About Our Unit:
Our 25-bed Neurosurgery Unit provides specialized care for patients recovering from brain and spine surgeries, as well as ENT, trach, and thyroid procedures. Nurses gain hands-on experience with complex surgical cases while supporting patients through every stage of recovery. We’re a collaborative, growth-focused team committed to learning and exceptional care.

Qualifications:

Under the direction of an RN or LPN, you will:
Assist with individualized patient care to help each child achieve their highest level of wellness
Perform designated clinical procedures and essential non-clinical support tasks

Contribute to a positive, safe, and supportive environment for patients and families
High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC, or enrollment in a high school–based healthcare career program

If you’re new to healthcare, Mercy provides a 175-hour state-approved training program as part of your orientation (must be completed within 90 days of hire).
BLS required within one month of hire
Completion of PCA competencies within 3 months

LPN utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments.
Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
Experience: Can be new or experienced LPN
Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

• S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support)
• Six Assessment & Care Modules
• Other unit-specific certifications as required
Physical Requirements/Demands: Stand/Walk most of the time on duty; significant amount of bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance; push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds

Mercy Therapy Services - Outpatient

Education: Current State license of Physical Therapy. Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy
Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice
Certifications: BLS certified
Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients
