Position Summary: MRI Technologists are responsible for duties involved in the performance of clinical MRI exams including, but not limited to, patient screening for MRI safety, patient positioning, and coil and protocol selection.

Education, License & Cert: Graduate of a 24 month AMA approved radiologic technology program NYS License CPR Certified ARRT(MR) certification or Certification eligible Experience: Minimum of six months preferred as a registered MR Technologist Essential Functions: 1.

Preparing and positioning patients for MRI of various parts of the body.

Positioning includes setting up equipment (coils, monitoring devices, etc.) and patient in relation to each other to provide best demonstration of body part under study.

Is able to lift and position all coils.

Screening patients and personnel for any ferrous metal implants or other objects on them including credit cards and all potential missiles.

Ensures that no patient/visitor/healthcare worker enters scan room with ferromagnetic objects or contraindicated implants.

3.

Based on protocols established by physician, selects appropriate pulse sequences from monitoring console for scan procedures.

Accurately records all pulse sequences implemented for exam.

May recommend changes in protocol or additional instructions to provide additional diagnostic information.

4.

Evaluates results of scanning procedure for quality of results and completeness.

Manipulates images through use of console keyboard and mouse to display to physician.

Using terminal, can select all image display options.

Recognizes problems and rectifies with respect to selection made of operation.

5.

Sends images to PACS system, evaluates exam for completeness, and verifies exam in timely manner.

Develops a working knowledge of all PACS capabilities.

6.

Performs daily Quality Assurance tests on equipment.

7.

Monitoring proper level of cryogens to ensure integrity of magnet.

8.

Informs Radiology Manager or Supervisor and appropriate service personnel of system problems and documents accurately and completely.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Elmira Psychiatric Center (EPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting Board Certified or Board Eligible General and Children & Adolescent Psychiatrists for the Chemung Clinic. Psychiatrists at EPC are part of a multi-disciplinary team that provides comprehensive and individualized treatment to children, adolescents, and adults with severe and persistent mental illness in a community setting.


The Chemung Clinic, located on the grounds of EPC, is a Mental Health Outpatient Treatment and Recovery Services (MHOTRS) program that provides a variety of diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitative services to individuals with mental illness using evidence-based practices. The MHOTRS program offers crisis interventions, general consultations and evaluations, medication management, and ongoing psychiatric treatment for up to a census of 165 individuals. In addition to the Psychiatrist, the Chemung clinic inter-disciplinary team includes social workers, registered nurses, a rehabilitation counselor, and an administrative assistant.


Clinic hours are Monday, 8:30am-3pm, Tuesday, 8:30am-7pm, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 8:30am-5pm.

Documentation Assist in editing and managing Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) documents and procedures in Brady 360, participate in IOX-related activities via the Process Hazard Review Board for Safety Health and Environmental review/approval.

Participate in creation and updates to Job Aides, SOP's, PPEHA's and JSAs as needed and as required.

Project Integration Participate on development project teams to understand expected vs.

actual results across multiple workstreams in IOX and Metrology.

Act as a liaison between the Metrology and IOX Teams for seamless knowledge transfer.

Provide coverage All aspects of Iox Labs, as well as all metrology and measurement functions.

Troubleshooting equipment, processes, training challenges, etc.

Drives continuous process improvement and cost reduction for the site while maintaining compliance to systems and product requirements.

Ability to review and understand technical documents.

Use scientific methods to solve lab issues.

Write and execute DOEs.

Will interface with the product teams to understand critical business priorities.

Maintain an understanding of the products and business goals/objectives.

Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements Strong MS Office skills, with the ability to develop effective communications slide decks and spreadsheets.

Strong analytical skills, including advanced MS Excel capabilities.

Strong communications and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work and collaborate effectively in a diverse environment.
