The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) is currently seeking a Psychometrician to join our team. In this role, the Psychometrician is responsible for leading the psychometric activities for examinations and facilitating improvements to psychometric methods, processes, and relevant issues in the evaluation of medical knowledge and education.

Reporting to the Manager, Psychometric Operations, the Psychometrician has the following primary responsibilities:

• Facilitate/perform item analysis, IRT calibrations, scoring, equating, standard setting, and validity and reliability studies for several certification examinations.
• Develop, maintain, and/or improve operational psychometric processes
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and exam developers in item development and review processes and exam design, development, and review processes.
• Report examination results and related research to physician and non-physician audiences.
• Provide oversight and support for data analysts in research projects and operational work.
• Handle inquiries (by phone and in writing) related to examination scoring.
• Collaborate on research and development projects within and across departments and communicate results to the board and to the research community.
• Advise on research, measurement, statistical, and systems issues.
• Plan for projects by anticipating work and the required resources, and understand the importance of operational and project planning processes as it relates to the use of company’s fiscal and human resources.

The ideal candidate has a doctorate degree in educational/psychological measurement, statistics, or related field with zero to three years’ experience and has the ability to effectively use statistical analysis programs and IRT software including (but not limited to) SAS, R, In addition, experience in the principles and application of psychometrics including item response theory (i.e., item calibration, item evaluation, linking/equating, and IRT scoring), classical test theory, and standard setting. To thrive in this role at ABIM, one must have excellent communication, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.

Biomedical Equipment Engineering Manager

Philadelphia, PA (Onsite)

We are seeking a Biomedical Equipment Engineering Manager to lead the maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational reliability of medical equipment across a hospital environment in Philadelphia, PA. This is an onsite leadership role responsible for overseeing biomedical engineering operations, ensuring critical medical devices remain safe, compliant, and fully operational to support patient care.

This position will supervise biomedical equipment technicians and engineers while collaborating closely with clinical staff, hospital leadership, and vendors to maintain high standards for equipment performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in hospital-based biomedical equipment maintenance, medical device troubleshooting, and team leadership within a clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETs) and Biomedical Engineers responsible for hospital equipment maintenance and support

• Oversee preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration programs for a wide range of medical devices and clinical equipment

• Troubleshoot complex issues involving diagnostic, therapeutic, and patient monitoring equipment

• Ensure all equipment maintenance activities meet hospital regulatory requirements and accreditation standards including Joint Commission and FDA guidelines

• Develop and manage equipment lifecycle planning, including replacement strategy and capital equipment upgrades

• Coordinate with clinical departments to ensure equipment availability and minimize disruption to patient care

• Manage relationships with OEM vendors and third-party service providers for specialized repairs and service contracts

• Implement reliability improvements and maintenance best practices to increase equipment uptime and operational efficiency

• Maintain accurate records and documentation within CMMS / biomedical asset management systems

• Support new medical equipment installations, system integrations, and facility expansion initiatives

• Ensure compliance with hospital safety standards and biomedical engineering best practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

• 5+ years of biomedical equipment experience within a hospital or healthcare system

• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing biomedical technicians or engineers

• Strong expertise in medical device troubleshooting, maintenance, and preventive service programs

• Experience supporting equipment such as patient monitors, imaging systems, infusion pumps, anesthesia machines, ventilators, and diagnostic equipment

• Knowledge of Joint Commission standards, FDA regulations, and healthcare compliance requirements

• Experience using CMMS or biomedical equipment management systems

Preferred Experience

• Experience managing biomedical operations across multiple departments or hospital campuses

• Familiarity with network-connected medical devices and clinical technology systems

• Certification such as CBET (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician) or related biomedical certification

Position Summary:

Aro is expanding our Nucleic Acids Chemistry team to design and synthesize novel Centyrin-oligonucleotide conjugate based therapeutics. The focus of this role would be on improving potency, reducing OTEs and creating new IP for Aro’s siRNA design. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of how to generate novel and testable oligonucleotide designs to contribute to oligonucleotide-based therapeutic discovery. The position will require hands-on laboratory work. Close collaboration with other members of the Aro team across protein engineering, chemistry and biology is essential. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to efforts that support the company’s portfolio of preclinical therapeutic candidates.

• Develop and execute clear synthetic strategies towards chemically modified oligonucleotides using state-of-the-art synthetic methodologies

• Troubleshoot oligo synthesis issues, maintain lab equipment (Mermade, LCMS, HPLC etc.) and conduct safe lab operations
• HPLC purification and LCMS analysis of synthesized siRNAs and other oligonucleotides
• Maintain up to date, high quality electronic lab notebooks, and quality CoAs
• Regularly present work to internal project teams and R&D Leadership
• Comply with laboratory safety procedures and company guidelines

Key Responsibilities

• Works with their Department Leader to develop conceptual design for projects and guides their team through project completion.
• Acts as the day-to-day Client point of contact on their projects.
• Manages and reviews all project-related documents and ensures timely and accurate implementation.
• Responsible for project deliverables both technically and functionally.
• Presents and explains project designs confidently at internal and external meetings.
• Coordinates and updates the project team regularly to meet design expectations and deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications

• 8-14 years of engineering experience

• Strong understanding of trade-specific scope of project, trade-related codes, and the required coordination with other trades
• Strong understanding of documentation requirements and content for each deliverable phase (e.g., SD, DD, CD and specifications)
