Responsibilities

Information Professional Officers (IPOs) oversee the seamless operation of the global Naval network environment. Their responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Naval network warfare missions in developing tactics and procedures to realize tactical, strategic and business advantages afloat and ashore
  • Driving interoperability with joint, allied and coalition partners
  • Building professional excellence through education, training and certification and milestone qualifications
  • Optimizing organizational effectiveness through cutting-edge technologies, knowledge management techniques and a culture of innovation
  • Helping to develop and deploy information systems, command and control and space systems
  • Serving as a key part of the Information Dominance Corps in its mission to gain a deep understanding of the inner workings of adversaries
  • Overseeing the work of Information Systems Technicians - Enlisted Sailors (no degree required) who serve as specialists in information technology


Work Environment

Information Professionals serve in challenging roles of increasing scope and responsibility both afloat and ashore. This could include:

  • Serving as part of Battle Group staffs on ships at sea
  • Working in C4I/Space/Surveillance on shore tours
  • Serving on major Navy and joint staffs
  • Serving in command of key communication and surveillance facilities around the globe


Training & Advancement

Those pursuing an Information Professional Officer position are required to attend Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Newport, RI.

Upon completion, candidates typically attend a five-week IP Basic Course of instruction in Pensacola, FL, before or during their initial assignment. IPOs must complete specific qualifications as part of their training during Fleet tours and are expected to pursue advanced education opportunities.

Promotion opportunities are regularly available but competitive and based on performance.

Specialized training received and work experience gained in the course of service can lead to valuable credentialing and occupational opportunities in related fields in the civilian sector.

Postgraduate education is important to the success of the Information Professional. Most IPs will complete a master's degree in C4I, space, information systems, computer science or modeling and simulation.

Qualifications & Requirements

A degree from a four-year college or university is a minimum educational requirement to become a Commissioned Officer. Candidates seeking an Information Professional Officer position must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in a technical field, preferably in one of following fields: Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Operations, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, General Engineering.

All candidates must also be: U.S. citizens, willing to serve worldwide, eligible for a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance and qualified for sea duty.

General qualifications may vary depending upon whether you're currently serving, whether you've served before or whether you've never served before.

Part-Time Opportunities

There are part-time opportunities available as an Information Professional Officer.

Serving part-time as a Navy Reserve Sailor, your duties will be carried out during your scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Information Professional Officers in the Navy Reserve typically work at a location close to their homes.

For annual training, Information Professional Officers may serve anywhere in the world, whether on a ship at sea or at bases and installations on shore.

We are seeking skilled Make-Ready Designers (primary focus) and Power Distribution Designers to support engineering programs for major electric and telecom utilities. Job Description

The Quality Engineer ensures product integrity, compliance, and customer protection within the Distribution Center by maintaining strict control of nonconforming product, leading investigations for customer complaints related to shipping errors or transportation damage andsustaining the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

The role drives corrective and preventive actions, supports internal audits, strengthens logistics processes, and promotes a culture of quality ownership across warehouse and shipping operations.

Product Nonconformance Management

  • Maintain the identification, segregation, documentation, and disposition of nonconforming product within the DC.
  • Ensure no nonconforming product is shipped without formal approval.
  • Track trends in damages, mislabels, and packaging issues.
Customer Complaint Management (Shipping & Transportation)
  • Shipping errors
  • Missing or incorrect items
  • Packaging failures
  • Transportation damage
  • Apply structured problem-solving (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa).
  • Define and follow up on corrective actions with Operations, Logistics, and Carriers.
  • Communicate complaint status and risks to internal stakeholders.
Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015)
  • Maintain DC-specific procedures, work instructions, and records.
  • Coordinate internal audit schedules and support external audits.
  • Ensure document control and compliance with ISO requirements.
Internal Audits & Process Discipline
  • Plan and execute internal audits for receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Document findings and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Validate adherence to Standard Work and packaging standards.
Continuous Improvement & Lean
  • Implement Lean tools (5S, standardization, Poka-Yoke, Kaizen) in warehouse processes.
  • Analyze data to reduce:
  • Shipping errors
  • Transportation damage
  • Rework and repacking
  • Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
  • Support cross-functional improvement projects.
Problem Solving & Risk Prevention
  • Lead root-cause analysis for internal defects and customer complaints.
  • Validate effectiveness of corrective actions through data and audits.
  • Identify risks in packaging, labeling, handling, and storage processes.
Training & Quality Culture
  • Train warehouse personnel on:
  • Defect detection
  • Packaging standards
  • Escalation processes
  • Handling of nonconforming product
  • Promote quality ownership across all shifts.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Experience in manufacturing quality, process engineering, or related technical roles.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, A3 etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in HVAC, automotive, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC.

What you will do:

The HVAC Prototype Fabricator (Model Maker) will work on the Engineering Lab team that is part of the Bosch Home Comfort Group. In this division we design, test, manufacture and assemble heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment for the light commercial and residential markets. This is an opportunity to work in our brand new, state-of-the-art laboratory!

How you will do it:

  • Build prototype test equipment per engineering specifications.
  • Fabricate custom parts for test units and our testing stations.
  • Invent new concepts for HVAC equipment.
  • Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
Qualifications

What we look for:

Required Qualification:
  • 2 year degree, HVAC training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years suggested minimum experience.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and skills in such areas as reading wiring diagrams, modifying unit wiring and controls, sheet metal fabrication, brazing, and welding.
  • Ability to lift equipment, compressors, units, motors, sheet metal parts etc.
  • Experience with CAD or CNC programing is desired.

Job Description

The Quality Engineer will ensure product conformity and process stability during new product introductions, engineering changes, and transfers by leading the full PPAP process and coordinating First Article Inspections (FAI). This role safeguards customer requirements, compliance, and product readiness through disciplined validation, documentation, and cross-functional alignment.

PPAP Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute PPAP for internal and supplier components according to AIAG and Bosch requirements.
  • Validate all deliverables: DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Dimensional Results, Material Certifications, Capability Studies, PSW.
  • Maintain full documentation traceability and version control in corporate systems.
  • Coordinate design changes, deviations, and technical updates with Engineering.
First Article Inspection (FAI)
  • Plan and execute FAI for internal and supplier first-piece submissions.
  • Review drawings, GD&T, critical tolerances, and special characteristics (CTQ).
  • Perform or coordinate dimensional and functional measurements using metrology equipment (including CMM).
  • Document results in FAI reports, dimensional layouts, and inspection records; drive corrective actions when deviations occur.
Measurement Systems & MSA
  • Ensure all measurement equipment used for PPAP/FAI is calibrated and suitable.
  • Coordinate MSA studies (GR&R, linearity, bias) for critical characteristics.
  • Validate measurement methods, fixtures, and inspection strategies.
Process & Product Readiness
  • Confirm that processes are documented and controlled prior to release (PFMEA, Control Plan, Work Instructions).
  • Ensure proper identification and control of special characteristics.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to APQP, PPAP, and FAI.
  • Provide technical support during ramp-up and engineering changes.
Supplier Quality Support
  • Communicate PPAP/FAI requirements to suppliers and ensure timely, compliant submissions.
  • Evaluate supplier capability through Cpk/Ppk studies and risk assessments.
  • Follow up on corrective actions and improvement plans.
Reporting & Governance
  • Maintain dashboards for PPAP/FAI status, risks, and priorities.
  • Escalate critical issues to Engineering, Purchasing, and Leadership.
  • Ensure documentation discipline and adherence to Bosch Q-Basics.
