Summary: Ensures the department is running in a safe, productive manner. Focuses on production, quality and people. Identifies, investigates and works to solve problems that arise. Works closely with department employees and reports any issues to the Ricotta Manager and/or Associate Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1.\tAnalyzes and evaluates information concerning daily operations and how these results positive or negatively affect department performance.2.\tMonitors floor activities in department. 3.\tMonitors punches and ensure there is sufficient personnel including any temporary hours. 4.\tComplete all records and charts as required. 5.\tPerforms administrative managerial duties in an accurate, timely and professional manner. (Phone calls, voice mail, paperwork, meeting presentations.)6.\tMeets regularly with shift supervisors and sanitation 7.\tSupervisor to stay informed about all issues arising in the department.8.\tWorks with all departments to ensure proper adherence to GMP, GSP and QC policies and procedures 9.\tActively work on production floor to facilitate the exchange of data between various departments. 10.\tOperates with other management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures and goals. 11.\tSuggest and debate alternative methods and procedures in solving issues that arise. 12.\tIdentifies strengths and/or weaknesses of the employees and demonstrate the ability to train and coach to strengthen weaknesses and utilize strengths. 13.\tCollects and provides any data necessary for budget creation and implementation.14.\tParticipates in operating budget, goals, and objectives of the department and works toward meeting and/or exceeding these expectations.15.\tDepartment employee meetings conducted on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.16.\tResponsible for hiring and scheduling required within the department, including temporary staff if necessary.17.\tMaintains open communication with all employees including department managers.18.\tImplement special projects and procedures as directed.19.\tMaintains departmental sanitation and safety operations. Enforces all GMP's, Quality, OSHA, and AIB specifications. 20.\tMaintains employee files including payroll, attendance record, vacation, tardiness, disciplinary review, and annual performance reviews.21.\tFind cost savings within the department's daily parameters.22.\tWorks close with maintenance on a variety of issues related to equipment, department maintenance and preventative maintenance programs.23.\tAware of and practice Plant's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as well as Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).
Requirements
Qualifications:
*\t2-3 years of experience in packaging/manufacturing setting preferred.
*\tPrevious food manufacturing experience preferred.
*\tAbility to perform a multitude of tasks.
*\tKnowledge of computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
Education and/or Experience:
*\tHigh School Diploma/GED required.
*\tAssociate's degree in business administration or dairy science preferred.

Lactalis USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a HR Core Services Intern based in Buffalo, New York.
This paid internship will work a minimum of twenty hours per week. The Human Resource Core Services Intern will assist the Core Services Department with various HR assignments and projects within Lactalis USA. The HR Intern will support a team of HR professionals with projects in the areas of Benefits, HR Systems, Payroll, HR Policy and Procedures, and other capacities of Human Resources.
From your EXPERTISE to ours
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Provide support on daily tasks in line with department objectives including auditing employee changes, reporting, and various HR projects
- Conduct internal HR Audits of employee records, policies & procedures, recurring deductions, status change forms, payroll data, and system configurations
- Complete data analysis allowing departments to reach informed decisions
- Enter, maintain and process items such as wage garnishments, child support deductions, and unemployment documents
- Respond to and resolve questions and issues in a timely and professional manner
- Provide assistance in key project plan tasks (i.e. payroll projects, software migrations, etc.); follow-through to complete on time and with accuracy
- Assist with mandatory reporting, such as Affirmative Action, EEO, CA Pay Data, and ACA, as well as other internal reporting requirements
- Conduct benefit audits to identify vendor remittance discrepancies and ensure employee deduction accuracy
- Review, correct, and track various human resources documents including I-9's and various other intra-company forms
- Facilitate communication among individuals' inter-office and intra-office
- Create manuals and standard operating procedures for new processes
- Assist with production of communication materials for the Core Services department, including Benefit Newsletters, Wellness Communications, and HRIS/Payroll updates
- Assist with organizing and resolving tax notices and related issues

Lactalis USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Supervisor in Mozzarella Packaging based in Buffalo, New York.Summary: Ensures the Mozzarella Packaging department is operating properly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:1.\tAnalyzes and evaluates information concerning daily operations and how these results positively or negatively affect department performance.2.\tEnsures department is running in a smooth efficient manner, completes supervisor rounds as required. 3.\tWorks with all departments to ensure proper adherence to GMP, GSP and QC policies and procedures and proper maintenance of equipment.4.\tSuggest and debate alternative methods and procedures in problem solving procedure. 5.\tParticipates in operating budget, goals, and objectives of the department and works toward meeting and/or exceeding these expectations.6.\tMonitors punches and ensure there are sufficient personnel including temporary hours. 7.\tCompletes all records and charting as required.8.\tMeets regularly with shift supervisors and sanitation supervisors to stay informed about all issues arising in the department.9.\tDepartment employee meetings conducted on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.10.\tPerforms administrative managerial duties in an accurate, timely and professional manner. (Phone calls, voice mail, paperwork, meeting presentations).11.\tResponsible for hiring and scheduling required within the department, including temporary staff if necessary.12.\tActively works on the production floor to facilitate the exchange of data between various departments.13.\tMaintains open communication with all employees including department managers.14.\tImplement special projects and procedures as directed.

Qualifications:

*\tStrong communication abilities, written and verbal.
Education and/or Experience:
*\tHigh School Diploma/GED required.
*\tAssociates Degree in Business Administration or dairy science preferred
*\tKnowledge of computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
*\t3-5 years of Supervisory experience preferred.
*\tPrevious food manufacturing experience preferred.

Lactalis USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Supervisor - Ricotta Packaging - 2nd shift in Buffalo, New York.Summary: Ensures the department is running in a safe, productive manner. Focuses on production, quality and people. Identifies, investigates and works to solve problems that arise. Works closely with department employees and reports any issues to Ricotta Packaging Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.1.\tAssists operators in set up and start of packaging.2.\tInsures performance of quality control checks. 3.\tVerifies code information on all cups, boxes, packages and pallet labels.4.\tCompletes and maintains appropriate paperwork/reports.5.\tVerifies operator logs each hour with signature.6.\tPerforms seal checks on each line each half-hour.7.\tTours entire room on a half-hour basis. 8.\tMonitors product giveaway at check weighers and address any issues with the machine operator.9.\tAssures that proper product sampling is complete and taken to the laboratory in a timely manner. 10.\tReviews metal detection logs, addresses any issues that arise. 11.\tChecks cooling spiral temperatures, spiral speeds, and before and after cooling temperatures.12.\tEnsures sufficient manpower is scheduled for next day's activities. Makes adjustments if necessary.13.\tEnsure that there are sufficient supplies (hoods, arm sleeves, and gloves) for the day.14.\tMaintains employee records including attendance, and write-ups as needed. 15.\tMaintains an open line of communication with all employees in Ricotta Packaging department.16.\tIdentifies, investigates and works to solve any problems that arise in the department.
