers and outreach staff, map creation, data creation, data analysis, data management, and database development.

This position also has the responsibility for making difficult geographic information system quality control and assurance decisions.

This work requires that the employee have knowledge, skill and ability in computer platforms, Windows operating systems, or comparable, automated mapping and facilities management software.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED Works under the general supervision of the Director of Information Technology or other appropriate staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in geography, geographic information systems, or a related field plus two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in geographic information system hardware and software operations and maintenance and at least some experience with a Windows, or comparable, operating system.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must have a valid driver's license.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of geographic information systems and cartographic principles and practices.

Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL), system programming, and database administration.

Knowledge of public administration principles and practices as applied to work unit reporting and routing administrative procedures.

Knowledge of cartography, geodesy and photogrammetry as related to digital databases.

Ability in oral and written communications.

Ability to administer policies and procedures including planning, routine decision-making, and report development and writing.
