POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Care Coordinator will be instrumental in assisting the department and clinicians in the Ambulatory setting by gathering information, coordinating utilization efforts, and reviewing HCC quality indicators, and RAF scores to eligible Medicare Advantage beneficiary. Will monitor opportunities within the Medicare managed group to enhance financial outcomes. Will coordinate the transition of care and the interdisciplinary treatment for Medicare managed patients across the healthcare continuum. Facilitates the delivery of services, evaluates effectiveness, tracks outcomes and functions as the patient advocate to identify and communicate health care needs. Works collaboratively with clinical staff, clinic leadership, and outside agencies in an effort to improve patient outcomes, compliance, and decrease complications.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with current RN licensure in the State of Texas, BSN preferred. Three years recent, full time hospital experience preferred. Work experience in case management, utilization review, or hospital quality assurance experience is preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Current license from the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas to practice as a registered nurse is required. National certification in related field is desirable. Case Manager Certification (CCM, CPHQ, or ANCC) or Certified Diabetes Nurse Educator certification is highly desirable. The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Life Actuary to join the Life Company's Asset Liability Management Team. This role coordinates, prepares, and performs actuarial analyses required to develop new products, project future results, reprice existing products, and/or determine financial strength.

This role is remote eligible in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. However, individuals residing within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office will be expected to work on-site four days per week. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Performs complex work assignments utilizing actuarial modeling software driven models for pricing, valuation, and/or risk management.
  • Reviews laws and regulations to ensure all processes are compliant; and provides recommendations for improvements and monitors industry communications regarding potential changes to existing laws and regulations.
  • Runs models, generates reports, and presents recommendations and detailed analysis of all model runs to Actuarial Leadership.
  • May make recommendations for model adjustments and improvements, when appropriate.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Operates and sets up devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration, aerosol generators, and disposable respiratory care products while following specific parameters for treatment.
  2. Provides emergency care, including artificial ventilation, external cardiac massage, and assists staff with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  3. Collects and analyzes arterial blood gases and is able to recognize normal, abnormal and critical values and able to provide appropriate corrective intervention.
  4. Follows physician orders for treatment and evaluates requirements for treatment, such as treatment type, mode and duration of therapy, universal precautions, and medication dosage.
  5. Monitors patient’s response to therapy by evaluation of vital signs, arterial blood gases, auscultation of breath sounds, pulse oximetry and end-tidal CO2 measurement.
  6. Consults with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals for changes in patient’s status and works as part of the team to manage the patient’s plan of care.
