Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing clinical and non-clinical support to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of patient care during physician and advanced practice provider encounters. This role performs nursing functions related to the care of patients who are ill, injured, or experiencing changes in health status, with a strong emphasis on outpatient clinical workflows. The LPN supports physicians and nurse practitioners in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Strong preference for candidates with outpatient procedural, OR, and Plastics experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
- Evaluate walk-in patients and implement established nursing protocols or refer patients for provider evaluation and treatment as appropriate.
- Assess patient telephone calls using nursing knowledge, interviewing skills, and the nursing process; escalate complex cases to a Physician or Nurse Practitioner when necessary.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments that include:
- Reviewing current concerns while considering chronic conditions and psychosocial barriers
- Selecting appropriate nursing protocols based on patient presentation
- Recommending and implementing nursing interventions
- Educating patients and securing cooperation for treatment plans
- Assist patients with access to services in accordance with medical insurance coverage.
- Educate patients on self-care, preventive health strategies, disease management, and symptom monitoring.
- Coordinate follow-up medical care and in-home care as needed.
- Assist providers with obtaining laboratory results and communicating normal results to patients per provider direction.
- Prepare patients for procedures, obtain laboratory specimens, and ensure proper handling and delivery to designated laboratories.
- Maintain infection control standards, including proper disposal of sharps, routine cleaning of exam rooms, and PRN cleaning when exposure to body fluids occurs.
- Support outpatient procedural workflows, including pre- and post-procedure patient preparation (highly preferred).
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program
Licensure / Certifications
- Current, active, and unrestricted DC Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Strongly preferred:
- Outpatient clinical experience
- Procedural or ambulatory OR experience
- Plastics or surgical specialty experience
Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking, standing, and reaching above shoulder level in a clinical setting

Position Summary
As an Infusion Nurse, you will provide patient care activities within the scope of nursing practice that include, but not limited to patient assessment, symptom management, medication administration and management, monitoring of infused medications, performing IV placements, accessing ports, and collaboration with healthcare providers and clinical team across all departments. They are seeking a Trustee Engagement Officer (TEO) to directly support the President/Chairman of the Board, key Trustees, and Rising Trustees who are leading the Foundation's grantmaking work locally, nationally, and globally.
This is a multi-faceted Senior Executive Assistant role, reporting to the Director of Operations. As TEO, you will act as the central coordination hub between the Foundation’s President, Trustees and staff. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Arlington, VA this ranges from $130,600.00 - $179,500.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
