Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide emergency care for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients
- Perform adult and pediatric outpatient assessments
- Newborn resuscitation
- Treat orthopedic non-displaced fractures
- Suturing of minor lacerations and performing incision and drainage
- Address uncomplicated psychiatric cases across all age groups
- Diagnose and manage common industrial-related medical problems
- Manage ventilation, including establishing and maintaining airways and using various ventilation modes for up to 24 hours without pulmonary consultation
- Evaluate and manage acute volume and blood pressure issues
- Perform central line and arterial line placements
- Interpret EKGs
- Conduct arthrocentesis, lumbar puncture, and paracentesis
- Execute additional emergency medicine related procedures
Additional Information
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine required
- Michigan medical license required at time of credentialing; IMLC not accepted
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required; ATLS required for ABEM/ABOEM providers, both ATLS and ACLS required for FM/IM
- Candidates must be local with a clean background for expedited credentialing
- Recent (within 30 days) NPDB self-query required at presentation

This opportunity features 11a-11p shifts with a single advanced practice provider shift daily and offers exposure to a high-volume Level 3 emergency department. Candidates must have at least two years of recent emergency department experience and be prepared for a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide patient care in a high-volume emergency department with an annual ER volume of 40,150
- Manage cases across all acuity levels, utilizing a fast-track system for lower acuity patients
- Participate in admission process: 60 percent of hospital admissions are received from the ED, with 20 percent of ED patients admitted daily
- Coordinate with IM and surgical residents for admission orders; admitters input orders upon bed request
- Follow established protocols for pediatric and trauma transfers
- Ensure patients requiring labor and delivery are sent directly to the appropriate department
- Work collaboratively with attending physicians, residents, and hospital staff
- Adhere to hospital procedures and maintain high standards of clinical care
Additional Information
- Board certification as a Physician Assistant in Emergency Medicine required
- Michigan license required at time of credentialing; IMLC not accepted
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certifications required
- DEA certification required
- Minimum two years of recent emergency department experience required
- Clean background for expedited credentialing required
- Copy of NPDB self-query required at time of presentation (pulled within 30 days)
- Must be local; remote or non-local candidates will not be considered
