Our department continues to evolve evidence-based treatment for multiple substance use disorders. We incorporate peer recovery specialists and a range of technology and innovative techniques in collaboration with addiction researchers at Virginia Tech and the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute. Our faculty includes psychiatrists who are board-certified in both addiction psychiatry and addiction medicine certified physicians from across Carilion, including Emergency Medicine and Ob/Gyn. We have an established Fellowship in Addiction Medicine that is part of this organizational structure. We work closely with research collaborators at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute and the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in growing of many initiatives.
