Ultrasound Technologist Roles and Responsibilities:

- To perform various ultrasound procedures, including education and preparation of the patient and operation of ultrasound equipment.
- To perform general and vascular ultrasound procedures, as well as portable ultrasound exams in the operating room or special care areas within the hospital and at outpatient centers as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Job Summary: To perform diversified duties in the Electrophysiology Lab and Hybrid OR, assisting the electrophysiologist intra-procedurally, including preparation and positioning of patients, operation of x-ray equipment in radiological and fluoroscopic procedures, scrubbing, monitoring, and recording hemodynamic parameters according to policy. Must complete corporate and department-specific skill validations and maintain core competencies.

Core Competencies: The CVT will be competent to monitor and scrub diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology studies, ablations, device cases such as: generator changes, PPM and ICD implants including complex CRM devices, device explants, lead extraction, venogram, temporary PPM, left atrial appendage closure, and implantable loop recorders. Responsibilities may also include training new or existing employees. The CVT Staff may progress to CVT Intermediate or CVT Advanced by completing skill validations and maintaining competencies to monitor and scrub additional EP Lab procedures.

Qualifications:

- Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, patients, physicians, and families to achieve positive outcomes.
- BLS/ACLS certification required.
- Experience as a cardiovascular technologist in a Cardiac Cath Lab or EP Lab preferred.
- CEPS or RCES certification preferred.
- Graduate of an approved cardiovascular technology program preferred.
